Freddie was a contemporary of Luther Vandross. Both were so smooth.
"Rock Me Tonight" "Have You Ever Loved Somebody" and "Jam Tonight" were other hits of his.
Jam tonight is my joint!!!! Classic!!!
Jam tonight is the Jam.
The entire first two LPs every song!
Also Love me down..Do me again…and Tasty love
Who here thinks that Jay and Amber would absolutely Love "Everybody Plays the Fool" by The Main Ingredient? It's a 70's R&B classic.(reached #3 on Billboard in 1972).
Definitely ✌️
I talked about this one. They have not reviewed it yet.
With Cuba Gooding Sr lead vocals
Oh Absolutely! 👍
“Jam Tonight” is another favorite that has a jazzy uptempo. 🎧❤
You guys hit my heart. This was my wedding first dance per my husband's request. It always brings a smile to my face.
This song was the hit back in the day.
Him and Luther where always going back and forth in the 80s and 90s.
“Have you ever loved somebody” is my absolute favorite Freddie Jackson song. Please do more Freddie!!! Alexander O’Neal next, guys. ✌🏽
LOVE Alexander O'Neal 🥰
Definitely agree with them reacting to Alexander O'Neal. There are some 80s R&B gems out there for sure.
"Sunshine" and "If You Were Here Tonight" my favorite songs 😊
@@ruff500 if you were here tonight and criticise please!
RobSquad!!! Please react to “Have you ever loved somebody”, quality song!!!!
I loved this song when it came out on the radio, still love it!👍🩵🩵💎
This was one of those songs that was DEFINITELY in the rotation at weddings. Not one black wedding ended without this being played, at some point, back in the day
It is so nice to hear Freddie Jackson again. His voice is wonderful.
We had the best R&B back in the 70's and 80's!!
Right! 80’s R&B was incredible!
Loved Freddie Jackson great singer got a lot of good songs Nice and Slow Rock Me Tonight
When R&B music was more than "smashing" and "making money". Straight up love songs.
When there was actual SLOW DANCING, not trying to grind all the time!!
And bootie shaking. Lord help us.
Oh absolutely! There's nothing like these songs now. Musicians today done know anything about this kind of music.
Before we gave R&B over to Hip Hop
Soooooooo good! NOTHING beats ‘70’s and ‘80’s R&B. Freddie was the man! Great song, great reaction as always. ❤
awesome !
I agree. Wish it was Rock Me Tonight. that’s my Fav. song of his.
Yep love the 70's and 80's nothing like it.
This song is like warm butter over a hot stack of pancakes!
Perfect wedding song.
Both of them school friends from Harlem NY. Freddy and Maria McDonald. Just love when youngins finally hear our music ..............
"Rock Me Tonight", "Tasty Love" & "Just a Little Bit More" with Melba Moore were his other classics
This reached #12 in 1985
Absolutely
Love Freddie Jackson
Freddie Jackson is like melted butter yes lord sang it Freddie. Awesome reaction.
Jay - The Kennedy Center Honors this year is honoring Barry Gibb. It'll be on TV in December. Also honored will be Queen Latifah and Dionne Warwick.
Other smooth and soulful Freddie Jackson must listens: Rock Me Tonight and Have You Ever Loved Somebody.
This reminds me of 80s Saturday mornings, cartoons, breakfast, cleaning the house by noon. Next was any activity because as a child then everybody was outside.
Any day someone learns who Freddy Jackson is is a great day.
there's a moment in time.. when R&B, soul.. with a fusion of a lil jazz and pop.. this smooth music always takes me back to the simpler times. Ethics.. kindness, a true dance of love. I miss music inspiring us all in this way. xo
It’s called Soul Music.
Why oh why can't we get music like this today it's just good clean words i miss this kind of stuff
Alright my babies.... This adult contemporary banger is so smooth, and the timeless classic for sure ‼️💯🔥😊👍🏼
*LOTS* and lots of babies were born in 1986 because of this song...LOL!!!
"A sophisticated love song" What a great and accurate description, Amber!
"Have you ever loved somebody" is my allll time FAV!
Rock Me Tonight is a MUST, guys!!
