For clarification on the term "simp", it used to be a negative term for people (mostly guys) who would blindly give large amounts of money and attention to others (mostly girls) in an attempt to get noticed by them, and possibly get into a relationship with them no matter how unrealistic that outcome may be. Nowadays, it's more of a way to say that you're a fan of a person/character. For example, I'm a Haru Kaida simp because I bought a lot of his voice packs, or someone is a Dola simp because she's hot. So if you see someone call themselves a simp for a vtuber, it means they're a big fan for any reason.
It’s like Stan. Though Stan is started to be used used negatively again.
I do agree that dola is hot but i think moira-sama needs more recognition

Stan is more of a lingo used to convey "I am a super fan" mainly in music fandoms. Meanwhile, simp is more general and can be used anywhere, whether its a real life person, or even animated one (in a way). And stan doesnt imply that you spend money on them, just focusing your attention on them, meanwhile simp originated because you spend money on them.
Like, "Omg we love lady gaga, we stan" or "I stan Ariana Grande" but we dont really say "omg we stan Diluc" even tho it can be used like that, but in general term its more common to say "Omg we are Simp for Diluc."
Tbh, both of them can be used negatively depending on the person. So its all more about the place and the time. If I am allowed to stereotype it, I see some fans of Vtubers or maybe Anime fans look down on "stan" while Music fans look down on "simp". Meanwhile, I see a lot of music fan thats also anime fans using both words as positive remarks lol.

For years, and by that, I mean maybe almost 10 years (I think since 2010), people in internet, especially the black people and LGBT community in social media really change the term stan to the better version of "idolizing someone", esp in twitter. From being a very stalker/over the top fanatic fans, to just a very big fan of something, hence why people nowadays use it freely and even jokingly, example "I got extra nuggets from McDonald, we stan".

I am one of those lurkers. Nijisanji chats are kinda spooky to me, honestly. There’s literally no english people chatting 😅. So, usually when I’m on streams like on Belmond i just call him a chad.
He also brought up the "simp" topic on his recent YT stream, saying he was worried that it might mean something bad that's why he didn't want to say it carelessly. I really hope more people can understand that it's not their obligation to speak in English for us but they're always trying their best to do so & we should appreciate it as it is. Because of that reason, oftentimes English comments start getting out of hand & irrelevant to the stream too, it's really upsetting ( for the Livers & other viewers ) & I always want to BURY myself from embarrassment when that happens... Let's just all be respectful in chat no matter who it is, that's the best way to have fun & enjoy their streams !!

"simp" or "simping" started as an insult to people who donated money to streamers (mainly male viewers to female streamers). It evolved into doing anything nice in general to anyone of the opposite gender (but still mainly males being friendly to females). It's been used so often for everything it basically has lost all meaning and is more of a joke now
The joke devolves into male simply interacting with female. "If ya talk to girls yous a simp!" or "If you breathe the same air with girls you a simp!" they said.

As someone that use twitch more often than youtube, I am glad that it wasnt a chaotic hell that some streamers can get in twitch.
Edit : for people that dont know, yes you can gift a sub to random or targeted acc in twitch. Subscribe means you get a membership and can use emote, like in youtube. So theres lots of chance that you might get free subscription/membership just because you were in the channel, gifted randomly by nice people in the chat. Thats why twitch chat can be a very close community, because sometimes you ends up being friends with each other lol.
