- With OvGME The BEST Mod Manager for DCS World we can toggle mods on and off with a click of a button. In this tutorial we do over the setup for 'Core' mods, meaning mods that need to be installed into the main DCS installation folder. You can also setup a different profile in OVGME to manage the mods that are installed in the 'Saved Games' folder.

! Very Important !
You must disable all the core mods prior to updating DCS or you will have the files overwritten by the update.

TNX man!!!
You're welcome! 🤘
I was having issues installing the retextures for Caucasus and I can finally enjoy it. Thank you!
That's great! It's nice to toggle mods off one by one when you are doing some troubleshooting eh
Very helpful and cleared up a few things for me. I downloaded it years ago, but didn't use it much (or that many mods). Time to revisit this, thanks.
Not a problem, glad I could help!
@@Afty86 Yeah, I watched a different video prior to finding yours. He did a decent job, but yours was much easier to understand and he left out a few things that you mentioned. Toggling instead of separately clicking 'enable' / 'disable' was one. More importantly, he never talked about creating a backup folder. Liked and subbed 👍🏽
Thank you very much!!! 🤘
First of all: Thanks! Question I have: I am also using the Steam-Version of DCS. How do you disable the automatic updates in a manner that you know when it is going to update so you can disable all mods? I can not figure it out :(
I got this from steam. 'If you'd like to stop Steam from automatically updating a game, select "Only update this game when I launch it" from the game's Library page > Properties > Updates.'
If you are in the offical DCS discord they send out a ping when an update drops so you can keep tabs on it that way also.
Pretty sure the team previously supporting/developing OvGME have resigned it to the dreaded 'legacy' bin. Maybe look up Open Mod Manager; it's their new jam. Best of luck!
Indeed they have a program and ovgme is now unsupported. I have used both. Ovgme was just more user friendly. There are some great features with the new mod manager tho so you can't go wrong with either! 🤘
@@Afty86 "Ovgme was just more user friendly". This was the question I was wondering after watching a tutorial for OMM. Thanks
@@redtailpilot no problem, I still use OVGME!
@@Afty86 definitely looks more user friendly to me as well 😂
what is the best website to download mods from?
Check out the DCS User Files here - www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/
My mods dont have the Bazar or Mods.
What mods are you trying to install? When I'm on my pc I'll have a look and see
@Afty86 it's the f22A community 2 mod. And the VSN f35. I had the normal DCS, so I'm downloading open beta to see if that works.
@@colewilder6196 I'm not sure why this comment got flagged but I fixed it now. Those mods go into the saved games folder ie. C:\Users\YOURNAME\Saved Games you can setup a different profile for the saved games mod. Sorry for the late reply like I said it got flagged.
@Afty86 Thanks, but now I realize I have to buy the flaming cliffs dlc lol. Thanks for the assistance.
@@colewilder6196 DCS is having a pretty good sale right now, def check it out!