I love this song so much but it also breaks my heart too. I vividly remember my grandma saying how much she loved the song but it also made her sad cuz she never heard those words said to her. After hearing that I promised to always tell my baby how much she is appreciated and loved. Thank you Grandma, rest in peace 🤍🕊️
Have You Ever Loved Somebody, another one of his hits, will not disappoint 😊
"Couples skate! Guy's choice! Couples skate!"
Have You Ever Loved Somebody is my favorite by him! This song runs a close 2nd. Just beautiful.
I remember this song from an episode of ´Family Matters’ with Steve Urkel
I remember that, too.
I still play this song and it still is one of the most beautiful ones I have heard.
"FREDDIE YA GOT SCHOOLED IN DA GR80'S JACKSON..🎶🎶🎵🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎵🎶🎵😎😎😎😎😎😎
This takes me right back to my 15 yo self. The best years of my life!!!
Now we are f=getting to some real soul music!!! I requested this artist a year ago!!! Freddie Jackson, Luther Vandross and Kenny Lattimore are my favorite R & B singers!!!
Same here!
Freddie has a lot of awesome songs from way back.
I just love you 2 x you appreciate the best of music.god bless. UK
Beautiful couple x
Now this is a Wedding song
He recorded Jam Tonight.
Now we’re talking. Freddie Jackson has a Great voice If you like this you will LOVE ‘Rock me Tonight’ & a really good music video for the song. Ty for the post & your reactions\incite.
Freddie Jackson...... Wonderful......
Nobody had more R&B songs chart on Billboard in the 80s than Freddie Jackson
This is one of my all time favorite love this song
Amber totally gets it because when Freddie Jackson reaches out to you the first time, you have to just clutch your pearls put your hands to your chest girl
One of my all time favorites. This was my song to my wife at our wedding. He actually performed this song on an episode of Family Matters years ago.
Hi Jay & Amber. Thank you for taking me back when i was just 17yrs old.
This song came off an Album called "Don't Let Love Slip Away" & its one of those albums where you will love every song.
This came out in 1988, but before that, in 1985, Freddie Jackson had a song called "Rock Me Tonight, (For All Time Sake)" and this introduced Freddie to the World.
Peace & Thank You.
Freddie Jackson - Have You Ever Loved somebody
So many babies were conceived in the 80s and 90s from this song, I guarantee it! Hehe!
Even though I'm only 27-years-old, I wish this type of contemporary R&B & Soul was back in the mainstream.
This song is one way to stop an argument with me.
This song right here is GOLD! Can't go wrong with Mr Jackson!
Rock Me Tonight is the one you need to listen to.
Beautiful
ROCK ME TONIGHT ❤
Classic …. PLEASE DO THAT
This takes me back watching him at a concert in the 80,s 🇬🇧❤️❤️❤️❤️
More Freddie Jackson hits:
Rock Me Tonight (For Old Times Sake)
Love Is Just A Touch Away
Tasty Love
Have You Ever Loved Somebody
Jam Tonight
Nice 'n' Slow
Just Love Me Down (or is it Nice and Slow?) is a great baby producing song from him. Jam Tonight is more upbeat as the title suggests.
Definitely do 'Rock Me Tonight' by him next.
For another soulful gent, please, please, PLEASE do Keith Washington soon. Try 'Kissing You' or 'Are You Still in Love With Me'. Should also tackle sone Rene and Angela: 'I'll Be Good', 'Your Smile' or 'Angel' (latter just by Angela Winbush alone)
Keith is that dude! I saw him last year and he came out and surpised the crowd when Stephanie Mills was performing. They did "Fell The Fire", he sounded as good as Teddy and possibly better (sacrilege!). Great performance.
Love the shirt...1977 the year I was born...old skool players....love you guys!!!
Damn.. I was about to suggest this to y'all. You can't go wrong with Freddie Jackson. Harlem bred.. a voice like no other! You definitely gotta hear "Rock Me Tonight" his first big hit. I also recommend "I Don't Want To Lose Your Love" and "Tasty Love"
In your spare time you might want to check out him doing "You Are My Lady" live at the Apollo in 1992. He RIPPED it!!! You gotta hear his voice live to believe it.
Freddie Jackson made some heat for real in tis tune was a smash hit in the 80s
Nice song. He performed this on the show Family Matters where Steve Urkel and Freddie had a business deal to serenade Laura Winslow haha. Nice reaction.
