- Charles II‘s illegitimate son, the Duke of Monmouth, became one of the most influential and powerful men at the Restoration court. He married a Scottish heiress, Anne Scott, and together they became leaders of fashion and taste.
Recent researches have revealed that the Duke and Duchess were major patrons of architecture, leaving some important, but little known, buildings to posterity.

Two of my ancestors called Durston were hung by Judge Jefferies for following Monmouth. They were officers in his army.
I had no idea the Duke of Monmouth was such a player in Restoration society - thought of him as an outsider or a chancer.
How come this keeps popping up when ...

and, ... don't have finances to move ... about to be homeless ... haven't been employed ... have medical physical systemic conditions, arthritis like .... isolated ... not seen daughter since 2018 ... haven't access to a trustworthy solicitor ... and this is Australia ... ?
