About Harvey's guest:
Today’s special guest, Joe Lando, is an award-winning actor who’s brought us many memorable performances in numerous movies including “Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home”, “Shadows of Desire”, “Alien Nation: The Enemy Within”, “Seeds of Doubt”, “Blindness”, “Born Wild”, “The Untold Story”, and his latest film, “Night Train”, directed by the amazing Shane Stanley who recently appeared on our show.
You’ve also seen him in dozens of TV shows including “One Life to Live”, “Higher Ground”, “Wildfire”, “The Secret Circle”, “The Bay” and “The Bold and the Beautiful”.
But he’s perhaps best remembered for playing Byron Sully, the love interest and husband of Jane Seymour’s character on the hugely popular hit TV show, “Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman”. He reprised his role as Sully in “Dr Quinn Medicine Woman: The Movie”, and “Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman: The Heart Within”, as well as in the hilarious comedy short, “Dr. Quinn Morphine Woman”.
And those of us who couldn’t get enough of the onscreen chemistry between our guest and the wonderful Jane Seymour, got to see them together again in “Perfectly “Prudence”, “Friendsgiving” and “A Christmas Spark”. In 1993, he was included in People Magazine’s list of the 50 Most Beautiful People in the World.
But he’s so much more than that. Besides being a great actor, he’s a highly skilled chef, an avid cyclist, and a very devoted family man.

When People Magazine named Joe Lando one of the 50 most beautiful people in the world, it was a blessing and a curse. Being typecast as a heartthrob can be severely limiting for an actor, because often the “all looks, no talent” assumptions are made within the industry. Joe Lando eventually successfully overcame the “hunky mountain man” screen persona he acquired on “Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman” - and deservedly so. He’s a fine actor and more importantly, a kind, humble, intelligent human being. I greatly enjoyed having him on our show.

Esther Mizell, from Sacramento, California! I fell in Love with Joe Lando during the Pandemic, and while searching what to watch on TV, I found DQMW! Then, I became hooked! Sully was so amazing! A perfect female dream of a loving, compassionate, and caring Mountain man! Sully and Dr.Mike has the greatest Chemistry you can ever imagin..! Then, "A CHRISTMAS SPARK ," Joe & Jane's 'Chemistry continues to be off the Chart! I also, watch all of OLTL, and Jake and Megan was a very Romantic Couple!!! I had the opportunity to watch every movie I can find with Joe Lando. He is a very Talented man! He is aging beautifully! Thank you Harvey for this interview!!! And maybe more scenes, with Jane Seymour, will be the Best ever! Possibly a spin-off of DQMW or other movies they are in together!!🙏

Joe Lando is still a beautiful man, but in the years he played Sully he was of legendary beauty, a living god! Thank you mr. Brownstone for the very interesting interview.
Yes Joe was certainly blessed with amazing looks, but he never wanted to be known for his beauty. I don’t think he was ever comfortable with the sex symbol image. Unlike most Hollywood beefcake stars, he didn’t live the party lifestyle. He’s a loyal husband and devoted father of 4 children. Paul Newman and Robert Redford were the same - very uncomfortable being known for their looks, preferring to be respected for their acting skills.
@@harveybrownstoneinterviews8980 Yes, you are right, mr. Brownstone, I knew those characteristics of Joe. But what I wanted to say is that Joe, willingly or not, has been a sex symbol for countless women on the planet.

His love and appreciation for his wife after all their years together is so very heartwarming and hopefully inspiring for others to do the same. I had that relationship with my husband until the day he died. Just because he is gone, my love for him has not diminished. I wish The Joe Lando family all the well wishes they richly deserve. Hopefully you can convey this message to him. I am not a techy person and have no way of knowing how to forward my thanks to them. I still enjoy Dr Quinn MW, which used to run two episodes every morning on the START TV channel. I think they've reduced it to only one ep per day, all week long. (i don't have cable & enjoy it via antenna.)
The historical accuracy of DQMW and the cast were fantastic!
I particularly loved the storyline that took Sully to Washington DC where he had to be broken out of jail, hobnob w/ the President and clear his name.
Joe - "the bear lip syncing." 😆😆😂😂
Loyalty is also important to me, Joe!
Also, Joe's placid yet dependable & strong nature always shines through. I have seen him in other interviews and have always appreciated his kind, humble, modest demeanor.
