I would NOT be buying these cards right now. It's too late. The mania has crept into the equation- and I think the prices they are at are unsustainable (except for Antman over 3-5 years). I'd be looking to sell these cards at some point in the playoffs to cash out.
Selling is smart during hype on newer players they can always get injury end career

I think they are wrong on Edwards . He is an exciting player and developing into a complete player. Even if his rookie cards dip , long term I think he is a safe investment
Long term his cards will climb but in the off season his prices will dip for sure. Out of sight, out of mind. Next year if Timberwolves do good then the rollercoaster up will be back. There is a place for long term investing and a place for short term quick flips. Buy in the offseason and sell when they catch fire or hold for a very long time. I like both schools of thought.
Sell now buy later. You can always buy cards back. Even Jordan and Kobe cards can dip. Edwards is no exception, there's no guarantee he'll win a ring this year or next.
@@tubenachos you just made my point . There are no guarantees even on MJ or the Mamba but they are solid investments. No guarantee on any card but buy low and let the cards marinate and sell high if you have to

Edwards has reached Luka status. Meaning, even when he is out of the playoffs whenever that may be, his cards will dip but will never be as low as they were during the season again. The days of getting a 10 Silver of Edwards for 700 is long gone.

True, but in his total arbitrage I'm sure he's made more money than he's lost.....and Cards HQ is pretty dope. If I was a kid and THAT was my LCS I'd be over the moon. My LCS had 1 table, 3 cases, and 1 shelf of old wax. He was a good guy- but this is next level. I miss the lcs I had as a kid though- we ripped a TON of 81 Topps Football (at one point I had like 12 Joe Montana rookies- sold them all back to him for other cards and wax.) I just wish I didn't throw out my mid 90's Jordan cards and inserts. Had them in binders, and before the hobby blew up in 19/20 I threw all of them out.

I think Ant Man RAW Prizm silver for $400+, people buying his silvers and colors to grade and gem. Got a lot of Wemby and his cards, don’t sell your Prizm base for $35-$50, if he does great again, it’ll go back to $100 range
People don't like Lefraud. The longer he plays the more it tarnishes his career. He will be lucky to break top 5 all time.

Bought 25 Ant base rookies on Ebay yesterday. Less than $2 each. He's 3 years younger than Luka and SGA.

2018:Luka, generational. 2019: Zion most incredible unworldly talent ever drafted. Freak of nature. 2020 Anthony Edwards great possible long term investment. Gun. 2022: someone will be designated eventually. 2023: Wemby (See Zion). Freak of nature. Never seen before prospect. Unbelievable.
All of this is pure hype and spin. It is becoming somewhat predictable. Boring even. Every year, or every other year, a once in a generation player supposedly comes along. A generation must be two years in hobby terms. Hockey currently has three generational players: McDavid, Matthews and Bedard. All drafted within an 8 year window. And soon to be added to no doubt. The internet( influencing) is driving this craziness. Flipping cards can be fun, can be profitable, but 'investing' in modern cards of so called 'generational players' and 'freaks of nature' is nonsense ... in my humble, not sought after opinion.

I’ve made a couple thousand in the last 2 weeks off of Anthony Edwards cards
Market is heating up, the only thing that concerns me is who is buying so much? Are VCs coming in with Capital or is this just a good time of year?
I started to go away from one touches and just grading the cards I want to keep. Even if they get a bad grade at least it protected and I don't really mind what grade.

There is a lot less being ripped online now. eBay put the stops to retail ripping. Whatnot isn’t necessarily easy for many breakers either. Most breakers have lost money and are in the process of folding.

@@planetawesome3575 Not all breakers. If you know somebody at eBay you can get on their “approved list”. I have heard they are discouraging retail breaks and want breakers to have hobby product now. That is an even more exclusive group of people.

I think MLB viewership is up, at least 6%. Due to the pitch clock it is much better paced now. Ohtani going to the Dodgers, Soto to NY, and the rise in rookie prospecting (from the minors ) probably all play into why MLB has taken over #1 again. Just some of my thoughts. Good show
There's a lot of promise with the players not named Victor Wembanyama that I think the hobby is ignoring right now. Amen/Ausar/Podziemski/Keyonte/Lively all have really great potential and played pretty well. I think we'll see at least one of those players develop into a "Brunson" type story after a few years.
Sell my wife? Yes. Sell my kid? No. Lol. Gotta make money off the cycles, I love how there is always going to be a cycle of certain players every so often.
