Hopefully this video finds some appeal cuz TBH I considered not filming this mundane boring grunt work as it's usually glossed over by big automotive UA-camrs. But it needed doing so here it is ... feel free to roast away!
This gives the true story to any wannabe engine swappers. It´s the boring grunt work that has to be done. Check out the LegitStreetCars channel to see a guy who is really into the clean-up part and makes it fun. One million subscribers can´t be wrong!
Well done! I think this sort of detail goes a long way to showing what is REALLY required when doing an engine swap. So often it is ignored on YT. At least you didn't film a time lapse version of the work - which would have been completely pointless (as in other regular YT videos!)
Another good job! Think of all those weight savings from removing all that dirt and grime. Be careful though - miata oil leaks are it's own way of preventing rust 😅
@@mostlyuselessgarage awesome. Thanks! Have you thought about doing a video on what all can be deleted from the engine bay without having to modify the ecu?

Nice video! You make me want to start my own channel! Looks like a lot of effort recording tho especially doing grunge work 😂
Let me be the first to encourage you to so. Everyone has a story to tell!

Damn, that reminds me i need to take care of the rust under my booster too :(

Thx man, and thanks for noticing the time-lapse free thing. Although it can be interesting, I prefer not to for the reason you alluded to.
I have to say it is so satisfying to watch your videos 🥲
Thanks man, appreciate it!
This video was great. Your channel is one of my favorites.
That's awesome, thank you!

Thx Luke, the car dropped 5KG 😉 I'll have to save my used motor oil and pour it into the rocker panels!
Hey man love your videos. Great production value and very informative. Keep it up!
Thanks for the kind words, really appreciate it
Love this one! About to remove my charcoal canister as well as relocating the washer bottle & coolant overflow tank. Hope my bay is as clean as yours
Thx dude, good luck with the job
wow the white looks great on camera!
Rust-Oleum 2X Ultra Cover white semi-gloss ... It's hard to screw up 😂
A lot easier way to mask wire and tubes is tin foil . much easier to remove afterward.
Good suggestion, I've seen that in vids but promptly forgot in the heat of the moment!
Any engine lights from removing the charcoal canister?
Not with the Ecotec swap! But on a stock Miata you should be ok, leave the purge solenoid plugged in.
