My first dog was a Golden Retriver. My second dog was a Rodesian Ridgeback. When mature I could handle both dogs off leash i any condisions. Even if there were lots of hares or dears all around us. The Golden could be left outside department stores in the city center off leash without any problems. With the Rodesian I never kept him off leash when around a lot of people. Mostly becouse some people could be scared of a dog looking like that. They coulöd not know that he was the sweetest dog ever. We have now gotten on a bit in age, If we were to get another dog after retirement I think a smaller dig would be best. It must still be a robust dog which could be handled off leash in the wild and in the city around people. Ideally it should be watchful and if need be able to protect us, or at least intimidate would be attackers. I would also want it to be able to go with us in our sailing dingy and it should be able to swim in case falling over board. I think that the Staffie is a robust and great looking dog. Do you think that it would be able to fill the requirements above? Or do you have a recommendation for a more suitable breeed?
Thank you that was really interesting however I still don't know what my dogs crossbreed with, I think he's a mix of French bulldog and a staffy but he is only 3 months old and we had no info when we got him so it's hard to tell
Sadly we're unable to recommend dogs as there are so many personal factors to think about. We do have a few different episodes on our channels on what to think through. I got a frenchie cross staff . I've never had so much attention with a dog . She got bat ears . She got bulldog tail . She has an amazing stocky really well proportioned body . Frenchie brain for certain . She doesn't look for fights but can defend herself exceptionally well . I would say it's a good cross . Ive just bred her with a staff and expect some really tidy looking puppies tbh
I really want a staffy but sadly cant get one. I am not able to stay at home much so I'm gonna have to choose the Bull dog. Gonna be a tuff time training it
Tror inte du vet vad du pratar om. Fransk Bulldog har precis som Staffe svårt att vara ensam långa perioder. Dom är heller inte speciellt svåra att träna och klarar av det mesta med bra träning och rätt motivation. Tror du ska läsa på innan du skaffar någon hund och se till att du verkligen har tiden att bry dig om den oavsett hundras, alla hundar tar mycket tid.
