Brian, there is a direct correlation between the amount of riding videos you put out and my desire to go ride my bike! I’m so happy for you getting Everstoke setup, but man, I’ve missed your riding videos! Keep it up, brutha!
glad to see another POV trail riding vid from you brian! just saw the recent everstoke updates on aaron's channel! you guys always complete my week! stay rad guys!
Some of the best trails in California no buddy knows about. I need to get back up there because they have built so much more since I was there last time. Good stuff man!
Glad to see you in my part of the world. You make great content. Would love to see more videos of blue lake and the Arcata forest. Keep up the good work. Hope your van is up and running soon.
I absolutely love your videos! Early in spring of this year, I bought a 27.5 plus bike and had a blast this summer! This past weekend, my new fat bike arrived!! Yasss!!! I have caught myself blurting out pain and pleasure while chugging up a hill! Thank you, keep going, you are having a positive impact!!
Man I didn't want this video to end. Been kinda bummed out all day so I just kicked back, brought this up on the 70" along with a music mix I made from a year ago on u-toob with old Zep, Eagles, Joni. Sabbath - ya' know, mostly mellow, and after about 3 minutes of the music and riding my TV knobbies along with you guys, I was there and it was a great ride. lol Thanks Brian, you're alright, and I'm feelin' better now 🤙🏼
I remember a great article in Bike magazine on the Lost Coast riders 10 or 15 years ago. I'd love to ride there, too far to drive from San Diego. Thanks for sharing.
I've only been watching your videos for a short time, but I just wanted to say that you've inspired me to look into investing in a bike and taking this up as a hobby! It looks like so much fun, you always seem to enjoy yourself and I would love to give it a go! :D
You wouldn't be the first, and you wont be the last--a testament that what you're feeling is authentic and doable. It's in investment in your present and future. Do it!
That's the spirit! I hope you do. Bikes are hard to get, so be prepared. If you find a good option that fits you, BUY IT! Totally agree with the replies above. If I HAD to choose between all of my cycling options and activities and pick only one, it would, without a doubt be mountain biking. It's so varied, challenging and fun. The places you can go and see; the terrain you can challenge yourself on. From flat, fast trails, to insane rock gardens from hell! It's all out there to challenge every rider. Heck, even playing on stairs and urban obstacles (benches, ledges, etc.) is a blast. Just be forewarned that mountain biking throws a lot of steep hills at you. It's climbing, climbing, climbing when you're riding stuff like this. But totally worth it. Today's bikes make the sport really accessible. But be prepared to huff & puff on the climbs! (I say this remembering an introductory bike ride our college team took new riders on. We headed out and up the hilly streets and the new riders couldn't believe how steep the streets were. We were taken aback and thought to ourselves, "But this is the EASY part! We haven't even gotten to the trails yet!" Let's just say a few new riders that day were somewhat disillusioned by the idea of mountain biking!) So be patient and approach terrain that will give you smiles and not dread! After you put in the miles and develop endurance and strength, you'll be ready for more and more challenging terrain.
Great video of even better trails! Wow! Thank you. I've heard there's lots of really good stuff in Mendocino. Add this to the list! Man, that's some really sweet stuff through the redwoods. Kudos to the lumber company opening it up to the Redwood Coast Mountain Bike Association. The Redwood is a California gem; it would behoove us to make the north coast an epic mountain bike destination. This is another great step in that direction! I enjoyed a similar POV today: My blue Ripley ripping through Bay Area redwood single track. So much fun. PS "Hip packs," LOL! In the early 90's we called 'em FANNY PACKS and we used them out of necessity, not because we wanted to. This was before the Camel Back was invented. Can't believe they're making a come back. Hated the weight being levered off my hips, especially with two full large bottles.
Greetings from Saratov. You have interesting trails for skiing. There is a lot of nature and space. Wonderful content. Inspires to create content where to ride a mountain bike in Saratov. We have this Kumysnaya Polyana and 4 more mountains. Thank you for showing me which tracks you have.
I don't know when you were up in Oregon, but the smoke is significantly better now after we got a dump of rain last weekend. You should hit up Alsea Falls and Whypass if you're headed up to Oakridge!
I need to come down there and practice on this course. My main race here north of Vienna, Austria, has one small technical descent section that is a bit intimidating. Guess if I master these trails, this won't ever phase me again.
Great footage as always Brian. Would be nice to see the speed and gradient of the trails your riding on. It hard to see how hard/easy the trail is. Looks like America is one big MTB playground. Keep it up.
that is a really good idea! The GoPro effect always makes it difficult. I wonder if you can add an semi transparent overlay from something like strava showing real time elevation gain/loss. Speed would be interesting to see as well.
This place looks amazing! But not one game of ping pong?! Cmon! Def hope to find my way here someday thanks for the showcase 👌🏻👍🏻”neat” surely seems like an understatement….nice work red wood coast
I kept thinking of Ewoks lol! Cool. Didn’t know that trail system was up there. Looking forward to your Oregon videos. I’m heading up there in October.
You can get a month membership for $5. If you forget before you get to the gate, there is a QR code on the sign to get you to the right spot. And as Mike says, you can ride any time. I recommend parking at the Mad River Brewery. That will give you a mile to warm up the legs before the climbing starts and then you get to have a nice beer after. Win win
@@angelmoo7502 let me tell you why memberships are required. The trails are on private land and therefore we need insurance to cover the access Green Diamond has provided to us. A membership helps cover that cost in addition to other trail maintenance and development related costs. I am on the RCMBA board and we worked hard to get that access and work hard to keep that access and to expand that access. It is people like YOU that will ruin it for all. If you continue to access the trails without a membership, you are trespassing. My personal opinion of you couldn't be lower.
Sometimes it's my impression that Brian takes more unnecessary risk trying to avoid those jumps that actually if he just tried and took it at his own level. That's the way we all learn new things
Yeah, he went to that class but it does not seem like he is trying to follow through with what he learned. I honestly think he is just so scared of crashing.. he has it too hyped up. I agree, trying is the only way for him to get better.
I'm gonna give him a pass. He's so often riding totally new trails. He doesn't know how big these jumps are, how much of a gap to expect, etc. The guy he rode with has been on these a million times, so he knows what to expect, proper entry speed, the unseen landing, etc. Can't fault Brian for simply being smart to "ride another day."
@@dudeonbike800 Yeah, to some point that makes sense, and in many instances that is probably good practice. But I still think he is letting fear get the better of him for a lot of them. Even in this video there are several jumps that are fully visible and straight forward. He also has someone to pace his entry so that helps when hitting a line first time. In the end I really think he would have a blast if he keeps trying to practice this skill...but to each his own. Maybe he does not get the same satisfaction.
This is basically in my backyard as I live in McKinleyville. It’s amazing that we have this and some great trails in arcata as well.
Very cool!! I've heard things about the Community Forest, I gotta ride it some day!
@@bkxc they’ve been hard at work improving it consistently for years and it’s a blast to ride.
