The witch’s hat that your mom made is precious. I love how the brim falls on the pumpkin. What a great family treasure!
It truly is a treasure Laura, I love it so much and the older I get the more special these things are to me. I love Halloween decorations too. I used to decorate a lot when my kids and grandkids were growing up. They are not really in my life anymore so I really don’t do it anymore. A lot of the stuff is still in my garage in tubs. I do miss them and those times with them. I loved watching you decorate today. Memories!
Oh precious friend, I pray that you are able to still see your family and enjoy them. I say, pull out those tubs and decorate...I have so many memories tied to my precious family that I have lost and they make my heart smile when I think of all the precious times we shared together. Holidays are hard without the ones we love so I choose to remember those times when I decorate. I pray that all is well for you sweet friend and may God bless you always!
What a treasure trove of vintage Halloween!! This world can make any holiday evil and it does. Halloween was so exciting as a child. Wearing homemade costumes, walking through leaves blowing down the street. It was fun and scary!! All of your collection is so nostalgic for me!! So fun!!! You display everything so perfectly!! When we seek God, we need to trust in his response, no response, whatever. He will always lead us in the right direction. God bless and love to you Michele and Cheryl and your children.
I agree with you dear friend, Halloween was so excited because we got to dress up and go trick or treating with our parents. Sometimes my mother and uncle would dress up and it was so fun. Then to come home and dump all of our candy on the floor and go through it all and trade what we didn't like. So many fun times. I love everything old but I think my most favorite treasures is my Halloween trick or treat bucket and the pumpkin blow mold that my mother always sat out. Lovely collection displayed in such a sweet, cozy way! Many of us have precious Halloween childhood memories filled with love, joy, adventure, a sense of magic. To me, Halloween has never been about the gory and the gruesome. It’s a celebration of the lovely fall season and a time for children and some of us adults to play dress up and visit kind neighbors or perhaps go to a fun school carnival, party, or parade. It is also a part of our American heritage.
Yes, I think you said it so well, it was a fun part of our childhood and to remember all those special things we did as children just brings a smile to my face. So many precious moments spent with my older sister and my Mother. Even precious sweet days that I spent taking my daughter to the pumpkin patch and carnivals....how I cherish those dear sweet memories. Thank you so much for your sweet message and may God bless you!
I do love the vintage Halloween. I’m a Christian and I can’t find anything wrong with a black cat! Or a pumpkin! You have a lovely collection, and it sounds like you have very happy memories, and I do too!
My Mother who wasn’t an easy person to have as a mother, 100% loved holidays, and she was at her most happiest on them, so all my happy memories are of holidays.
I'm so glad you have many happy holiday memories to cherish. Holidays were always a fun part of our lives and I'm so glad my Mother saved some of our things that we can enjoy and remember. I miss my family so much so my memories are something I hold very near and dear to my heart. I love your vintage stuff. I never run into things like that. For a long time I didn’t celebrate Halloween, but like you, I had fond memories of my childhood. Now with grandchildren I want to decorate for them. How I decorate is with friendly, happy ghosts. Nothing evil looking. It’s cute and they love it.

I'm like you, I loVve vinTage Halloween that evokes happy childhood memories! 🖤🧡 ...I am a Christian as well. I have never felt conviction over decorating with happy Halloween things or taking my kids trick or treating. God knows our hearts! 🧡🖤
I don't see the harm in a smiling jack o lantern, but I certainly don't want to offend anyone that does. I just know there is good and evil in all things. I'd love to go back and visit those stores in the 50's and see all that wonderful decor sitting on the shelves. I can only imagine all the wonderful things. My heart just feels so connected to the old days. It's so fun to find these things and then I always think about the child that had this item and how they used it in their home. Everything is so cute and brings back wonderful memories. If people would realize the first Halloween started out as people dressing up like saints and walking around the day before All Saints’ Day. I love seeing kids in costumes having so much fun. I am sure Easton loves your beautiful decorations. The problem today is people take the joy and fun away from kids. Easton spent the night with me the other night and had so much fun with all the decor. He is always such a blessing to me. My daughter enjoys it too! Yes, I celebrate the good and I really enjoy the innocent side of this holiday. There are so many wonderful items to collect but the most special to me are the items from my childhood and even the special ones that were my daughters. My childhood trick or treat bucket is my favorite along with the blow mold that my mother sat out each year. I also love that witches hat that my mother made as a costume for us kids to wear. I have a clown costume she made us as well and they are treasures for sure. Thank you for watching sweet friend and God bless you!
I love all your Halloween decor!! The die cut outs are what we used to tape to the big picture window in our living room. We also had the small glo mold of the cat with a pumpkin on top! Such fun memories!
I guess that is why there is tape on the back of my die cuts and tears on the top of them. I would love to find the big die cut of the Skelton that had all the moving arms and legs, it hung in our elementary classroom on the door, I think all my teachers had one. I love your Halloween decor! I like all things cute for Halloween, like you do. My favorites were the blow molds and the adorable little black kitty at the beginning of the tour. I think my sister and I had the same exact plastic pumpkins for treat or treating. Thank you for the nostalgia and memories! 🎃🎃🎃
Aren't those trick or treat pumpkins so fun! My mother kept ours in a certain closet and even today when I smell that pumpkin it smells like it did when I was a child. Did you get one of those too as a child? When I found that at the antique store I HAD to have it because of all the memories it brought back. We also always got those big wax lips and mustaches too! Yes, Leslie you are so right, our time on this earth is limited and we sure want to spread the love of God with others while we can. I love Halloween because it was always a joyful time when I was a child and while raising children and now celebrating with grandchildren. I feel like if something brings people joy without harming anyone, it can't be evil.
Those sweet items of my daughters are treasures for certain. I have saved her trick or treat bucket as well and hope that she will enjoy it like I enjoy mine one day. I love all your vintage things. And I agree with you, I love the Lord and live for Him every day but I always went trick or treating and so did m y kids. We never had evil intentions just fun intentions. The Lord knows our hearts and I was never convicted of it.

