    Florida Fishing channel fishing at Sanibel Island for Tarpon, ya can't win them all. After being cut off on the bridge by Tarpon more times than i care to count. We were fishing open water near the Sanibel Island lighthouse and pier when we hooked into something huge!!! This shows why center consoles make the best fishing boats.

    One important tactic I was taught 20 yrs ago is to "bow to the king" when they jump. This means to immediately lunge forward with your rod, dropping the tip, to create slack in the line so when they head thrash while airborne, they are less likely to snap your line. Hope its helpful, tight lines.

    Oh Chris that was beautiful. How big would you say that one was? Pounds & feet

    • @SaltyStrikes
      @SaltyStrikes  5 років тому

      Trish Plemmons probably about 5’ and 60-80lbs, of coarse it’s just a guess, it was about 30-40 yards away when it jumped

      Josué we’ve hooked into quite a few of them. Been broken off by the bridge more times than I care to count. They seem to hang in the water at about the 20’ depth. Keep looking, you’ll find them 👍

      Reel Ambitions Thanks 🙏🏻, appreciate the compliment. Just watched your latest video. You seem to have everything down pat. Editing, transitions, story, and content. I’m still feel really new to recording and putting it all together. The only advice I can really give with confidence is, make videos you would like to watch and remember people watching UA-cam have short attention spans. Keep the camera rolling and the poles bent 👍.
