Been using TickTick for about two years and this is the first clear explanation of lists I've seen. Checking out your in-depth vid on lists next. Thanks!
I was really hoping you would cover Smart Lists. The widget config talks about showing Smart lists but I’ve been having a hard time finding more information about that. I really enjoyed your video and you have a good presentation style, just enough detail and not too much Well, done
Hi Joshua, how do you delete a folder you created by mistake? There is no delete anywhere I looked. I thought I was creating titles for Kanban; I was not.
Hi Joshua. Congrats on a fantastic tutorial series for Ticktick. It's invaluable. I notice that when entering text into task, notes etc, that there is an 'embed' function. Are you aware if say a UA-cam video can be embedded into a not or task? Any help would be most appreciated. Cheers Phil
Hi Philip, thanks for the kind words! I have never seen an 'embed' function. Where are you seeing this? Can you describe in more detail how you are getting to the embed function? Also, what platform are you using - Web app, Windows, iPhone, etc? Thanks!!
@@JoshuaBest Hi Joshua. Thank you so much for your prompt reply. I've tried on the Windows App and the Web App. On the lower right portion of the task pane there is an underscored A which brings up the 'Text Fomat' function. When you click on this it shows various text formatting options including 'Code' just to the right of the 'Link" icon. I was just presuming that a code snippet could be entered here to enable embedding....but I could be wrong. 😀
Ah, I see. No, unfortunately that is not a way to embed a UA-cam video or anything like that. That just denotes the block of text as a programming code (HTML, JavaScript, etc). So it's useful to programmers who are documenting snippets of code, for example.
I'm having a hard time seeing the value of folders. I can't make sections within a folder, only within a list. When I merged two lists into a folder, the sections that were in the lists lost the section header and just became a series of list items. If you have a chance, would you mind sharing ideas as to the value of using a folder, e.g.: any benefits it has over a list with sections? Thank you very much! For now, I'm sticking with lists and sections.
I think the idea of a folder is that it's just a group of lists. They don't have much functionality aside from grouping lists together. But they are useful if you have so many lists that it's better to be able to only look at one group of lists at a time while keeping the rest collapsed under the folder.
I haven't done any in-depth videos on notes. I'm just starting to use them more in TickTick. I did have a video on one way to use them for a Weekly Log --> ua-cam.com/video/8UNlEaH4VK8/v-deo.html
I use them in several places. One is to remember lists like B, KB, MG, GB, TB or my favorite restaurant at the airport (and where it is); then I have a few restaurants we like while travelling, or just a new drink I tried and liked. The last list I have is my menu and the meals are notes.

@@JoshuaBest Yeah, I think you are right. I just set up everything using lists, sections, and lists within the sections. Still tidy. Thank you!
Would love to see how anyone used the notes feature

@@JoshuaBest will you bring getting to those ? Not one person has touched in it and you should be the first
