Wallace and Ladmo was the longest running locally produced kids show for 35 years...In Phoenix. If we were a kid from the 60s to 80s, you watched the show. They also played cartoons like Looney Tunes And Tom and Jerry ect. Was a great kids show...and soooo Phoenix lol!
I looked them up and watched a few videos about them. They sounded like a fantastic kids variety show. I'm surprised they never moved their show beyond the Phonex area, kinda like Bozo the clown. I appreciate the additional information about them
@@TomsRoadTrippin They were so ubiquitous here that... Ladmo would give one lucky kid in the live audience a Ladmo bag. A plane brown bad with Candy, soda and stuff. Well, at the Maricopa county jail, the first meal of the day was in a brown paper bag so...the prisoners call it ...a Ladmo bag....lol. If you search UA-cam, you can find plenty of Wallace and Ladmo videos and even Alice Cooper, being that very large kid, winning a Ladmo bag during their 35th anniversary show. Alice, being a valley native and all around good egg! Cheers
The Lando Bags were a great addition. I read that during the early days of the show kids would have to choose a prize from a cupboard. Being it was a Live show the kids would sometimes slow the show down trying to decide
@@TomsRoadTrippin yup...pretty much. The show was pretty slow already lol. But, it was still the earlier days of TV in a sense and...a much slower time. We didn't need robots that transformed and things blowing up every 5 mins to be entertained. It was just some good clean silly fun. Man...when ya think about it...the show started when Phoenix was just a small sleepy little town. When I moved here in 79' there were only 1.2 million in the entire valley after it had been booming. In the 60s when it started.... Don't think town went much north of Glendale Ave lol.
Most people don’t know that most coral snakes species aren’t even yellow at all and tend to have the same patterns as many milksnake species. Only a couple of coral snakes have the yellow. While most are red, white, and black. The most iconic species would be the eastern coral snake I believe
Hey Tom! Now, this comment won’t be for this video. I’m still in the process of catching up on all of your content. I’ll start leaving regular comments when I’m all caught up. Which, thanks to all the wonderful signage, could take a month or so. This comment is to recommend a place for you to do a tour on in the future. Now, I live in quite a boring part of Canada. Not a whole lot of animal attractions around where I live. However, there is one gem. One phenomenal place that I should go back to soon. I am talking about the Cochrane Polar Bear habitat. I could be wrong but I believe they have 9 or so Polar Bears. Each with its own unique backstory. I also read an article that says this is the largest Polar Bear habitat in the WORLD! And of course the Toronto Zoo & Ripley’s Aquarium in Toronto as I’ve suggested before. White lions at the Toronto Zoo man. I thought it would be a cool video if you ever get to Canada.
Yeah I didn't think many animals would be out in the Summer months. It was actually a nice day during my visit, I got to see the majority of the animals
@@TomsRoadTrippin That's good. Like us, after the early morning hours they are looking for shade and quiet lol. It can be a bit tricky. In winter, some don't want to be out first thing when it's still a bit chilly but show up in the afternoon. My family, we always expected an all day kinda deal and walked some areas twice. 😊
I always recommend going back to any animals you missed the first time. I also mention that not all animals are out right away after the zoo opens. If it's an animal you really want to see, you may need to return to the habitat later in the day

Great zoo. Love that souvenir cup with gorilla on lid. A real 👍 keepsake
Yeah I don't see those types of souvenir cups much so it was nice to get it
I also recommend you visit Wildlife Safari near Roseburg Oregon on your Pacific Northwest roadtrip
Thanks for the suggestion, I'll definitely check it out on my next road trip.
Pretty zoo
It really is a beautiful zoo, I loved the habitats and landscaping
Go to sugar bowl ice cream parlor in Scottsdale. We have been going to the point my great grandparents went there. It’s a family tradition
Sounds great, I'll check it out next time I'm heading through Arizona
