A brilliant interpretation of Seven MV that broke
my heart:
It isn't that she doesn't like him; but literally or figuratively she lives ina world where the building crumbles; water floods; she gets swept in a storm; she doesn't want him embroiled in her tumultuous misfortunes.
Even in the restaurant scene, he just wants to treat her/set a romantic mood etc, but she feels frustrated bc her life has no room for that kind of luxury/breather. And cue, the building crumbles, a snippet/embodiment of what she endures/goes through. But despite the tumultuous life she leads he keeps coming back to her, for her. When her life gets ravaged by a storm & she tries to weather it alone.
he joins her in the storm even if it means tenuously holding onto a post lamp.
She's living a life on tightropes with no safety net life on the edge, but he goes even further to be with her, climbing up to her cliff on a mere plank to join
her on her tenuous rooftop; she lets out a smile there when he refuses to leave her alone. He would (as a joke or otherwise) die for her/'keep
coming back` for her; she finally relents and offers her hand, which he takes, and they walk together
into the wild storm, hand in hand
SHE chooses to accept him joining in her
tornadoes.. the ending speaks volumes
Notice when he buys her flowers, he's not short on money: but he's not a knight on a white horse/prince
charming come save the damsel in distress. There's no savior complex

I actually heard the explicit version first so when I went to watch the MV, I was taken aback and v. weirded out. Those two seemingly minor changes muddy the metaphor so as to neuter it.
