Barbara, Your presentations are so rich. I am enjoying reading your book and watching your videos. Your clear, methodical demonstrations are such pleasures.
Thank you for sharing Barbara. Not only do I admire your talent but also the way you have organized your turning experience into a teachable way of looking at multi-axis turning. Much appreciated!
That was a great demonstration Barbra!! A few months ago I came across one of your videos on multi axis turning. I believe it was the one where you were teaching a group to do a twisted cup. I tried it and did pretty well with it. I was more into turning pens at the time. I have been doing some experimenting with different pen blanks. So a month ago I took a red oak pen blank and did a multi axis turning and it came out awesome looking. The only thing is that I need a thick enough blank and I had to go from live centers to mandrel and back. It does need work to get it just right. The thickness of the blank and that the ends match the hardware. Seeing your video gave me the idea. Thank you
Barbara, thank you so much for sharing. I've only been turning a few months and discovered multi-axis work a couple months back. I've done quite a bit of "trial by error" with mixed results. Your four quadrant approach has demystified the art and I'm looking forward to a much steeper learning curve as a consequence. Cheers, Gord
Experimenting with off center turning seems like a logical evolution of my interest in wood turning, and hearing it explained by you is always an eye and mind opener. With all my respects to the "feel" of the craft, some times it helps if someone defines a set of "rules" to help you wrap your head around the concept. So yeah, thank you again :)
Hello Barbra, I'm awaiting your book I just ordered and after watching this video I know it's going to be a lot of fun. I'm looking forward to this new challenge. Thanks so much for passing on your knowledge in this area! I just got done setting up my new PM3520C lathe so the first thing I'll be doing on it will be multi-axis turning.
Thanks Barbra! - I'll miss seeing you at CVW meetings. Let me know if you are coming to Colorado where I relocated. You look great! - Hope your good health stays with you. Jim Kueck
