Sorry Mitch but I think this is a perfect tutorial. The fact you got things wrong proves nobody is perfect. It also shows why you have to put it back together a certain way. Good job.
mitch.....have a check of the springs to make sure that when the car is lifted up they remain seated and are not lose.....as it will be picked up at mot......my car is around 100m drop but i use leda shocks....these are a short travel race item..the standard shock may drop to much.......nice wee build btw....ps an adjustable panhard rod is usefull as when lowerd the axle moves slightly to the near side.... while not essential it lets you bring it back in line.....
Tip for next time when you put rear struts onto the dale, lube it up well with grease but dangle the bushed in boiling water for 5 minutes to soften up the bushes. Went on so easy without the need for a G clamp 😎😎
Wow, end product speaks for itself. All new hardware looks amazing. It's going to feel so good driving. 75mm springs, wasn't expecting that, gunna be nice and low👌
In the good old days.. we used to cut the springs with a grinder ,then cable tie the springs in place to stop them falling out Lol . A good job well done , its very clean your car . im very surprised to see it had a bit of welding . You could do with a set of alloys now mate ...Ashley exhaust .
Keep an eye on them KYB shocks mate. I got the same ones off ebay, didn't last long at all, they only lasted a few months before they became completely useless. My mk2 isn't lowered either 😬 kyb is usually good stuff so I'm hoping I just got unlucky with mine. Got some cheaper gas ones off ebay in the end. Can't remember what brand but they have been fine for the past few years 👍
I use grease depending on the application. I can assure you that I put lubricant on the shocks and they would not go on. The bush was so tight which is why I resorted to using the g-clamp 👍🏻

Ian McKillop thank you! Could’ve easily cut those parts out but thought I would show what really happens :)

I’ll have to look into the springs once I’ve got it all together properly. Adjustable panhard rod is ordered 👍🏻
@@Mk2Mitch sorted......

I'll give this a try next time bro, thank you!
Awesome work as always Mitch, had to sneak to see mine after work to make sure she was still there!

Struggly Boys thank you! It’s going to be as ‘standard’ as it can be, but lowered with banded steels eventually 👌🏼
You’ve done a awesome job with that fiesta bro 👏👏
Thank you! 😁

Thank you! It’s had 2 bits welded but to a high quality, maybe I’ll tidy them up one day. Alloys to come, not sure on exhaust yet ;)
Great video Mitch, looking forward to the next instalment!
Niel Armstrong cheers mate!
Mk2 Mitch how are you lowering the front suspension?
Niel Armstrong all will be revealed ;)

James Tatt thank you for the advise, I will be keeping a eye on the shocks!
Do you never put grease on any of the bolt threads. ? Just finger the Christmas tree uprights with grease, then prise the shockies on

Hi! Did you ever have problem with rear brake pressure valve?