Love Freddie Jackson!!! Rock me tonight is a fav. 😊👍
Love that you reacted to Freddie Jackson! Great voice. Love his duet with legendary Melba Moore '(Just) A Little Bit More'. He has a great catalog of music.
Freddie Jackson definitely has something for ya! Enjoy!
"Rock Me Tonight (For Old Time Sake)" is the song that put Freddy Jackson on the map. "Just a Little Bit More" with Melba Moore is a beautiful song. But my favorite Freddy Jackson song, by a wide margin, is "All I'll Ever Ask Of You."
I truly feel sorry for the current generation who have to make out to todays music. Where is the voice like this out there now. We were so lucky. ✌️
One of my FAVORITE R&B songs of all time!!!
The LEGENDARY Iconic Mr Freddie Jackson
“Dance Tonight” is my favorite, great dance cut!
Every time I hear this I melt❤️
Harlem native, Freddy Jackson! Classic mid-late 80's R&B! High school memories.
Love this... my favorite Freddie Jackson song ❤
Freddie definitely has a Smooth voice. This is an absolutely fantastic song
Ahhhh....love me some Freddie Jackson
Freddie Jackson is one of the Great 80's R&B singers! He's not just smooth, he's "shmoove", LOL!! You're right, this was in many a wedding!! Another great male singer from that time is Alexander O'Neal!! Lots of great music from this era!
Rock Me Tonight
The first few notes reminded me of Stephanie Mills song "Never Knew Love Like This Before".
My favorite song of all time!
Rock Me Tonight was a big favorite in the day. You could get your girl and hold her on the dance floor for awhile. The song was just over 7 minutes long. If you left the club alone after this song is was your problem...lol
One more of my 80s Favorites!!
Great song the opening reminded me of Stephanie Mills Never Knew Love Like This Before which came out five years before.
Without doubt! It’s a wonder there wasn’t a copy rites row about this
Freddie was that dude get in his catalog!! Duets with some top notch female artists.🔥🔥
Got outta the car lookin’ more like Freddie Jackson!
I've never heard the term "SOPHISTICATED LOVE SONG"... that is pretty much the perfect description for this song... GROWN FOLKS MUSIC!!
Freddie Jackson’s voice is so smooth. Another good baby maker is Johnny Gil’s My, My, My. You should definitely check it out.
Freddie was in a band called Mystic Merlin before going solo. They released 2 or 3 albums but the group wasn't successful.
I just shared this reaction with my girlfriend and I am definitely getting lucky tonight. Thanks guys!
haha.. go for it!!!
Good luck. I've been married a while so it most likely won't happen for me.
😂😂😂
@@michaelstafford1307Jest try Putting ur Mind to It . 🤔🤨🙄😍😘🥰🤗
I approve of "deep sea diving" lol 😅😂
The arrangement is 80s… but that voice is timeless
Freddie has a lot of jams my favorites are Love Is Just A Touch Away, Good Morning Heartache and Have You Ever Loved Somebody
“Love Is Just A Touch Away” is my all-time FJ favorite. ✌🏽
Freddie Jackson, next to Luther Vandross (or "Loofa" if ya nasty) was one of the smoothest-sounding cats from 1980s R & B. Bar none.
This song brings so many happy memories. We danced with our escorts to this in Cotillion. Shout out to class of 95❤😊
His voice reminds me in some ways of Billy Ocean, smooth and sweet in these love songs.
Suggestion: Tevin Campbell "Can we talk" "Im Ready". Duets: Alexander O'Neal and Cherelle (Saturday Love), . Stacey Lattisaw and Johnny Gill (perfect combination), Roberta Flack and Peabo Bryson (tonight I celebrate my love for you): Duets or solo artist - Honorable mentions - Phil Collins and Marilyn Martin "separate lives" Luther Vandross and Gregory Hines "nothing better than love" and Gloria Loring and Carl Anderson "Friends and Lovers"
💯but Phil Collins duet is with Marilyn Martin not Manson.
Y'all need to listen to Freddie Jackson's Rock Me Tonight. Everyone and your family always stay blessed and healthy ✝️🙏🛐🕊️
Once this came on in the club, you knew who you going home with
I am 55years come from the Netherlands and I’am real Dutch.
I love you two, you are a example for you’re generation, knowing where music comes from!
And it please me how you love real music with instruments, however the computer brings new sounds but to be honest, not my cup of tee.
