According to the rules, the asteroid paths do divide zones. I haven't watched the video to completion so I'm not sure you you all eventually realize the rules error. Happy Holidays btw.
Well poop. I just found a pdf of the rules - not that I doubted you - mostly to see how I missed that. And I think it was due to the scoring example on page 3 *not* demonstrating this rule. It shows 9 different scoring zones, but they're all, basically, uncut. So I'm guessing that when I got to that page, it knocked that short simple sentence from page 2 out of my head. But even so, 100% my bad. As to Andrew Barnes 's point: I'm not sure I see how the real rule changes the game that much, though. It likely lowers scoring a bit, but we're all still trying to do the same thing, right? And the way final scoring works, this is not really a game you can specialize in. Hmm... it might - probably not, but maybe - make an Asteroid path strategy a teeny but more viable? But again, you'd still need to focus on everything else. Also, it would probably make players less inclined to risk taking the bonus tokens..? It'd definitely be harder to see how your zone might stack up against other players. I'd certainly be happy to try it again the correct way. Again, not a defense or excuse for my missing that rule. Just wondering if the game play is really that much different, either way.

I had this game but couldn't get it to the table in my game group even though it's a fun game. Too light for heavy gamers, too much work for a filler. It's more of a family night game and I think kids (and the adults who play with them) would love it.
The bag with tiles doesn't seem handy at all. Much easier to just make a bunch of face down piles and shuffle those. The game seems nice and the video is great as always

@28:40 when Monique was scoring, I think she counted her blue spaces incorrectly, she added them as one whole when they were 3 different spaces? My bad, it looked as if she counted as one, but I see each 2 blue are worth points! Enjoyed this episode, will need to add this to my collection.
Curiously, I find the way Dave coaches Nicki on her moves slightly more uncomfortable, knowing that they aren't married to each other. Lincoln also gets extra points for me, knowing he's playing with his wife this entire time and never makes comments on camera about her play style. Literally every married gamer-guy I play with talks smack about the way his wife plays.
Amul Kumar I find they don’t necessarily talk smack but I find most women are not allowed to just play a game the way they want (and it’s true of this series as well). Any time it’s a woman’s turn every guy has to jump in and explain things and the options they may have. I don’t know as it’s necessarily nefarious...just interesting. The same happens in our game group as well. Maybe it’s just the guys want to “protect” the woman in some nerd way? I don’t know. I try to keep myself from doing it and as long as my gf isn’t breaking the rules I try to let her figure things out. I have to admit, it’s hard sometimes. She’s a good player and often beats me so I don’t know why I keep helping, lol! 😜
@@Tennethums1 They were two related but separate thoughts. Mansplaining games to women while you're playing is one thing. The other thought was that every married guy I know who plays board games has some pet peeve about his wife's playstyle which he feels perfectly justified in complaining about.

I bought this a couple of months ago 2nd hand and thought this is going to sit and never play......... til now. I’m going to bring it to my next meet.

I thought about that too but maybe it's easier for her to process them if they were turned over one by one compared to being spread out all at once.
