Hey Steve, I am considering going the opposite direction and cancelling the phone as my camera entirely (apart from maybe a quick snap of some information for later, which doesn't need the fanciest camera ever) and instead a camera that will give great results if I have the time but also performs reasonably well in a pinch (evenings on the balcony, small concerts of friends, travel etc). A friend recommended the G7 mark II, do you have a pointer for me? Cheers!

The smaller micro 4/3 cameras are great. I'm not too familiar with the G7, but I know people that love their Panasonics. The biggest pointer I can give is to try going to a camera store and picking one up. Make sure it feels good in your hands. If it's not comfortable and easy to grab and hold, you won't use it. Get something that feels good.
