It is impossible to have a poor rendition of this masterpiece, for its superb marriage of words and music - - a cry from mankind for peace, for justice, and, for mercy - - assures it’s success!!!
I've heard some say -more or less-the same about many of the works of JSBach, BUT I've not heard sufficient Ideale/JSB performances to test the truth of such an assertion as to no "poor rendition." What I will say is that this lady gives a very sensitive and pleasing presentation. In my innocence, I thought this was a song where the singer was longing for the lost love's return-and nothing else? I admit that I could be incorrect, since I do not know what may have inspired the libretto, A truly wonderful song.
Preciosa.
