I find it unfair that in the primaries pledge delegates are forced to vote for a candidate they prefer not to vote for in the convention in the first rounds of voting. If I was pledge delegate and I was told that I have to vote for a candidate I don't want to vote for I'll be extremely pissed off. It makes a mockery of the process when pledged delegates are forced and told to vote for a certain candidate in the first round of conventions.

what happens to the pledged delegates won by candidates that drop out later on?

    thank you for the video.
I'd like to ask, whether pledged delegates are proportional to votes,
because for example in Colorado Bernie won 59%, while Hilary 40% and yet each took 38 delegates equal?

+Hassan Alzaher Colorado has 66 pledged delegates, and Sanders won 38 and Clinton won 28. See here: www.cnn.com/election/primaries/states/co/Dem
I can only guess that sources reporting 38 to 38 are counting superdelegates that have announced their intention to support Clinton, but I'll emphasize that it's just a guess.

Thank you for the video! I have been looking for info to clarify this. Just one thing; I get that a pledged delegate is just that, pledged. But can a pledged delegate change the vote regardless of who they were selected to vote for originally? Are there laws that prevent them from it? Or can that only happen if there is no majority vote the first time? Thanks in advance!

+Nico Becerra The Democratic National Committee's delegate rules discuss this very issue, and there are provisions to ensure the pledged delegates vote as they are pledged on the first ballot. For example, rule 12 J says: "Delegates elected to the national convention pledged to a presidential candidate shall in all good conscience reflect the sentiments of those who elected them." If you are interested, you can check out all the rules here: demrulz.org/wp-content/files/12.15.14_2016_Delegate_Selection_Documents_Mailing_-_Rules_Call_Regs_Model_Plan_Checklist_12.15.14.pdf

That would never happen - if you're chosen to vote at the convention, that would be because your preferred candidate won enough of the vote to send you to the convention!

Hey! I really like your videos, i have subscribed, but i have one question...
At the 3:21 mark it shows New Hampshire on the list, it shows 21 'total base delegates' and 16 'district level' My question is what do these two Columns mean? what are these numbers?

I'm glad the videos have been helpful. The "total base delegates" column refers to how many district and at-large delegates NH receives. Specifically, NH gets 21 total base delegates broken down into 16 district delegates and 5 at-large delegates. NH also gets 3 pledged PLEO delegates so it has 24 pledged delegates in all.

+Citizen Genius I think what i like about them the most is that you talk slowly, leaving plenty of time for the information to sink in, on some UA-cam vids, the narrator speaks so quickly! Means i have to pause alot :)
I have another question if you don't mind! You say there are 16 district level delegates, why 16? i mean NH only has 2 congressional districts, i mean who decides the amount of delegates per state? are these numbers connected to something relevant? what do they correlate too?
      Thank again :)

+IDKFA - God Mode Activated! Thank you. As for your questions, the total base delegates (district and at-large) a state receives is determined by a mathematical formula that takes several factors into account. The details are well-explained by The Green Papers (go here: www.thegreenpapers.com/P16/D-Alloc.phtml#Alph ) - scroll down to the heading that says "Computation of...."
