The two screw on the head - one is to lock the ball joint in place and the other is to release/tighten the head to allow the head to pan without loosening the ball head. There's usually degrees marked in a ring around the bottom of the head.
there are 3 screews actually. two is for the ball joint and one for pan as you say. the question was why is two screws for the ball joint? the joint is moveable in case you release both screws - one is not enough. for me this is a little pain in the ass, if I need a perfect angle for the object.
I purchased this tripod yesterday after watching your video, it arrived today and I am extremely pleased with it, a very good versatile tripod for £83 from Amazon.
Thanks for the video. I was unsure about this product but you now changed my mind and I'm most definitely going to order this product online this weekend. Thanks again
Maybe after a year you could do an update on how well this tripod holds up. Thanks for the review, not sure about the quality of this tripod, especially the ball head.
Thanks for your great review and demonstration. I bought it based on your review and it should arrive today. Pretty quick delivery considering I’m in Adelaide
Yes it is a bit on the heavy side but I don't mind as it feel sturdy, it has some great features. Did you find that the rubber parts on the tripod have a bit of a strong rubber smell to them (it might be just me, I have an extra sensitive nose but just wondered if it is something that would bother anyone else)?
@@olgadekellIt doesn't bother me as i have a very insensitive sense of smell. Have you used the Neewer in a stream or water? I am going on a hike to photograph a small waterfall today. I will see how it handles a little water as the best spot to get a great shot is in a stream.
They are both quite similar but have different heads so it really depends on what you are using it for and what you prefer. The ball head is more practical for me.
Awesome video! I’ve been concerned that the arm can be too short to to overlay footage. This one seems like long enough! Would you mind telling me how long the extension arm can go? Thankyou very much!
Odditty Thankyou for the quick reply! That’s great information because I’m going to get this one to do flatlay pictures, and it seems like the length of the arm is important cause I don’t want the legs show in the pictures!
It seems like you could use it as a slide with the center arm at 45 and then loosened so you can slide the pole front/back or left/right. Really curious if that would work cause if so, that thing could be utilized for tons of cool shots.
Hi, Odditty! How good is this tripod for shooting in horizontal set up for over head/ above table mode ? Is it strond enough for 1.5 kg camera ? What is a length of an horizontal arm?
It's pretty good for overhead, I just use a sandbag to make sure nothing falls over but the arm is strong enough for my Fujifilm X-T4 with zoom lens no problem. Horizontal arm is around 19"/50cm not including the ball head.
Do you mean in terms of attaching the GoPro to it? I am not sure what the GoPro comes with but you can normally easily get adapters that convert to correct size etc.
Not sure if it would be an upgrade as such as they are a bit different, the 2 in 1 I have has a video panning head and serves a different purpose to this one.
Hi there - thanks for the review. I'm looking for a tripod with a horizontal arm that I can film/video sports events with - mainly ice hockey - but which needs to stick out over a balcony (where the camera will be situated) in order to cover the entire rink Would this tripod allow me to do that? It would need to allow the camera operator a fair degree of flexibility in terms of movement/angles etc ...
Thank you for your video. In the thumbnail of your video, where you have a bag hanging on the opposite end...it looks like the horizontal arm is VERY long. Not the 22" others have mentioned. Could you measure the horizontal arm for me as it's hard to get a straight answer, even from Neewer. Yours looks more like 3 feet. Thanks
1 Comment, 1 question....com1, you should adjust your light settings and leave them, make adjustments in post, it looks more professional. ?1 does this tripod seem like it is going to last, it seems pretty light weight/cheap, how does it feel as compared to the looks on video?
Thanks for the feedback. I am still using it today and haven't had any issues yet, it's got quite a few metal parts so not sure why it's giving off such a cheap vibe on-screen, I actually find it quite sturdy.
I have my eye on this tripod at the moment! Can you unscrew the ballhead and put a fluid head on instead for video work? I'm assuming it does since Neewer sell separate fluid heads but want to be sure with this one...If it does I'm sold!
folowing your review i bought the exact same tripod and gotta say i am pleased with it, however i think you could have shown more of its capabilities in your review. only thing about it that is lacking is the fact that the boom arm is only 50cm long. this is intentional in order to keep the tripod size to that minimum that is very easy to carry aroud but if you want to make overhead shots of some work it just wont reach far enough for most uses. if aynone knows of a replacement boom arm that is 1,5 or 1,2 meters long that could point to it id love to know about the,. because this tripod is great for using when your out taking pictures, and an extra boom arm would make it fit perfectly indoors for my car repair shots
Thank you for the constructive feedback 🙏. I wonder if a longer arm would work in terms of balance safety? You would have to carry a counterweight to the shoot I assume 🤔.
Thank you for your review! I wonder what is the actual weight capacity when tripod center arm is fully extended while legs are extended normally (not super wide)? I wonder if I could mount a camera with a lens that together weigh about 2kg / 4.5 lbs or should I worry about a counterweight?
@@olgadekell Thank you! Amazon should deliver this tripod to me today and I hope to test it very soon. I guess I'll have to use a counterweight as well.
@@olgadekell Is it difficult to use without a handle for panning? I wanted it for a film tripod but the lack of a handle puts me off. Glad to hear its holding up.
I don't have that camera but I don't see why it wouldn't be compatible, only unless there is some new tripod mount system that I am not aware off (usually most consumer cameras come with the same tripod plate hole at the bottom of the camera).
Hi, I’ve got my eyes on this (or a very similar) tripod, but I’m not sure about one thing. Can I do flatlays/overhead shots for food photography with it? Thanks for answering 🤗🤗🤗

Hi there..greetings from lockdown UK! I was just about to buy a Manfrotto 055 with X Pro head but having watched your review I'm having a re-think. Presumably I can fit the X Pro 3 way head to this tripod? Also, does the tripod have a model number so that I can be sure I have the ri\ghjt one if I decide to buy it? Thanks.
at around 5:50 youre pressing the button at the bottom of the center tube, it comes back out and the pin pops back out. mine got stuck in the in position, is there a trick to get it out or is mine broken?
The legs on this tripod are a nightmare. They cannot be tightened at the top where they meet the center column and swing completely freely after a week of use. Every time you try and adjust a leg or shift the tripod one or more legs will swing in toward the center. Probably fine indoors where you can jam something up in between them....

It's around 2.5kg. I don't normally use a tripod while out and about so I'm not sure how it would be for travel.

Yes ballhead comes off with no problem.
You dont have to tighten all two screws on the ball head, one is for tightening and the other one is for friction like on many other ballheads.

I think it's metal (it's cool to the touch and sounds like metal when tapped) but I can't be sure.
