20 teams in the next 7-8 years only a matter of time sadly Bears won’t be considered even if Central Coast Bears makes all the sense.
But it’d be great to see NSW cup be more like Qcup in that these OG clubs have their own identity like the Bears and Jets or like the Dolphins have done. As feeder clubs instead of just a reserve grade Roosters Dogs Eels ect.
Or flip side they did a full relegation promotion based system so the Bears & other clubs have a chance to rise up into the NRL. But it’ll never happen

Central Coast really does make all the sense. Even if a new league were to start up from nothing, it’s a no-brainer having a team there. The only thing that has worked against the Bears for the last 20 years is that they happen to be in a state with too many teams as it is.

A 20 team comp sounds good but who would be the 3 other teams? Bears and Jets probably won't be considered due to the glut of teams in and around Sydney and resentment from teams that were forced to merge (West's, Dragons) so if a Central Coast team was 1, where for the other 2? Perth? Adelaide?

Why are they so Blind ?
There has to be Expansion but obviously everyone can't be in it straight away.
Has to be a National second tier and they should have done it 26 years ago. Could have saved the Famous Old Clubs plus any New Franchises.
Could call it The NRL 2 or Chamionship and promote it like the NRL. They could play double headers with the NRL Teams, have their own Magic Rounds also.
It would be the way to go forward where it would become more Inclusive and more National.
    Eventually down the track
Promotion/ Relegation so every team has a chance to compete in the NRL.
I mean I way prefer to see my team in a Relevant competition with a chance to return to the Top Tier rather than see my team merge or become Defunct and Die.
    Take note Rich Dudes 😏
Cut me in some shares or % when you use this idea 😂
If there is Two Tiers then there isn't too many Sydney Teams anymore.
Which us ridiculous ? Sydney is Huge and only getting Bigger.

It would've been good at the time and isn't too late. Having an elite 2nd tier raises the prestige of NRL, creates a new economy of Rugby League. They can use the existing infrastructure NSW Cup and QLD Cup and the "B" teams stay a tier lower. Noone wants to see their own team relegated but it's part of the beauty of P/R it helps create folklore and rivalries. Look at the Bears, they've managed to survive with something worse than relegation for DECADES. Good to see them back, would like promotion relegation for the good of the sport, and creates a "new" economy with another league fighting to compete/stay in the NRL. With the added professionalism, higher stakes, TV money the NSW and QLD cups will become amazing to compete in, let alone the NRL

We can’t get enough quality first grade players for the tigers and the dogs, how can we expand to yet another team.
Manly can’t afford to bail the bears out again.

Plenty of quality players going around. This year, Bears alone have won the NSW Cup minor premiership with almost 90% of the players being Bears contracted and not NRL affiliated.
Also, Manly never bailed them out. They weren't in great shape either, ranking only 13th out of 14 teams by the end of "99. They couldn't afford to bail out anyone, but they knew they'd get more money from Norths Leagues Club during the duration of the Northern Eagles ($4 mil), plus another $8 mil as incentive from the NRL by entering a joint venture, which they should have had to pay back once the arrangement fell through.
