Would like to know the fabric you are using, who manufactured it, and where you purchased it. You are using all these beautiful materials in your tutorials, and not giving us any information. Love your tutorials. I've learned techniques I've always been afraid to try from you. You make them look like something I can actually accomplish, instead of something I'd be sure to mess up.
Thanks for the tutorial Mimi. You explained this very well, I am definitely going to make this coat. I do have a question though. I would like to know what kind of interfacing you used, I don't think Ive seen this one. Is is a Pellon, and if so, what number is it? Thank you.
+Joy Steele Hi Joy! Mimi used a wool fabric for this coat. On the back of the pattern envelope, there are several recommended fabric that you can use. Here's the link: www.simplicity.com/p-12488-misses-plus-size-coat-by-mimi-g-style.aspx#t-1 Good luck!
I love this pattern! I can't wait to try it. I am in NY and it get pretty cold towards the winter, do you have any fabric suggestions? I never know which fabric to purchase :(
***** Hi, Thanks for your interest in the pattern. It will be available on our website this week: www.simplicity.com. Don't forget to subscribe to our UA-cam channel for more sewing videos: ua-cam.com/users/simplicityvideo. Thanks!
+Ebony Glows Hi, if you're still looking for this pattern, here's the link to our website: www.simplicity.com/p-12488-misses-plus-size-coat-by-mimi-g-style.aspx. Thanks!
The back lining and the side back lining don't match, the side back lining is a different shape to the side back fabric...I can't get the lining pieces to match up......
Really annoyed! I'm following the pattern and your tutorial but all the interfacing is facing out on my pockets and sleeve tabs. I keep having to rip them apart. I can't see where you placed the interfacing on your pockets, Mimi.
+Derena Mcdermott Hi Derena, Please call our customer service at 1-888-588-8700 or send an e-mail to info@simplicity.com and we'll be happy to answer your questions on the pockets. Thanks!
I am wondering why you don't follow the instructions that come with the pattern. Of course there is more than one way to skin a cat but it would make sense to do it in the same order as your instructions.
Mimi, I like your style and patterns. I don't like your tutorials. They are short, they feel segmented and I wish you would just show the process. I know you are trying to keep the video short. But that's kind of the issue. I KNOW, I can tell your rushing, skipping. I don't like it. You don't talk about what fabric you're using, thread, needles. Show the finished product so the video comes to completion. This is just my opinion.
I need to start this now (July) so I can be finished by winter ! LOL Great video as always.
I love that gold pin bowl!!
I was hoping to see the finished product. That green seems like super fun color.
Awesome. This video gives beginners the power to make your beautiful coat! One question...what sewing machine are you using? It is amazing!
