    As a violinist myself, I chose to do this piece as a last minute solo for memorization. I have been using this video as a guide to help me practice and I think everything is great. The only complaint I have does not have to do with the piece but your bow. It tends to not be straight and moves around too much. Other than that it was played very well. Love it.

      YES! THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT I THINK!!! YOU READ MY MIND!!!

    • @noaaa5455
      @noaaa5455 4 роки тому +2

      Actually most violin pieces, especially ones with high pitch, are hard to play without moving the bow around a bit. Also it's up to personal preference. But I agree, she should be moving AWAY from the fingerboard when playing that high.

    • @skippingguy
      @skippingguy 4 роки тому +1

      @@noaaa5455 After nearly 50 years I have learned that it is not personal preference, but that the precise distance you play from the bridge greatly affects the tonal quality of each note. Closer to the bridge--thick and powerful; further from the bridge--more mellow and gentle.

    • @skippingguy
      @skippingguy 4 роки тому +1

      In fact, her performance is brilliant. All I noticed is that she has to work very hard to get the sound out of the violin when she really wants to. I definitely CANNOT play this anything close to as good as she does, but I'm just comparing her playing to some of the greats, who we can all try to emulate. I'll first work at getting somewhere as good as Ms. Singhal one day though....hopefully.

      Beccy Martin Thank you, i appreciate your advice, have you heard the other song I mentioned? I think i want to do that one because it is a lot slower. Is that not as impressive? I also just love its minor key, I dont really know what level of music i am on, right now i am playing Suzuki book 3, but i just started the Suzuki method a month ago and i started on that one. Most of the songs i have played have been in orch. Haha sorry for all the random info but i have never done a competition like this before, and my violin teacher has competed in some but she has never helped any one do it so she dosnt really know what music to use so i would love all the advice i can get :)

    • @juliedevine8654
      @juliedevine8654 9 років тому +1

      +kika +kika it's not about the tempo of the piece that you should be focusing on, it's the way you play it. If you find the saraband to be more enjoyable, PLAY IT. Don't worry about a slower piece not being impressive. If you take on a overly difficult piece that you're unsure about, it might lead to a lot of frustration. Viotti also has great pieces (if you're at that level.)

      +Julie Devine i completely agree with you said :). if there is a hard piece you would really enjoy and a simple piece that bores you completely go for the hard one... at least thats what i do. i gain tons of more experience and improve on more techniques while having lots of fun. simple songs barely help me improve and it doesnt give me to motivation to practice easy songs
