I think it’s beautiful how much people love their dogs. I love my beautiful mini dachshund Roxie who I just lost, she was my best friend. 💔😢 Her sister is still with me, but she’s getting old, and she misses her sister, so she too is winding down, I’ll be devastated all over again, but until then, I will continue to treat her as the beautiful little creature she is. ♥️🥲
This recipe is my go to! They're a staple in my house& my dogs are SO Thankful ☺️🤭😂I ❤ my fur babies & these are SO dang easy & QUICK there's just no excuse for me not to make em! 😊👍🏻🐶❤
This is a great idea for pill pockets, my GR has just had a month on six pills a day, nightmare - I was buying soft pate but that isn't healthy for so long, then I tried soft factory made white bread, she didn't like that and spat pill and bread out together, then I tried putting them in little balls of soft cheese, she spat the pill out and ate the cheese. Thank you for this absolutely fantastic idea. p.s. treatment over, she is 100% back to normal. p.p.s. Kiara is gorgeous and adorable.
I rescued a dog exactly like yours but he is a male. He's ready up for adoption. About 5 years old, he also has seizures, once a month, adorable, super easy, sooo calm. Will make these treats for him.
Omg this is best thing ive ever made! I hust put them in the freezer! I'll update in about 20 minutes! (But I only had natural peanut butter and my dog didn't like the mix) but hopefully he'll like the treats! 🥰 once again, thank you so much! 🙌
Hi, Heather. Thanks for this recipe for use as a pill pocket (or treat). We have several rescues that need medication daily and they seem to quickly tire of Velveeta or slices of weiner. . Just a FYI, oats do not come from wheat, so the oats/oatmeal is not "whole wheat." Not trying to be a know-it-all (and in fact, what I don't know WAY exceeds what I do know), just letting you know. We have several Chiweenies, or as I call them -- Dachshuahua. They do have a wonderful personality, don't they?
I make these for my dog I add in organic pressed coconut oil and pumpkin puree she loves them so much. I don't add the Cinnamon though. Even though i know dogs can have it as long as it is a natural cinnamon. Dogs have way different taste sensory then we do so i just didn't see the point. Non the less love them over regular treats. You can bake them at around 400 degrees for about 15 to 20 min for easier storing.
Oh my gosh these were so good I made the mistake of licking my fingers and they are as good as any nove cookie I've ever had I had to have three or four of them and I hope my pups will share with me
Good morning! Kiara is just adorable and I see how much she loves her PB treats...are they done yet?! Lol I'm a Chiweenie and Doxie lover, they are such wonderful fur babies. Kiara reminds me of my sweet girl "Harley Sue"...she is my account pic. She used to "sit pretty" just like Kiara does. LOL I lost her 6 years ago but still can't change out the picture. I got a new Chiweenie/Doxie mix after she passed and his name is "Ziggy Lee". He is completely opposite of Harley but I love him just the same...he's my lil devil. LOL I make homemade dog treats too and have customers that really love knowing they're made with all healthy human grade ingredients. These sweet babes bring such joy to our lives and stay in our hearts forever. Ya gotta love those fur babies!! Wags and wet kisses from Texas!!🐾🐶💙🐾
this is a great treat!!!!!! my dogs try's to get them out of the top of the pantry. my dog is vary picky about his pills and he ate it all!! thanks soo much you made my life so much easier
Hi Kiara... Thank u souch for these llovely recipe... I have. A question if u cud help me... What meds do you give Kiara for her seizures? I have a girl tiny tortilla... She gets seizures too and very frequent. Nothing works for her. Pls do tell me so that I can ask my vet Nd mY e start them.. Tha ks so much. God bless
And she loves peanut butter that much instead of putting in a condensed ball spreading it inside like a dog toy or a Kong funnel. And that way she can work for it. Your dogs should always work for their treats. Loving them is good good.. but not if its bad for them.. shes eating wayyyy too much peanut butter a day.. and shes not even chewing shes just swallowing them down... for high calorie and fatty foods like that spread them out on something and have her lick it off.. like toys or spoon. I will spoon some on to her nose and its hilarious.. and shes adorable yes. But because i kno this stuff i see is she lifespan... plus shes a small breed. Chihuahuas are probe to anxiety and heart attacks... her weight doesnt help.
My dog loves these! I mean it, I had to keep him away when I was making them because he kept jumping on me and having a tantrum! I put 2 little balls in his Kong and he loves it!!! I am so happy I made these. Thank you!!!
I know im asking the wrong place but does anyone know of a method to log back into an instagram account? I somehow lost the account password. I love any help you can offer me!
@Carter Ronan I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site through google and im waiting for the hacking stuff now. Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
I store them in the freezer and then only take out a small portion at a time to use for the next few days which I store in the fridge. Then when I get down to the last two in the fridge, I add more from the freezer. This helps keep them from getting mold and allows you to make up a bunch of them ahead of time so you can just use what you need.
@@CraftyKiara Thanq for your reply 😊 Also I wanted to ask since these are not baked, which means that the oats is uncooked. Is the raw oats, as in the frozen oats is ok to be given for our fur kids?
I dont kno ypur story or your dog.. but i think your dog would benefit from daily exercise. Or help them swim that eay it alleviates the joints. Were afraid alot of times when our dogs have issues or suffer from things like seizures and we end up spoiling them and babying them. But its actually worse to do that. Not only is the extra weight killin her joints it halfens her life span expectation. Plus the stress of any situation will be heightened and can cause seizure more likely. Our dogs are a reflection on ourselves... trust me i can barely leave my bed on the daily..im not judging.. i used to be a dog trainer and i see this all the time. We love our dogs too much but it ends up harming them in the end... my dogs a rescue she hates going out . Doesnt go for walks. Has weak paws etc. And i spoil her whenever i have foods she can eat i always leave her the rest. But when you have dogs that dont like to do much.. you have to be extra careful with what you feed them. My dog does nothing but eat.. but because of that i give her mostly veggies mixed with rice and tiny bit of meat for taste. Also raw oats also blocks the body from absorption of the raw minerals. Which can contribute to her weight since its basically becomes empty calories. If you want to have them raw you can can soak the oats overnight that will remove the chemical sorry cant spell it. That blocks nutrient absorption. That will also replace the water you added in the mixture. Edit, also the amount of peanut butter your using is intense. I understand you need to do that for the recipe.. but because of that if you feel her any more than 1 of those daily.. that extra pb is nothing but fat for her. And my guess is she will cry for more... and you give in.. we need to replace that want with something else maybe a toy or just make a distraction. Dogs arent meant to eat as much as humans do and know it sounds Insane.. but with your dog breed... Her daily recommend caloric intake is ONLY about 1 cup of dog food daily. . . Think about that. That size of their stomach is originally the size of a grape.. stretched over age to about tangerine.
You probably could. I am not sure how long since they are so small. I like them in the fridge so I can put her pill in it easier without it breaking apart.
I usually just put about 14 in the fridge and freeze the rest. Once I need more they thaw quickly. I don't have too many out at a time so I can't say if they will last more than a week in the fridge.
I usually only would take out about 4 days worth at a time to make sure. They thaw fast so when I had a few left I would just pull out more before I was totally out in the fridge.
Yes. I recommend freezing most of them and keeping some in the fridge to use over the next couple of days and then moving some from the freezer to the fridge.
Good question - I am not sure what you could use that would mimic the peanut butter in terms of keeping the treats in shape since it binds the oats together. I read online that you can use almond or cashew butter, but it will need to be used in a smaller amount.

