We were only there an hour, so can't comment on preaching. However, they did read scripture some, and about 20min of the hour I was there was them praying. Most of the videos you see of the singing is only because it's easy and more appropriate to video I think than when they are doing something else.
I was there Sunday evening. There was a sermon, prayer & testimonies. I found it hard to record because of the special worship. I didn’t want to miss the moment.
Of course, there is plenty of singing, but a quick search you can find the videos where there is reading of scripture. One of the videos I saw there was a line of people and one by one read a passage of scripture. I see so many people trying to make judgments about what's going on at this university, yet they refuse to take the time and actually look it up. I have a genuine question I'm not bashing anyone I'm truly honestly curious. How many of these people will go home and actually live a clean life how many of these people will put away their smoking their drinking there cussing the pornography they're listening too raunchy music their laziness and their complacency how many of these people will genuinely experience true Revival. Now I'm not saying these things are required for salvation salvation according to scripture is free read Ephesians 2:8-9. What I am trying to say is that true genuine Revival produces results in the life of a Christian I'm just getting really curious if this is Revival or if this is a spiritual euphoric High that the God of this world is sending to make people think that they are actually doing something good. I've got scripture and I'm being completely genuine I'm not making fun of anyone I'll probably never get an answer to this question but at least it's out there and people can read it and think about it. Is this a movement of the flesh or of the spirit I'm not going to judge it we're going to let history judge it and here is the Bible verse that makes me wonder. 2 Corinthians 11:3-4 (KJV) 3 But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. 4 For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him. Remember I'm not putting these people down I do not know them I'm just simply asking question because we do know that Satan is the Great counterfeiter he gives a false Jesus he gives a false Holy Spirit and he gives a false gospel I just hope and pray this is not the case in this situation.
Pray for that... do you believe He answers the righteous prayers like the Bible says? If so then pour out the gracious gift of His Spirit into that...if you're not already. If you are, let's fast and pray even more. May The Lord's Holy Fire engulf this entire earth in Jesus's name! And may anything NOT of God be UTTERLY condemned and destroyed in Jesus's name!
One of the reasons I went (over 2 hour drive) was to answer these questions. Now, it's hard to say after only an hour there, but I CAN say pretty confidently this is not emotionalism. There is an order to it, it's not chaos. That was my main concern, and I was pleasantly surprised. Only time will tell if it is true Revival, but I can say 100% the Holy Spirit is involved in whatever this moment in history is.

what do you guys call revival? a group of Christians singing songs? If that doesnt extend beyond those walls, and bring real repentance on their cities/churchs/jobs etc, I wouldn't call it revival.
🙌🏻To God be the Glory! 😊Kind sir, this a church building… Revival is “designed to revive” the body of Christ, Christian believers! Whereas unbelievers need to be saved or born again. Revival is taking place here in the form of all ages, gathered in His name under one roof. The church is packed wall to wall, floor to ceiling, elbow to elbow with “all kinds of people” worshipping! I am sure they are many people here who brought unsaved friends & loved ones with them! I’m sure there are many different faiths, denominations represented, gathered together in His Name as well! This alone is a miracle! Only the Holy Spirit of the Living God draws people together in His name! Believers will be refreshed, the unsaved will be “born again” turning their lives over to Jesus, lukewarm Christians will recommit their hearts and lives to Him. Salvation originates with the Lord! Lets thank Him and praise Him for His mighty works that are exceedingly abundantly far above all we can ask or think! Thank You Father! To God be the Glory!
Yes, it does sound like the typical praise & worship team, "Simon Says" Do this and do that, but we can't judge people's heart. We don't know who's sinning, but I agree with you that conviction of sin is paramount in having a real spiritual revival. People should worship and praise God, whether they're bouncing, clapping their hands, or singing if they are doing it with a clear conscience.
I was going to comment that you seem to be in need of revival but I actually think you may be in need of salvation. Ask God to search your heart and show you which you are in need of.

