What Five Ten shoes have you owned over the years? Let us know!
Chain Reaction Cycles I own the Impact and freerider Pro and just ordered the mid ones today👍
I've just bought a pair. I have never owned bike specific shoes before. They have given my riding a definite bonus. Grip on the pedals is enhanced and the stiffer sole gives (seems to me) more positive force when pedalling. If you already own bike shoes I don't think these will be any kind of revelation but for this first timer they are definitely a win win.
I bought these and as soon as I tried them on I loved them. They are so comfrotable and they made me want to get off the couch and go for a ride. FedEx delivered them, I tried them on, made espresso and headed for the trail. That being said, on the trail I started to have some second thoughts. I had a lot of trouble feeling "set" on my pedals. On the first ride, I didn't know if I would want to use them on a rocky trail like those at Elizabeth Furnace in the Shenandoah Mountains becuase I would not feel confident going downhill over those rocks. I even had trouble feeling "stuck" on climbs. When I got home I studied the bottom of the shoe and feel that taller dots would maybe give me a better grip. The grip is way different from my High Impacts, which I love. I bought the Trailcross models in order to save my High Impacts for cold-weather riding. That being said I am 50 years old and have never been able to bunny hop very high so I am always looking for good grip. The comfort is unmatched but for some of us riders I wish the dots were maybe taller to help us get a better feel and a more confident grip for more technical rides. My grade wouyld be 98% for comfort and 35% for grip. They feel true to size in terms of sizing. Maybe if I sharpen my pedal pins into little spear heads I will have better grip!
Was 100% on purchasing a fresh pair of freerider pros, same colour and everything. Saw these and was instantly sold. The green LTs look soooooowww nice
I can’t wait to get a pair! Definitely getting the short version and probably the gortex as well.
These look promising! One of the first mountain bike shoes I've seen that truly seems new (technically, material wise, and style wise). Hopefully there's more color options in the works.
Thank you!
I've got a pair of the previous Trail Cross like the new Mid Pro. I'll probably get a low for general riding/commuting and the mid or gore tex for hitting the trails. Relegate my current pair for volunteer trail work.
Just ordered the Mid ones and will also buy the Goretex ones when they are finally released 👍
I have some black ones on the way...I wish they had those blue ones in the render available, they looked cool!
Less flat skate shoe design, more supportive athletic shoe lasts, perfect
Thanks so much for the helpful video. Is Five Ten making these in women's? This is such a fantastic design for biking and hiking, and it would be a shame if they only made these in men's.
I’ve already got terrex trailcross sl trainers, protect boots, freerider dlx and now looking to replace my terrex trainers with the trailcross lts. waiting on the goretex mid pro boots first
NICE
Look good but I can’t find them for sale on your website?
Like five ten approach shoes? I use approach for trekking hiking and city. Are these similar?
I got rid of my Fiveten Freeriders in favour of the Adidas Terrex Trail Cross. Much stiffer sole which feels more like a clipless shoe when pedalling, better for hiking sections, narrower and less clumsy on the bike, and look more like a trainer than a skate shoe, so don't look daft on my gravel bike either. These look like the Fiveten version of them 👍 I like.
I could use some that breath better for the Arizona summers. These are looking promising. In currently using the ImpactPro. They are a bit warm.
They are on sale right now. I have the low and midpros, prefer the midpros due to sock inserts preventing pebbles getting into the shoes. Sole is as stiff as impact pros but the rest of the shoes just feel like regular sneakers.
@@daxolivares6939 Thanks for chiming in! Im also interested in buying these shoes!
I hear you need to size down a 1/2 size for the midpros. Do you have to do this with the Lowtop as well? Do the 2 shoes fit similar?
Thanks
@@kmagrum76 nope, just got my regular 10.5 size but they do tend to be a little larger.
francis olivares Thanks for the input! 👍🏼
Whilst I’m sure they work brilliantly, retaining the legendary grip and using D30 and Goretex... I can’t help thinking that they look fussy and in turn expensive to produce. I’ve recently become a Ride Concept convert ... RC being simple in design, easy to maintain, very well priced and using all the right technologies like D30 and variable grip grading on their soles. I’ve always worn Adidas Original trainers my entire life but that brand loyalty wasn’t enough to convince me to ride using Adidas... it’s RC for me for the foreseeable and it’s my belief that their products will be giving 5/10 some stiff competition if they’re not already
RC's pricing tops out around $160. Not sure where you're getting that well-priced POV. I've got the previous generation Trailcross and they're comfortable all day long on or off the bike. Happy to see a direct replacement for my current shoes.
At a quick google glance, RC shoes are $100-160, maybe slightly more or less.
I've picked up two pairs of five tens flats and clipless new for $80, best cycling shoe investment I've made. Five Ten is tried and true.
Does Sam Hill endorsed them? Then I will buy them.
Are they ok for trekking?
Now if Covid would get over and they can start producing them in the numbers needed. Tried to buy but couldn’t find any.
How come on Adidas website they dont exist ??
I have these and I have to say im disappointed. The LT (short or Low Top) they padding around the heel and ankle with that padding there leaves a big gap which leaves access for dirt and debris to get it. After every ride I had a bunch of debris. I might get the mid version but I wouldn't get the short version and sizing is off almost every review mentions it.
Was this video glitching for anyone else? Feel like I am having a stroke
😶
Shame it has no cleat provision.
adidas verstand und versteht einfach nicht auf welchen Style Mountainbiker stehen...
The "eyes and voice of the customer" should be fired.
At once!👍🏻
