- Action packed till the end! Lately I dedicated myself in flying the Mi-8 Hip doing recon and deep strikes. I felt a bit adventurous and decided to poke the hornet nest since there is a bluefor airbase nearby. This sortie took place on 18/8/2023 in Enigma's Cold War, Syria. Enjoy!

@@MyNameIsAleidan Thanks man! I do not use pedals yet, i use the pedals located on my HOTAS. Im currently using thrustmaster t16000m HOTAS (throttle) and VKB Gladiator NXT stick. Best bang for the buck!
@@Rodz88 Thank you very much for the answer. It seems like a very nice combo indeed, i tried the T16000M throttle and with some grease it is indeed very nice. Seeing how smoothly you pilot helicopters with it, its amazing. Can't wait to see more of it !

When you will buy the rudder peddals guys have a look at the Virpil's one. Truly a game changer. I know they are quite expensive but worth it if you fly heli

Oh yes! Lady luck shine on me that night. Sooo many close calls & im glad our MiGs are on point. Given the base they spawn was far, im happy they flew all the way doing CAP

Thanks! Yeah, a lot of recording & getting the right angle for great shot was pretty challenging. But im happy with the end result
Nice low flying, that does seem to help me, I always scrape the ground. Makes it harder for the fighters to track especially if you change direction. Of course I will say the MiG-21 was earning his pay as well. Great video!
Thanks man! Yeah, then make sudden changes in direction. If we are lucky to find a town nearby, it's a great hiding spot. It was very thrilling being hunted by jets!

Yes it is, i enjoyed both sorties in jets & helicopters in ECW. Everyday is different scenario for me

Flying rotary wing really is a unique experience! I been flying fixed wing all the time in ECW, im glad that i hop into my hip that day instead of my fishbed

I’m going to fly the hell out of the Chinook, and I’m trying to become the pilot of one irl. An older, analog variant would be perfect for ECW. A Vietnam-era CH-47A and ACH-47A gunship would be absolutely glorious.
But a Pave Low would just be a chef’s kiss in a sortie like this.
Oh yes, i do love the pave low too. Its can tank a lot of hits from small arms too.
Since ED is currently making the Chinook, let's see what it version will it be & what it has to offer
Flying the hip (and the hind) in the ECW server has been my almost only flight time in DCS, since i discovered this server... Sneaking to blue bases and droping troops is crazy and most of the times i get shotdown halfway, but when i do it, it feels great :D ... my only complain about the hip, the AI gunners are nothing more than passengers... guess they like more drinking their russian vodka, than doing their job :D
I agreed! Once a while, we try to create excitement by doing these crazy mission rather than the routine mud moving stuff. I wish one day the gunners can call out targets proactively, that would be fun

I can’t wait for the next sale so I can get the MI8. I did the trial and loved the cockpit view. Only worry is the Russian cockpits like the MI24 is crazy complicated.
It does look complicated at first but after a few flights you will get used to it. Great choice to get this module as she can do troops transport & act as a gunship at the same time. Im loving it!

it was set by the server, i just got to know this was the Enigma backup server. the Hip by default have the back door removed if you didnt select rear gunner

im not sure. it was set server side. i didn't do anything in the rearm menu

Its the iranian air force skin. For some reason we cannot change the skin in the loadout menu. The default skin is the one in the video. I would prefer a different skin tho
