'77 alumni weighing in here - Carleton is an amazing school. My bff's are still my lifelong friends from CC. Back in the last century a lot of things were the same - small class sizes, actual intellectual discussion, activities and sports on weekends - as opposed to "partying." The old dorms are really spectacular, the old architecture, woodwork, etc. The campus is so beautiful that the winter is much more tolerable than it seems like it would be. I went there from Atlanta, wasn't used to the cold at all, but sledding down the hills on pieces of cardboard, skating on the Bald Spot, and broomball, all make it fun. CC is quirky, intellectually stimulating and nurturing. I highly recommend it as a school.

Hi we are from San Diego. My son is senior at MCHS applying to Carleton this year. It’s so cold over there. What do you guys do over the winter?
Any activities in winter? Are you planning to come back to California after you graduate?

So..the class sizes are pretty small compared to other big universities?

Yes much smaller! Which is a big value add for some students, and a negative for others.

CampusReel yes I really like smaller classes. I feel like there’s a higher chance to get 1 on 1 help and interaction with the professor than big classes, since the big classes have more students and there’s too many kids for the professor. Am I right..?

Could tell you were American by the title, haha. In Canada College and University are very different, therefore we would call it Carleton university. I’m actually going there in the fall this year, so the tour was helpful cause I can’t go visit the campus due to covid rn.
