Hi Bob Like you we are planning to move from a Symbol to a slightly larger vehicle. Up for consideration is - Autocruise Starfire (favourite) and the Autocruise Valentine. You, having owned a Valentine, can you tell us the negatives ? SWMBO - not at all keen on the rear door as opposed to the traditional side door - Any advice welcomed. Thanks --- Mike
We were looking at the Autocruise Starfire before we decided on the Valentine , The later model which we were looking at had the interior floor level to the habitation door and a 3 tire exterior step, which seemed like a leap of faith to Jan and I stepping out into the great beyond , If you miss that 1st your in trouble, The early models have the 1st down step inside,, Also the side door Is not for us, We use cab dead locks, all our entry & exit's are through the habitation door, a bugger in car parks where some one has parked close to you, as your footprint is filling the parking bay,, But we are all different with like's and dislike's The negative with the Valentine for me was the short sofa's, you could not lie down on them, which became apparent the 1st time we were away, We had the Autosleeper Nuevo for a while which had full size sofa's for single bed sleeping, The Valentine can not satisfactory give single bed sleeping as you need the passenger seat to make the bed long enough , Everything else with the Valentine was great, But with so many different layouts out there you need to see them all before you spend so much money , and not like me have to move on to another before the paint is dry on the one I got,,
We're currently in the same position as you (ie) looking to change from Symbol - and now looking at A Valentine. Need 2 x single beds hence this choice (not changed yet) - Maybe next two months or so July 19 now. So what's your honest opinion of the Valentine ? Cheers Mike & Val
Hi Mike & Val, There are two types of Valentine, The layout changed around 2003, Mine was a 2004 so I only know about this model which is very nice, loads of storage as you see in my video, Lovely bathroom, and door opening at the rear, which I love, Side doors are a pain in car parks, Under slung fresh and waste water tanks save on internal space, But you say you need 2 x single beds, The sofas are not long enough without using the driver and passenger seats, It's O K but a bit uncomfortable on the feet, But I say it's a great motorhome, and it fit in car parks which I think is a must,, Cheers now
Thanks Sean, That is some I need to do , I know I have poor quality videos, I will get to it now the valentine is ready for the hopefully coming summer,
Very nice, well presented video.
Just bought one thanks for the tour
Hope you enjoy it!
A real ‘Home from Home’. Very nice, thanks for sharing. Cheers, Helen & Dave.
Thank you you both, Nice of you to comment,
