- In this video I go through the installation and configuration of CodeProject.AI on Blue Iris. Using Code Project AI allows you to detect people, animals, vehicles, and more and have Blue Iris only send you alerts when there is a confirmed match. Excellent, please consider a deep dive into setting up a license plate reader with BI. Setting up the camera is quite tricky, especially for night time use. The license reader integrated with BI does work well with the right setup. Thanks!
I was going to say the same thing. Very clear explanation- would love to see the ALPR. I have it kind of working. I’d love to see a MQTT broadcast or some way to send the license plate out.
Blue Iris user for years. I just switched to Starlink. I don't normally comment on UA-cam videos but this video was on point. No filler, just a clear and easily implementable solution to a serious issue. Thank you.

This is a great video. I set up an NVR a few months ago with Blue Iris and this video was an enormous help in tuning it. I especially liked the explaination of some of the features that I did not understand. Thanks very much. Well done.
At 7:22 in the video you go to Camera settings, Trigger, Under When Triggered there is the Artificial Intelligence Button, (Mine is not there anymore), Possible has been moved or adjusted after a blue iris update???

Thanks for posting this video. I migrated over to codeproject from deep stack after getting tons of errors with deep stack. I still have a few error 200s with code project but not nearly as many as with deep stack. I read from various forums that this is possibly just a bug and that the BI dev is working on it.
I have had tons of errors as well with Deepstack. I just wait and it gets fixed after a little while... I'm tempted to switch but currently its working very well. Only issue i have is live view is 3 to 15 seconds delayed. If I maximize then it gets up to speed with the higher quality stream... Have not figured that one out yet...

Thanks for making this very well-done and informative video. I have a question: Facial Recognition is not working. Do you have a checklist of things to be in place? BI & Code Project are both working and talking. Face Processing is ON. It seems like Blue Iris is not sending Code Project any faces.
PROBLEM SOLVED! Needed YOLO installed and running not just facial rec.
One thing I was told with using a camera (4k) with a substream was to uncheck "use main stream if available" since the AI.
I am unable to even see anything under the trigger tab that says artificial intelligence. The box isnt even there. The only box i have is immediate prealert actions
I'm really looking forward to the video on building a custom database. I'd like to set something up to notify me if there is a new person or car detected on my cameras.

Long time BI customer here. I started with BI4 years ago. It always worked fine. I was able to view the alerts from my phone, no problem. Last year I upgraded to BI5. Since day one I have not been able to view alerts from my phone. I cab view BI5 in a browser on my local network, but not outside my home on my phone.
Is this a problem others are having or is it just me?
Hello, thanks for the video. Could you do the additional steps to work with GPU? because I have BlueIris working with 60 cameras and the deepstack runs very well with an Nvidea Quadro T400. I've tried to install Codeproject several times and the server is very slow and the response time exceeds 3000 ms, and with Deepstack it doesn't exceed 180 ms with the number of cameras I have.
This works well if you are just utilizing the CPU. If dong anything with NVIDIA graphics cards, there are several steps missed, such as installing Visual Studio, NVIDIA studio drivers and CUDA Toolkit, then Codeproject AI, followed by CUDnn script.
Please elaborate, I am in the camp needing the details about how to set up with GPU. Anybody else have a good walkthrough video?
I just put a Coral TPU in my unraid server which is running Code Project AI. Is there anyway to get Code Project AI to use that TPU for processing?
This video is well out of date and can no longer be followed due to the many updates. CodeAI completely ruined my Blue Iris installation and I had to reinstall and import settings.
Blue iris stopped alerting me about anything when I followed his instructions... had to roll everything back... utterly useless

I'm used to recording on motion only and the recommendation is to use continuous + triggered with AI. How does navigate the timeline when the whole thing is a recording?

Great video, do you know if there is a way to default images being sent from blue Iris to another drive and not c:\ I would like to not use up all my drive space on C:\ and instead change the default file location of CodeProjectAI to another drive like D:\ C:\ is an SSD and don't want to fill that up and shorten the life of the drive? Thanks...
Just FYI, it may help to end a question with ‘?’ Instead of a period. Could be wrong, but I think the ‘?’ causes questions to show up when the author filters for questions to answer. Good question though.

Awesome startup tutorial. I just switched to a Dahua Color 4K 180° turret ip camera from a Dahua Mini PTZ that kept following/focusing on the wrong subject at the most critical of times. Ideally I would have liked to use this 180° cam as the spotter cam & keep the Mini PTZ to zone-in on the subject but wife only wanted 1 camera over the driveway. So I just installed CodeProject AI which is working great. I was wondering if there is any way to only record vehicles that stop or move slowly (like they were casing out home) in front of our driveway with AI instead of every vehicle that passes by.
Hi, do you think 2MP (turret and bullet) dahua or hikvision camera would be enough for AI recognition for faces, pets, and object, not including ALPR.

I had deep stack installed running on the same PC as Blue Iris and it would hit the CPU at 100 all the time. so put it on my TrueNas with a VM running Ubuntu works much better and I have a 10gb link so fast. I hop you do one were this is installed on a different system using docker.
I have everything setup and seems to be working. How to keep all the false triggering? Not sure what to do as it is worse that when I had zones setup.

I have ProjectCodeAI on.
It flags the items I have listed, it is trained for.
Here is the problem, Alerts that get flagged by PCAI go into the Alerts folder, those that don't get flagged by the
AI into the New folder.
Take cat, dog, I get a labeled Alert in the Alert folder.
A opossum which the AI doesn't support, not trained for, doesn't go to Alerts unlabeled but straight to New folder.
So we basically have to look at Alerts and New to see all Alerts.
Does BI have an option to send all Alerts to the Alert folder?

Could you go into detail on how to use a remote CodeProject AI server? I tried and couldn't get it to work. Does it have to be a docker? I just used two of the same model system one for BI and one for CPAI with no luck.
Is this implementation able to use Google Coral to speed up things?
How do you get the CPU usage so low on blue iris? I've used quicksync on a supported CPU and I can never hit below 10% with 3 cameras idle and not triggered. Thanks for the great video!

Nothing happens when I click to open the ai dashboard
We have inetgrated blueiris with AI Code Project and successfully running it. We also setup Zone setup. Once a register face crosses a zone, we setup that alarm should not run, but it is not working. Any advice?

If I increase the '+real-time images', objects like person are not detected. With valua 0, detection works but 2 makes it unrealiable. I though more mages would increase the detection probability? If I use 'Test & Tuning -> Analyze With AI', the probabilty for person is always over 90 %.

Can you give us an idea of the sort of system requirements you used for this? I'm using an old dell desktop with a 4 core chip with 3 cameras, and I'd like to try this, but I have no idea if it will be good enough
I'm running an old 4 core xeon, but it does have a M620 GPU which does seem to be helping, ideally you'd have a GPU even a small one, I think it has to support cuda though, pretty sure.
Can CodeProject be Uninstalled without affecting Blue Iris if you decide not to use it ?