Can we use old fashioned oats ?
Kira is Jaaaacked. I love her.

I don't see why not. Pumpkin is good for dogs too.
@@CraftyKiara awesome! Thanks you!

I know this video was 8 months ago but if you can remmber how long did it take to frezze?
It was a few hours. Although I didn't really time it. They don't freeze solid, but they freeze enough to help them last.
You can put used pumpk or
Use only unsweetened peanut b and check for xylotol as poisonous for dogs.
Is cinnamon good for dogs ??
Do they have to go in the freezer?
If you feed them Oats you are suppose to cook them.
❤❤❤❤
I think these would be great if you made the oats into a flour ....and baked them.
True, you can make a flour and bake them as well.
Kiara is GORGEOUS...I could just kiss her litter snooter 💗
Hello new to making doggy treats, can we use any creamy peanut butter?
You should be able to use any. I know some people prefer organic peanut butter.
Thank you 😊
No, should be the natural one. Could be other crap added to creamy ones
I'll try this for street dogs, is it healthy for them?
I would omit the cinnamon just in case if you are giving it to dogs you don't know.

does the treat have to stay in the freezer after every time you give her one

is it okay to use milk instead of water?
Not a good idea
Milk products don't agree with many dogs
Is it okay to give uncooked oats? N can I use any oats?
You can use uncooked. I used your basic quick oats from the supermarket.
Uncooked oats are actually steamed.

Yes. I recommend freezing most of them and keeping some in the fridge to use over the next couple of days and then moving some from the freezer to the fridge.

I wouldn't myself but you might be able too. I haven't tried because this was way easier for me to do and kept them soft for her pills.

According to the AKC and my breeder cinnamon is toxic for dogs. People consult a bit before giving your pet cinnamon.
The cinnamon is not critical to the recipe so it can be omitted if you have concerns about it. Dogs like the treats either way.
A tiny amount of cinnamon is actually good for dogs
According to the AKC cinnamon is NOT toxic to dogs.
