The thing I find funny about the Robertson situation is I don't think he wants to remain in a canadian market. After his experience in this market he probably wants to go closer to home. I'm no GM but in my opinion, if a player doesn't want to stay on my team I'm not trying to force him to stay!
I simply don't understand why Marner is regarded as some kind of untouchable player. He has to go. I say that as a fan who thought it was Nylander who had to go. Marner wants too much money, even if he has a down year. He simply doesn't "fit" anymore because no matter what his circumstance, he is going to want every single dime he can squeeze out of the Leafs and they have too many needs if they really want to improve in the overall.
I love Marner ... but we can not afford to keep him ... plus a no show when it counts...

I hope they find a way to get rid of Robertson, Liljagren, Kampf and Jarnkrok and bring in bigger more aggressive types as replacements. I’d take Mcbain and others of that ilk that play a defined bottom six role. Robertson is not a top 6 player on the leafs.
Why would they get rid of Liljegren. They just resigned him. They could let him walk if they wanted to get rid of him?
@@honkingantalope as you’ve seen with the Broberg offer sheet, young puck moving D are valued by teams and although I don’t hate Liljagren in the regular season , I’d rather a more more physical playoff style D especially at playoff time. So I’d say because he has some value, they should explore trading him if they get back the right D at the right price.

-teams in the Atlantic are all improving..the Leafs on the other hand spend weeks on Robertson a smallish bottom sixer...playoffs are not automatic..
