    Test rode the 1600B twice here just the other day at Bike Week. Came away immensely impressed. Unbelievable power... this'd smoke any H-D bagger. And I have a '19 Limited with a Stage III 117 kit on the motor. I love it but this bike's performance is next level - and at a price very competitive with Harley. I have to chuckle at the "not a chance" comments. You could spend more than twice what this bike costs on an accessorized CVO and not come close to its capabilities.

    In 2019 I traded my 2013 K1600 GTL with 53K on it for a 2019 Gold Wing DCT. I really like the Wing and the DCT and I do not have any negative to say about it. Although it is not, the K1600 felt much heavier then the Wing. After put 19K on the Wing, I traded back to another K1600 in the summer of 2020. The power, the sound, and the sporty feel of the BMW is a huge rush!

    The K bike has lots more power than the wing, and more nifty in the corner, but I found it more top heavy. The wing is such a great ride and the low center of gravity makes it hard to beat. Both are great bikes,! The BMW dealer near me SUCKS so that doesn't help them lol

    FLYANDRIDE15, I'm curious to hear your thoughts compared to your CVO. I'm considering the K1600b this spring and all my friends ride HD. I love the comradery of the HD, but bang for buck the K1600 seems like a no brainer. The current CVO is almost twice the starting price...

    • @FLYANDRIDE15
      @FLYANDRIDE15  9 місяців тому +2

      Thanks for watching and commenting. Man, that’s a tough choice. Here’s what I will say, they are two completely different machines and I would argue can’t even be compared on the same class(despite they are both “baggers”). I think the CVO is the ultimate cruising and all around best baggers out there and if I were buying for first time, I would go with CVO. That said, if you want value for money, super fast, highly capable sport touring rocket that happens to have bags, go with k1600. That help? 😆

      @@FLYANDRIDE15Thanks for the reply and feedback! I'm currently riding a 2022 Ducati Diavel 1260s, so transitioning to a bagger from that, the logical choice seems to be the K1600. I can't say I'd want to own a K1600, but I do own a gen6 Goldwing Tour(so that answers that question). The Wing is just a good riding bike that's super comfortable, especially for my wife when she's aboard. I'm sure the K1600 would walk all over the Wing performance wise, but on the road, in the reality of riding the Wing has plenty good power and handling. After 10 years on a Victory XC, I finally got used to having my feet under me on the Honda, now my feet spend most of the time there and I hardly ever use the "highway pegs" I put on for a feet forward position.

      @@FLYANDRIDE15 I also own a 2022 Kawasaki ZX-14R. That bike is really "smooth." I can use it in sixth gear at 50 miles per hour, and it's a sweet ride. With it, I don't feel any noise from the imperfections of the asphalt, something that the BMW brake discs do all the time. The BMW gearbox is efficient, yes, and as precise as the ZX-14R, but infinitely clunky. The BMW drive shaft... you have to get used to ride this bike to avoid it making noises with each acceleration/deceleration. And finally, the BMW is unstable at high speed and for that reason, it is electronically limited to 65% of its operating capacity. Not to mention the terrible lag that the accelerator has, as it comes from the factory.. .All the topics that have been discussed in the K1600 forums. Are not just personal opinions, but a general consensus.
      In general, assuming that it is a motorcycle developed as a luxurious vehicle, I see too many defects to correct to maintain that status. They are not huge defects, but come on BMW...have a little more vocation in your "high-end" motorcycles!

    I'm mostly a lifetime HD rider, but after a roughly two-year drought, I bought a new z900rs café (it's the retro 70s look of the Z-1s, mixed with modern tech). Anyway, I just wanted something different for an interim. I doubt I'll ever sell it, but add to it. Always had a Softail and a bagger when I was single. Well, I'm single again and broke, so it'll be a spell before I get my 2nd bike for the stable. I'm wondering how this compares to the Kawa zx14r? I hear they're pretty darn comfy and smooth - and probably faster than this beemer. Anyone know? With the right bars and bags...? Used ones are hella cheap.
    EDIT - I know most people would say the Concurs is a better comparison, but I believe it's out of production. Same engine though.

The driving experience is closer to an extremely heavy tailfin Cadillac with a creamy multi-cylinder engine and impressive road holding. The RT is the better motorcycle for motorcyclists in Europe. Expand your horizons. So many good bikes out there to limit yourself to one brand.

      @@kugangles9860 I just absolutely love my Harley it’s the first brand I’ve bought and I’m very happy with it I don’t have a reason to buy anything else I don’t bash people for what they ride I’m just glad to see people out there riding.

      You don’t have to sell your Harley, but at least try other motorcycles before you leave this earth. You should try as many motorcycles as you can, especially since you like to be in the wind.!!! you might change your mind and put another bike in your garage next to your Harley!👍🇺🇸😎

      @@kugangles9860 I agree. Ive owned 7 HDs 3BMWs 3 Victories and a Goldwing. I have also had several sport bikes and all have good and bad things about them. Harley fan boys make me laugh, they act like HD is the only bike on the road. Very shallow way to think.

    Nice review, enjoyed watching, but I'll keep my Rocket 3 Storm. Even the BMW dealership was like "Yeah, we can't show you a better bike", lol

      @@FLYANDRIDE15 Yes you do! I've been riding almost 30 years, and have owned multiple Harleys. The Rocket is the machine I've been praying Harley would make all these years. They never did, so I went British.
