You know you're a guitar nerd when you giggle every time Phil X does something epic. You did it, I did it, most of us here were doing it. That was a lot of giggling. Good shit.
I've been meaning to say this since the videos starting coming out and now that Phil has mentioned it, I'm going to say it and right here on your channel, Robert: this event should've been called GuitNerdCon, because you're the geekiest, nerdiest bunch of guitar players ever to be put together. Even more than the G's! xD It's been an absolute pleasure watching you guys. : )
Man I remember being like 13 watching fretted Americana with my dad and now that I’m in my twenties I love rob baker and seeing Phil on here was really cool. Great colab
Now that's something to see !!!! 2 people jamming with a high level of musicianship improvising... It was great to see the interplay. It's inspiring. Thanks Ed Vara
Hey guys. I just captured History. Not only did you two pull off about 10 minutes of improve riffage, but you did it at a perfect 4/4 101 bpm! The whole frickin time! I captured it on video using a drum app and my record screen cam. I don’t know any drummers that are as good on their meter. I will upload, if Robert has no issue with that.
Phil has come miles and miles from kitchener/toronto to the rest of the world but still the most down to earth amazing guy and wicked player there is. this is why the worlds best respect him, because he has joined their ranks
Just... freakin...awesome.....I get so damn inspired everytime I watch Phil, ( Cant watch Phil without a git in my hands..) and to watch you two pull it out like that....great. Very Cool Robert...VERY cool. Tell Billy I said hi! LOL
Tasty riffage boys!! You two compliment each others' rock tones really well. Similar groove, but you still each have a unique voice. You's should start a band...
This is the first time I've ever heard someone endorse the 9.5 - 44 gauge! I've been using them for years at standard tuning and they do exactly what you think they would - sit perfectly between too thin and too thick (for my style anyway).
I dont think anyone would be able to follow that last Phil X riff....you could even see in Phil's face right before he played it that something big was coming. The "flurry riff"!
i bet they could keep this up for an hour minimum and laugh about it. i aspire to be this creative in my guitar playing...i tried this with a buddy and we were both stumped after 3 licks. jesus. lol rock on guys!
Robert, this would be amazing with bass and drums. Maybe using a digitech trio pedal. Edit: LOL, now that I've watched the whole video I see that Phil X said that.
I am familiar with both of these players. Robert plays it a little closer to the vest older school, and we know Phil X can be dangerous, so I'm watching this, and you know, if they wuz "cuttin' heads", Robert was sneaking a few rounds here and there, generally things were goin well, I'm thinkin', yeah, maybe I could hang on a good night for 2 or 3 rounds, then about 1/2 way through, Phil throws in this unhinged superblurry bendoramic Phil X ,no, PHIL FUCKIN X!!!!!! lick, you all heard it, and If it was me sitting there in Roberts shoes, I think I would probably hit my low e tuner, go BWAAAAAAANNNNGGG, oh, dude, I'm dead, so dead, theres blood on the floor, ooooh, good bye cruel world, goodbye cruel Phil X, I DIIIIIE! and just flop over. Wow, what a lick. I really liked the whole idea of this jam. Very cool!
The Man The Myth THE X!!!
That guy is sick!!!!!! OMFG!!!!
What was the guitar Rob was using?
It's a Framus Panthera.
Robert Baker Overall? I think I preferred your licks to Philthy's dude.
Robert, I liked your tone better.

That's the best one yet Robert!!! Every time I see Phil X play it's like the best guitar lesson I've ever had!!!
I don't often laugh out loud at anything but the FJ-OD is BRILLIANT!!!! Love the switch too!! Phil X is the MAN!!!
+Shawn Tubbs haha at first I thought he was joking. Hope you can go next year man.
Right on Robert!
Man I remember being like 13 watching fretted Americana with my dad and now that I’m in my twenties I love rob baker and seeing Phil on here was really cool. Great colab

Phil has come miles and miles from kitchener/toronto
to the rest of the world but still the most down to earth
amazing guy and wicked player there is.
this is why the worlds best respect him, because he has joined their ranks
Paul Gilbert would fit into that down-to-earth, amazing category, as well.
Getting away from here helps. haha He gave me my first, and only guitar lesson back in '85. Phil is the coolest dude. Humble AND nuts. haha :D
Pure talent guy's love it.

Just... freakin...awesome.....I get so damn inspired everytime I watch Phil, ( Cant watch Phil without a git in my hands..) and to watch you two pull it out like that....great. Very Cool Robert...VERY cool. Tell Billy I said hi! LOL
Phil X sounds like he's playing a flamethrower through a woodchipper. It's glorious, he's really has the best guitar tone.
That was fucking superb guys.
the bit you do at 10:30 is one of my favorite things ever!
My favorite lick of the video 7:50-8:00 :) Nice job Robert you and Phil rocked 🤘🏻

Fantastic gents!! This is too cool!
Tasty riffage boys!! You two compliment each others' rock tones really well. Similar groove, but you still each have a unique voice.
You's should start a band...
Killer vid, killer idea. What's that tune X plays at 8:00? I know i've heard him play that before but can't find it.

Hell yeah, Bobby Baker always rockin' those jams. 👏
The joy shines through! =)
That little Jam reminded me of Peacemaker die by extreme.
That was awesome Robert. Well one :)

Phil looks like Eddie Vedder's Metal cousin lol
that was really cool, I so got into the groove
Another demonstration that rhythm and good time is more important than note choice - regardless of genre or style.
I dont think anyone would be able to follow that last Phil X riff....you could even see in Phil's face right before he played it that something big was coming. The "flurry riff"!
You two remind me of a friend and me. Baker is always plays heavyblues and Phil trys to push it into heavier stuff
One, great video.! 2 the what Jazz petal?! That's hilarious! Does the switch really say good amps and S amps? Nice!
Loved.

Phil’s riff at 12:26 🙌🙌

The riffs seems to be inspired by "Always On The Run" by Lenny Kravitz and Slash
I was smiling thru the whole fucking thing.....great vid....🤘☠️🤘
i bet they could keep this up for an hour minimum and laugh about it. i aspire to be this creative in my guitar playing...i tried this with a buddy and we were both stumped after 3 licks. jesus. lol rock on guys!

Phil's tone is fucking amazing
Damn, you are an awesome guitarist!
Robert, this would be amazing with bass and drums. Maybe using a digitech trio pedal. Edit: LOL, now that I've watched the whole video I see that Phil X said that.