I recently became curious about the Jesus movement of the late 1960s and mid-1970s, which is the same time period during a previous revival occurred at Asbury. It was then known as The Jesus Revolution. For anyone here who might be interested, a movie will be coming out later this month (23rd or 24th, I think) by that same title. We were only there an hour, so can't comment on preaching. However, they did read scripture some, and about 20min of the hour I was there was them praying. Most of the videos you see of the singing is only because it's easy and more appropriate to video I think than when they are doing something else.

I was there Sunday evening. There was a sermon, prayer & testimonies. I found it hard to record because of the special worship. I didn’t want to miss the moment.

Of course, there is plenty of singing, but a quick search you can find the videos where there is reading of scripture. One of the videos I saw there was a line of people and one by one read a passage of scripture. I see so many people trying to make judgments about what's going on at this university, yet they refuse to take the time and actually look it up.

I have a genuine question I'm not bashing anyone I'm truly honestly curious. How many of these people will go home and actually live a clean life how many of these people will put away their smoking their drinking there cussing the pornography they're listening too raunchy music their laziness and their complacency how many of these people will genuinely experience true Revival. Now I'm not saying these things are required for salvation salvation according to scripture is free read Ephesians 2:8-9. What I am trying to say is that true genuine Revival produces results in the life of a Christian I'm just getting really curious if this is Revival or if this is a spiritual euphoric High that the God of this world is sending to make people think that they are actually doing something good. I've got scripture and I'm being completely genuine I'm not making fun of anyone I'll probably never get an answer to this question but at least it's out there and people can read it and think about it. Is this a movement of the flesh or of the spirit I'm not going to judge it we're going to let history judge it and here is the Bible verse that makes me wonder.

Remember I'm not putting these people down I do not know them I'm just simply asking question because we do know that Satan is the Great counterfeiter he gives a false Jesus he gives a false Holy Spirit and he gives a false gospel I just hope and pray this is not the case in this situation.
Pray for that... do you believe He answers the righteous prayers like the Bible says? If so then pour out the gracious gift of His Spirit into that...if you're not already. If you are, let's fast and pray even more. May The Lord's Holy Fire engulf this entire earth in Jesus's name! And may anything NOT of God be UTTERLY condemned and destroyed in Jesus's name!
One of the reasons I went (over 2 hour drive) was to answer these questions. Now, it's hard to say after only an hour there, but I CAN say pretty confidently this is not emotionalism. There is an order to it, it's not chaos. That was my main concern, and I was pleasantly surprised. Only time will tell if it is true Revival, but I can say 100% the Holy Spirit is involved in whatever this moment in history is.

what do you guys call revival? a group of Christians singing songs? If that doesnt extend beyond those walls, and bring real repentance on their cities/churchs/jobs etc, I wouldn't call it revival.

🙌🏻To God be the Glory! 😊Kind sir, this a church building… Revival is “designed to revive” the body of Christ, Christian believers! Whereas unbelievers need to be saved or born again. Revival is taking place here in the form of all ages, gathered in His name under one roof. The church is packed wall to wall, floor to ceiling, elbow to elbow with “all kinds of people” worshipping! I am sure they are many people here who brought unsaved friends & loved ones with them! I’m sure there are many different faiths, denominations represented, gathered together in His Name as well! This alone is a miracle! Only the Holy Spirit of the Living God draws people together in His name! Believers will be refreshed, the unsaved will be “born again” turning their lives over to Jesus, lukewarm Christians will recommit their hearts and lives to Him.
Salvation originates with the Lord!
Lets thank Him and praise Him for His mighty works that are exceedingly abundantly far above all we can ask or think! Thank You Father! To God be the Glory!

We don't know who's sinning, but I agree with you that conviction of sin is paramount in having a real spiritual revival.
People should worship and praise God, whether they're bouncing, clapping their hands, or singing if they are doing it with a clear conscience.
