Somebody once told me.....
Before the year 2001, ogres were considered scary monsters. After 2001 they were sexy.
Brace yourselves, Shrek-related comments are coming.
I always find it interesting that so many of these mythical creatures span in one form or another across the globe.
If Ogres originally is a French word, does that mean Ogres have a French accent? And could you rp one by trying to impersonate the late Andre The Giant?
You know ogre sound similar to trolls just to be honest right now
I have never seen a depiction of a western ogre. I always associate the word with the Japanese Oni because they were pretty common in anime.
Shrek in real life:
Ogres. My favorite fantasy race in all pop-culture and multi-media. Ever since Warcraft 2: Tides of Darkness. Been waiting to play as them in World of Warcraft. 17 years later......
In 2001-2010 DreamWorks Animation created the most iconic characters of DreamWorks based from Williams Steig book of the same name "SHReK".
WHAT.
"Ogres are like onions.

Recently gained a new appreciation for ogres
Honestly the ogre/troll/nephilim's similarities to sasquatch/yeti/yeren is something that I think gets overlooked. Hairy giants in the forest. Even more troubling when you consider yeti are known man eaters and several bigfoot stories, look into David Paulides sometime, involve kidnapping children and lone strangers.
In the old English poem Beowulf ogres are said to be descendents of Cain from the bible
I'm surprised that this doesn't have A lot more views.
they also make your freshly cut skin into a soup, shake your livers and squeeze the jelly from your eyes (it actually goes good on toast)
OH HELLO THERE!!!!
