Luke: The Bible Explained
Вставка
- Опубліковано 18 жов 2024
- Watch our Introduction video on the book of Luke, which outlines the book's main theme and how it is fulfilled in Jesus.
Luke's Gospel emphasizes Jesus' care for the marginalized. Jesus' compassion for the poor, captive, oppressed, and blind fulfills scriptures about the final deliverance God will bring to all who are in need. But people couldn't see it. That is because they, like all of us, were spiritually blind. But when Jesus heals our spiritual blindness, we can see him and the scriptures as they truly are.

I am going to use this to intro the book of Luke to my teens for our new series. God bless yall. This had me 😂😭😢😂
So glad you are using it as a resource in your ministry! 🙏
Luke is the hardest gospel for me, John tells the story of Jesus best.
Man that last moment speaks to me so much. I am about to rant, so be warned. Also a message to the intellectually focused people out there in the second paragraph.
I can easily find myself in a pharisee-type mindset, thinking "my" intelligence is enough to find God, that "my" intelligence is sufficient, and to trust in "my" ability, and i will admit my brain is one of the strongest parts of my body. But i put those "my"s in quotes for a reason. Even when i forget it, even my own intellectual giftings are just that, gifts. Gifts from God. But as long as i ignore the spirit and as long as i neglect God whether unintentionally or intentionally, i will always miss that. Praise God He is still willing to put up with me. If you knew me in real life, i have an easy time judging others based on intellect. (something I'm still working on, and something i need to constantly watch, but God is merciful) so if i were in that pharisee's shoes at the end, one of the first struggles i would have to get past is "why should i listen to you? You're a *fill in the blank "lesser" person*" i would avoid saying it that way, but that's the core of it. Nonetheless, "it pleased God that the foolish be the ones to confound the wise."
Btw i still believe intelligence is a great gift from God. The issues come when one worships the gift over the giver. Far fewer people would have the bible on their person at all times if no one had the intelligence to make a smartphone app for it. For crying out loud, it takes a ton of intelligence just to write the pieces used in these videos! Not to mention the videography, video editing, social media interaction to market them, financial intelligence to keep a nonprofit like this afloat, leadership skills to unify the employees under the one vision and so much more! One more thing, i don't care how good a singer your church's worship leader is, you get someone on the soundboard who doesn't know what they're doing, they gonna sound bad. There's no getting around it. So all this to say, talking as someone with experience, intellectually gifted people are just as valuable to the body of Christ as any other. With intelligence comes its own set of struggles as well as its own set of benefits. Bruh, there are areas that REQUIRE a certain level of intelligence just to be allowed to speak! If the gospel is gonna be preached there, someone's gonna have to get in. Nerds, geeks, mathematicians, doctors, programmers, and every person who excels at STEM related fields, hear this! The spiritual world is not the only thing that should be harnessed in christianity, and YOU have a grasp on the natural world that is still very valuable. I can't stress enough that the best Christians are the ones who are so realistic that they know the supernatural and the natural and can harness both where needed.
Sorry for the rant, that's kinda how i write best. God bless everyone!
Thank you for sharing this with all of us. All of us at Spoken Gospel were so honored and moved by your honesty and insight.
We totally agree that, while intellect is a gift from God and something to be nurtured, it can regularly be a source of pride and a barrier to the counter-intuitive, kingdom truth Jesus reveals.
Of course, the ultimate barrier for the Pharisees wasn’t necessarily their intellect (though it did play a part). As we show in the video, with the white blindfolds, there is a spiritual blindness that only the Holy Spirit can overcome.
Join us in praying that those who watch this video will have an encounter with the Holy Spirit that enables them to see more of Jesus than they have so far.
Appreciate you!!!!
Bruuuuuh. Sorry. I had to. I been thinking about that new word often lately.
Amen! I find it funny that you bring up naruto because personally anime and stuff like that is one of my biggest distractions, so finding that balance between keeping God in His rightful place at the top of my priority list while acknowledging my interests has been an area of development for me, and I'm still learning and making adjustments.
Hebrews 10:14 is my favorite verse for this reason, because it reminds me that, thanks to Jesus' sacrifice, I have been made (past tense) perfect, sanctification is just me learning to act like it. Aligning my actions on earth with my true identity in Christ. It helps me with self condemnation when I don't quite live up to my "intellectual" status, which sounds more and more stuck up the more I grow and look back lol. Just because I have an talent in/great interest in learning doesn't make me inherently better than others.
Btw, I also love that you brought up Ecclesiastes, it's great for reminding us that the natural world and science and "intellect" are worthless without God. Nothing under the sun is truly meaningful unless you incorporate the Son.
We're all growing together man! I'm glad God is using these things to bless you, and I pray you never stop chasing God and His kingdom, because then everything else will come in their due time. Be blessed and have a wonderful Christmas!
@@Wordsman yea I personally get assaulted with a waterfall of images just like the marvel movie logo at the beginning of their movies where they flash comic book pages.
You?
Ps: pornography does the same thing but worse. My hypothesis is that any sin like that opens the door to attacks like that and despondency etc.
Amazing!
📙💯
I'm from Brazil and I follow the videos. Lucas is the only one without subtitles. Please, I ask you to put the subtitles inside the UA-cam studio. Thank you very much and may God bless you all.
Thank you for letting us know! The captions have been added.
Surprised by your agility! May God continue to bless the ministry.@@SpokenGospel
🙏🏾❤️
Thaks il get help in church exams 😌
Thank you for your ministry! I'm just curious because for me this makes sense and not get totally confuse but what if you have no biblical knowledge and never read it then watched this video and start to read the book of Luke for example will he get more confuse? Especially the book of Mark who sometimes cuts the story and start another.

wow!
Luke 4:16-21 He went to Nazareth, where he had been brought up, and on the Sabbath day he went into the synagogue, as was his custom. He stood up to read, (17) and the scroll of the prophet Isaiah was handed to him. Unrolling it, he found the place where it is written: (18) "The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free, (19) to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor." (20) Then he rolled up the scroll, gave it back to the attendant and sat down. The eyes of everyone in the synagogue were fastened on him. (21) He began by saying to them, "Today this scripture is fulfilled in your hearing."
1:28 "but how do we know Jesus says who he said he is?" ~ because he healed people, but how do we know that?
Hi SpokenGospel, just out of curiosity, are there any volunteers working on the subtitles for The Bible Explained for both Luke & John?
One of our team members does the captions for most of our videos.
@@SpokenGospel Oh ok! I thought since Luke & John aren't out with the caption, maybe I could help out with that. Then again, thanks for the assurance. God has bless us so much with what you guys have been doing! Keep it up!
Amen
Sorry, I just want to know what was Jesus message here, what was it again he was wanting to prove through the healing, and after he was resurrected what was he expecting humans to learn from him ? :) in simple terms lol
