Add a pikachu in veridian forest n you get a cheese for 2nd gym from that onwards u hands on steamroll into free lapras and finding a ground, psychic, etc.
But gen 3, hands down, mudkip.
Oh and back then grass is super effective if attacked by psychic. Until gen 4

@@deltazard_ex i was more coming from the angle of they were hyping up Whishcash for having the water ground typing, but trashed mudkip for having the exact same typing in its evolution. This is all ignoring the fact that Swampert is by far, BY FAR the strongest starter for Hoenn’s battles, and one of the most busted pokemon for Hoenn, while whishcash is at best just an okay pokemon.

@@deltazard_ex this point would stand if you don't prep for it, but most people would know to bait grass moves w/ swampert to pull out whichever bird you caught in the first route of that game. For the most part, those two can swap to eachother depending on what they're fighting against, so there's nothing to worry about.

Never thought I'd watch a Halo video in which four spartans argue over pokemon, but here we are and it's amusing then I'd imagine it be.

Yhea, it's like 4 grown adult between 25 and 37 years old or more, chilling on a couch with some snacks just debating nostalgia stuff including video games, high school memories or other similar topic that just bring back memories that you can laugh about!
(i'am 21 but i would see myself years later talking with my siblings or friends, just chilling and having a good talk sharing memories with them)

I feel like having the Spartan 4s be characterized as being a lot more eccentric than the previous generations would be a good direction for them. We’ve already got the 2s and 3s for stoic badasses, the 4s should be less like Palmer and Locke and more like Buck.
Basically like going from DEVGRU/MARSOC to National Guard Special Forces. Same skillsets, same jobs, different attitudes.
(Yes, every US state's National Guard has Special Forces units. I have no idea why.)
I could even imagine Spartan 4s going full GenZ stuff like:
- yelling "Kobe!" when throwing an impossible grenade throw;
- sending selfies as the pictures for mission relatories;
- screaming "YEET!" when they make an orbital drop and blow everybody;
- scream "THESE HANDS ARE RATED 'E' FOR 'EVERYBODY'!" while going in a rampage killing entire batallions of Covenant;
- "tactically aquire" anything that is not nailed to the ground because they need to make their base "based";
- going full "Fuck you, Command!" whenever they see the opportunity for victory, and when they receive the reprimand, they just say: "Hey, while you were here acting like a scared bitch, we defeated the Covvies and won the battle. POG!";

If I remember right, I believe the newer Spartans are moreso modeled (in training) after Srgt. Johnson. Basically took his training and combined it with 2's and 3's to have maximum coverage in combat through mentality and physicality.

the funniest thing about this entire video is that, when i was in the army, half my platoon would be having these kind of conversations *while actively playing pokemon on emulators on our phones* while waiting around for formation or on extended shifts, or whatever and we were just killing time. 500 years from now, there's no doubt that military members would be having similar conversations, just sitting around shooting the shit while they're waiting for their commander to release them for the weekend.
I like to think that when Lt. Surge says electric types "saved" him during his service, it was really just his Electabuzz jump-starting his squad's truck so they could get into town before the bars closed.
Dude navy man here and I completely understand that. While out at sea we would talk about all kinds of shit like this just to stay awake at like 2 in the morning.

Yeah that's because Machinima was literally butt fucking everyone involved all the while everyone watching and enjoying the Halo content are none the wiser about what was going on behind the scenes. I remember Machinima, equal to what most companies do anyways so by todays standards that is pretty normal now.
The way these Spartans are chillaxing matches the conversation so well. They really look like they are talking to each other lol. This video was so well done. I laughed so many times.

You start off standing ready to fight, 2 people and you are sitting but still alert, 3 and you are just chilling like “eh I’ll do it later” and 4 players and your sat on a crate laying back just fully relaxed
If you get 5 I’m pretty sure you’ll have a guy sleeping on the floor and 6 you get master cheeks with no armour on level of relaxed

Somehow I never even once considered that the Gen 1 starters were literally a difficulty system... It makes so much sense when you explain it, but somehow I never realized that was a thing.
And I was a squirtle guy, mainly because I always liked water types, and blastoise looks sick as fuck with literal canons coming out of his back.
Funny how everyone uses the "difficulty" argument as a point for charmander but a point against chikorita.
@@Superluigi881 Not to be that guy, but chikorita doesn't perform as well as totodile and cyndaquil past the first two gyms. Charmander catches back up to squirtle and bulbasaur and even surpasses them at points later in the game. There is not one gym where chikorita excels ahead of the other two. Meanwhile, charmander surpasses its other starters in gym four, and then it's kind of an even spreadsheet for the gen one starters. Chikorita just literally got counter picked, that's all it is. But to be fair, some of the other grass starters (if they were there as opposed to chikorita) would've been in the same boat as chikorita. Gen two was just not it for grass starters, whereas gen one, AT FIRST, is unfair to fire starters, but got better.
@@RGNGMN I don’t know totodile isn’t all that good either, at least in the original gen 2 games. Seeing how it’s a physical attacker and all water type moves at that point where special attack, just outclassed by basically every other water type.
Charmander was always the ultimate easy mode for me back in the original red and blue. Even the first two gyms.
Because by the time I got to brock I had a level 13 butterfree that one shot both his mons with Confusion, and Bellsprouts are all over next to Cerulean, so Misty was no problem.
Bulbasaur was a chad because he was super difficult for me at all points of the game.
@@corruptcamerupt2344 You right. But you also stated how other Water types outclass totodile. So if you didn't pick totodile as your starter then you could still have a good water type for your playthrough.
Honestly the few moments where the movements of their avatars actually match what their saying, (like when they point or lurch at just the right moment for when someone makes a point or laughs) make the video 10x better 😂

I'm just now realizing this after rewatching this video again, but when Jared was talking about how awesome Whiscash is cause he's Water and Ground type, I'm a little surprised that Ben didn't mention that because he's both of those types, he's also super weak to grass types. Meaning, if Whiscash encounters any grass type, it'll get destroyed (and it would've been a little funnier if they did that cause Ben is pro grass type as they portrayed it in this video). Anyway, if I have to pick a favorite scene from this video, it would have to be the whole Heatran getting clapped by those other legendaries. That was funny with the little clapped video they kept playing with it. Edit: And also, the scene with the 75% water part. Really liked that part.

Back in the old days of a forgotten childhood, I accidently picked Bulbasaur not knowing how to get Charmander in Gen 1. Needless to say, by the time I got to the elite four, using cut on Venasaur instakilled anything even when it wasnt effective. Haha. That hemp dino carried.

In Gen 1, Bulbasaur is the best type as he's strong against the first two gyms, and has a poison immunity due to being part poison himself

Dude, I can’t express how much I love this. I remember back in ‘07-‘09 sitting in the Halo 3 menus with the boys and just talking. Sure we could have joined a party and then went off and did our own shit but we all just sat there in lobby talking for hours.
