- On this week’s edition of History and Relics, we’re traveling to the scenic valley of Coolspring, PA to partake on one of, if not the, largest collection of historically significant and early gas Hit-and-Miss (aka Hit ‘N’ Miss) engines on the planet at the Coolspring Power Museum.
Engines from the size that can fit in the back of your pickup to ones as large as a couple of train cars, you’ll be amazed at what you’ll find here. And today is a special treat as we’ll also be checking out one of the Museum’s seasonal flea markets where you can buy, sell, and trade just about anything related to these revolutionary engines.
So, come along with us. We’ll tell you how all this came about and share with you our experience - it’s sure to your engines racing - Right here on History and Relics!

Hi everyone, I’m beginning to get some show schedule announcements from my sources of various engines shows coming. Please check out the MY Community Page as this is where I’ll be providing links to shows as I get alerted to them. Thanks!
17:40 Nice background music there 😂 I only heard that for like 6hrs (or more) that show. I get to start it, and babysit it :) (forgetting to turn the ONE oiler off on it is a 3-person effort though)
To the unsuspecting ear, it sounds like a funky drum but to the engine connoisseur they know it’s a heartbeat. I can imagine though being near this all day how that sound seems to even stay with you even when you get home. We had a great time and hope you did too. Thank you for watching! Take care.
@@historyandrelics The reason it sounds like a drum is because the exhaust goes into a 300GL (I think) oil tank in the ground. it was like that where it was taken from.
@@braybraymaster77 I thought it was interesting. I had never seen them run underground like that before. There are a few there at Coolspring like that.
Was that the Blaisdell?
I’m not sure.