Oh my, Michele! How I love your vintage Halloween, I have one little pipe cleaner and crepe paper witch. I really need to start a collection. I have wonderful memories of my childhood Halloweens, the trick or treating with my 4 brothers. I can even remember what treats we would get and the people that gave them to us. One house was a Hershey bar for each of us and another was homemade chocolate chip cookies! They are very happy memories.

How is that all you have when you make the most wonderful vintage inspired items. I hope you have some of your handmade treasures that you display in your home, they are masterpieces for sure!!! Don't you just love how certain things bring back certain memories. I love that you can remember what houses gave you what treats. We did get a lot of homemade treats but we could only eat the ones that came from house of my Mother's friends. We would get excited if we got chocolate bars! So much fun! You have so many amazing vintage Halloween pieces. Halloween is such a fun time to remember childhood and all of the whimsical fun that goes along with it! I grew up in the 80s so we had the plastic gown and plastic facemasks with the eye holes cut out in them but I can really get behind all of these lovely quality vintage pieces! Great video
Oh yes, I think I had the princess plastic face mask and thought that was the coolest thing ever!!! Remember how hot your face got wearing it? I love all the memories that the old stuff brings, some of my collection is much older than me but I can only imagine the places these fun pieces have been and what sweet child got to enjoy them. I’m always amazed at how you can take something like old raffle tickets or crape paper and make it apart of your decor! That is a true decorator! Love all your vintage Halloween. I don't like spooky Halloween either,just have a little bit of vintage.and some primitive Halloween decor.I will start taking my fall and Halloween down the second week of October, and hopefully be done with Christmas decor by November 1st. I will leave my fall and front porch decor outside until after Halloween, don't want my neighbors to think I'm crazy,lol.Always enjoy your videos! Have a great weekend!
I never used to decorate for Christmas until after Thanksgiving but last year with our channel I started my Christmas in early October. I will do the same this year. Like you my porch was fall but I was rockin the Christmas decor inside! I'm glad I'm not the only one out there!!! :)) I'm actually kinda getting excited about Christmas but it's still in the 90's here in Oklahoma. I'm gonna need some cooler temps here real soon!!! I haven't really been searching much for it lately but I can only imagine. I mainly look for vintage Christmas these days and I know for a fact that it is crazy expensive! That is why I love to thrift, you just never know what you will find. Always look in those bags, I have found more treasures in those bags than anywhere! Such a wonderful collection and they look so cute mixed in with your fall decor! My Mom had a choir boy pumpkin and when she passed, we looked for it incessantly, but it was not there anymore in her home. Seeing yours brings back so many memories, so thank you! Amen to God being there for us, He definitely helped me with the passing of my husband this year.

We never had a choir boy but I can remember seeing one when I was a child at a house we went to trick or treat and I remember it fascinating me even then. She sat it out on her porch. Boo! So great seeing your collection of vintage Halloween! I have not been convicted either about my items but I am certain there are those that could make me feel guilty. 😂. Of course I collect vintage Halloween. I just bought a cat holding pumpkin yesterday at Canton. Does yours have a light insert in the back? I think someone forced one into mine. (Fyi, I paid $50.). I would have purchased more but did not realize most vendors have gone to cash only and I typically use my debit card and take $100 in cash. I noticed some pumpkins in Canton with old funnels as hats.
I haven't been to Canton in years....wow that sounds like so much fun! $50..ughh! Yes, ours has a hole but it always had one and it would light up each night and sit in our picture window. Old funnels as hats sounds so cute on pumpkins, I'm gonna have to keep my eyes peeled for one! I think if you love old stuff you love ALL old stuff, it just has a certain kind of feel that keeps drawing you in! I hope you got some good stuff at Canton, you'll have to share!!!
