The three-headed monster is King Ghidorah, and that giant pterosaur from the volcano is Rodan. The "turtle" I assume is actually Mothra's larva form

Justin K Honestly I don't remember. It's been a while since I last saw one of the old movies with Mothra. I think it's just like the larva starts smallish and then gets bigger and bigger. I know in one of the old movies the Larva was almost the size of Godzilla before hatching into the Moth.

Japanese audiences generally liked the 2014 Godzilla, it was only a vocal minority that called him fat. In fact, Toho Entertainment has taken the new american model as a baseline for their recent animated Godzilla movies.
Only two people in japan actually complained about Godzilla's design. A lot of people in japan actually enjoyed it.

It was the USA that kept calling him fat not Japan. Japan loved his design so much they put a statue of him in Tokyo like he is coming out of the ground or water. It's sad when Japan loves are version of Godzilla more then we do just cuase he designed different. Be happy America finally did Japan happy with this version.

D Death Well, Shazam comes out in April 5th, on the 5th weekend after Captain Marvel gets released. Baring some Black Panther level dominance on the weekly Box Office (which managed to stay on top for no less than 5 weeks), I am not that concerned it will make Shazam bleed hard. Avengers 4 isn't released until, again, the 5th weekend after that and that sounds like the usual amout of time for a DCEU movie to make the bulk of the money its going to make in its theatrical run. So, again, I am cautiously optimistic it will be mostly safe in its box office run by then.
Now, Avengers 4 will likely still be at the top of the box office when Godzilla gets released on the 31st of May but I agree that the Japanese and possibly the Chinese audiences will largely support this movie so that will counterbalance the effects of the successor of the 4th movie to reach the 2 billion dollar club.
So no, I don't think the hits between these movies will be that big. They will clearly have an ideal time frame to support them at the movie theatre and give positive word of mouth to its benefit between blockbuster releases, though.

Well he and Mothra probably won’t fight. Rodan he might. The main plot point of this is probably going to be the three of them teaming up against King Ghidorah because they probably are going to have to because of how broken Ghidorah is. Even Godzilla has had trouble soloing him.
Mothra protects humanity so she'll most likely help Godzilla fight King Ghidorah. Rodan does whatever the fuck he wants but he'll probably help fight King Ghidorah.

Since it's pretty clear that Godzilla is once again the "good guy" in this movie protecting earth and humans civilization from the threat of the other titans, I'm wondering how or if they will make that turn for him turning bad in Godzilla vs King Kong in 2020. So far we've seen that both Kong and Godzilla are just protectors of their domain (one protects an island and the other protects the entire earth). They may just go with the BvS storyline where it's just a misunderstanding of intentions, and Godzilla realizes both of their moms names are Mothra in the middle of the fight. They hug it out to team up and fight MechaGodzilla and Gigan together.

The other monsters in this movie are King Ghidorah, Mothra and Rodan. Legendary studios bought the rights for those monsters from Toho to use in this movie.

As somome who watched godzilla starting with the original 1954 godzilla all the way to the last godzilla made which was shin godzilla.... Seeing mothra, rodan, and king ghidorah made me broke into tears, so dam beautiful.
Charles Dance is also in The Golden Child with Eddie Murphy. The monsters in this movie are Godzilla, Mothra, Rodan, and King Ghidorah.

I can agree that some of the Toho films had terrible quality, but Godzilla 1998 was just a disgrace to the name.
It's an okay movie if you pretend that it isn't supposed to be a Godzilla movie. I grew up watching the '98 film, and enjoyed it as a mindless blockbuster.

I am in no way a fan of gozilla, the movies, or any of its history but that was such a goddamn absurdly fantastic trailer.
I think it's gonna be:
- Godzilla & Mothra vs Rodan & King Ghidorah
- humans will do something stupid
- Kong will be in the end credits scene

You're right... there was one egg left in 1998 Godzilla/Zilla, but it continued into Godzilla: The Series, which was much better and had a monster that definetely more lived up to its namesake
I'm certain that the "turtle head" monster that Eleven is touching is Mothras head coming through the blue fog. In what looks like the same backdrop of that scene we see him spreading his wings behind the fog. It looks like it's the US military/Monarch + Godzilla + Mothra are the "good" guys, while this other unnamed organization who want to control the monsters for their gain (likely headed by Charles Dance) + Rodan + King Ghidorah are all the bad guys. I'm guessing we'll find out that Charles Dance is talking about King Ghidorah when he says "Long live the King".
Obviously the biggest baddie in the movie is King Ghidorah, but damn, Rodan looks to be tearing up everything. It looks like a nuclear explosion shockwave on the ground as he's simply flying over those houses/buildings. And that scene where it looks like Washington has been completely decimated and Rddan is flying around looks epic.

It's interesting to watch folks who aren't familiar with the Godzilla universe talk about it. I assume that's most movie goers today. I used to get up at 2:30AM to watch the movies on TV in the 80's. This trailer looks very good. I'm excited to see how they portray all the monsters. Maybe Mamagan will make an appearance. :D

what I like about this trailer is it is finally showing people how epic these 'titans' are. I've been watching the Godzilla movies since I was a little kid and have always seen them as such and it is good but also sad that it took until 2018 for people to finally view them as i've been viewing them this whole time. I was the only person in my entire town who even cared for the Godzilla movies and to me Mothra, Rodan, Ghidorah have always been these glorious beings that I looked up to, everyone else was more into Marvel or DC and I had Godzilla. This trailer is really making people finally see it how i've seen it my while life, they use to just dismiss them as corny foreign movies with rubber suits, I always looked past that and was wowed by them back then just as people are wowed by this trailer.

Yes. And no, don't watch every one, but definitely start with the original in its subtitled & black & white glory! Avoid the American version with Raymond Burr spliced in! You want to see "Gojira" first, then skip all the rest & go directly to Godzilla (2014 American version) followed by "Shin Godzilla" which shows an evil Godzilla in a modern remake of "Gojira." If after those 3 you enjoyed them, look into Googling "Best to worst Godzilla fims" & go from there, or watch them in order. There was only 1 bad "Godzilla" film; the Roland Emmerick American version. The rest are a mix or goofy to silly to sad to funny to serious to catastrophic. Enjoy!

Sounds good! Ignore the bit of goofy looking stuff & the Japanese CGI, which is great but different than traditional CGI. Even the sound effects like explosions & crashes, different & many say better. It's traditional & on purpose for the hardcores too, to keep it real, but some take things way too seriously.
That said, Shin Godzilla is genuinely terrifying! Hope you enjoy & give the big King a decent chance. In time, or maybe right away, you'll be glad you did!
I also strongly recommend reading the history of the Godzilla franchise on WIKIPEDIA. Clears alot up.
