Factor out a 2^20, and you have 1023 left in the parenthesis. Notice that 2^20 =(2^10)^2=1024^2. So you end with 1024(1024)(1023). Just do some standard multiplication by hand and you’re done.

a^3-a^2=24^2*23=13,248
1000+71=1,071
1,071,000+1,680=1,072,680
