Yeah that pisses me off. “Your trauma is affecting others even while you’re working on becoming better? Oh the best thing for you is to have never been born” is such a bad conclusion
they ended themselves circumstancially because their BIRTH was causing the whole timeline problems thanks to reginald spreading marigold....not because of their trauma...honestly i called it around season 2 that appocalypse was happening because of them in the first place and as soon as they realize they will sacrifice like the heroes they are
@ackerwoman16 There was a way to have them heroically sacrifice themselves, but this was not it. They just kind of gave up while they all hated each other. This ending says that the Umbrella Academy is so messed up that the world be better off if they NEVER even existed. And no one will no of their sacrifice so they have no legacy. Oh, and the fact that they tried to save their family and fight for each other only caused more pain and strife. That's an absurdly cruel ending that undermines the shows core themes.
The show runner was interviewed stating that he wanted Sloan to be in S4, w memory loss, & Luther working to have her fall in love w him again. Way better storyline so they should've never even considered 5 hooking up w Lila.
@@ssaiyan4mThat’s extra funny knowing they very easily could’ve not used the “ape suit” for Luthers actor (forget his name) and it honestly would’ve made more sense to not have Luther be part ape given he wasn’t injected with ape dna in this timeline and just drank the Marigold. I’m sure that would’ve saved a ton of money in the costuming budget which could’ve been used elsewhere; For example, the Sloane plotline.
Yes but the show was cancelled...it was supposed to be 7 seasons and that's why it makes sense that it doesn't work out with 6 episodes for logistical and time reasons (Netflix wanted a quick ending and that's what they got) look at the film set in season 3's last episode, we didn't see it in the current season...or where they said two years ago that Ben on the train was the real one (which makes sense because the universe reset and everyone who was dead is back) and that Sloane is alive...nobody talks about Project Oblivian anymore either! Did you find out Reginald's goals and plans? Or that he's an alien...🤦♀️ there wasn't even a timeline! This season is really bad and an insult to pay €9.99 every month
5:13 Netflix released a few deleted scenes that were supposed to be in s4 (it’s a crime they didn’t make it all in) but the last one is a really touching scene where we get to see Klaus, after being buried alive, go to an AA meeting and sort of, explain himself. I found it really touching and i think without that piece at the end of s4 his story felt incomplete and the loose end of his character was abandoned- so i def recommend giving that deleted scene a watch.
The “Sparrow Ben” subway scene is the most obvious retcon, it was clearly set up to be an alternate version of Ben but they had to scrap the idea because they only got one more 6 episode season
Apparently it was always sparrow Ben from the beginning, there’s a QR code on the wall of the train in that scene that confirms it I think if I remember correctly
The fact that they took a show about how kids from a highly abusive father, which could gradually support each other and slowly heal. Deal with the trauma, guilt, anger, anxiety and depression of that upbringing. Always thinking they were to blame for faults and problems. Slowly develop new bonds between each other heal each other and grow together. To then say, you know what, you are actually the problem, you are actually the reason why everything is bad, everything is wrong, repeatedly, through every time line for all eternity. The only solution is to erase yourselves from existence. It's just, phew, horrifically damaging and unthoughtful of the writers.

Netflix should have taken the budget from NATLA and given it to what was a solid series like the umbrella academy but they are too greedy. Do better @netflix
That's so unfortunate! This reminds me of how Disney cut funding for The Owl House. I wish Netflix didn't do that because now we're left with a shitty final season.
netflix are the worst producers they give the illusion of creative liberty at the start and then either cancel shows or force the creatives to alter completely what they had planned to finish faster. they ruin everything
I'd like to add that Klaus wasn't a germaphobe because he wasn't immortal anymore (or at least not MAINLY because of that). He used EVERYTHING in and out of the book. If he gets sick, he might have to go to a hospital (so many meds in one place so close could be a trigger) and have something prescribed or injected and that could make him fall off the wagon again. I believe most medications would jolt something within him - slippery slope, as they say. He wanted to stay clean for Claire (I loved Uncle Klaus SO MUCH)
Korean Subway Ben was SPARROW Ben! In interviews Steve Blackman teased that OoOoOo we'd jsut have to wait and see what he's up to!!!! .....and then boom........that subway scene meant nothing They just dropped it... so ig now it just means that sparrow ben took the subway in korea at one point... that's it... I thought it was Umbrella Ben reborn into the New timeline, which would've been better idk, but no. It was Sparrow Ben and then they dropped that.
He had Umbrella Ben's hair style too, I thought it was two Ben's in the same timeline... because of the reset. Which would make sense because we now know from Season 4 the timelines were bleeding into each other. Imagine two Ben's being competitive and arguing over who is "a better Ben". 😂 Yeah, I'm upset they did absolutely nothing with that scene. 🙈
I’m confused… if they ceased to exist how can their kids be alive in the original timeline? And how did Reginald keep coming back in each timeline even though he died??
Its insane imo. Every major characters story was either redone, changed to be worse, or outright dropped. Not everything needs to be explained but you cant just never talk about Reggies origin or the other powered babies. If the Durango needed to mix with the Marigold of the original siblings, why does Sparrow Ben count? Did OG Ben never even bother to ask about how he died? Abigail really said "its fucked up you brought me back so to pay for my sins im destroying everything?" Why did Luther get his Gorilla body back?? His power is super strength, the body was from a surgery. They're completely unrelated. Why did Allison suddenly stop using her mind control, gain full blown telekinesis, and barely even use THAT????? And WOW they got over her terrible acts very very fast. What she did to Luther, how she ended season 3. She just ends unredeemed. The Five and Lila subplot could have worked if it was hinted at far in advance. We know they knew each other for a long time. We know Five is very quick to fall in love. We know they had nearly 7 full years together with no other contact. But doing it in one and a half episodes, and leaving Five and Deigo hating eachother is insane. RIP Sloan i guess nobody really cared for you sorry. Luther instead gets to be one big joke with 0 leadership qualities anymore. And Viktor forgiving hargreeves is insane. Hes literally the cause of everything bad in your life come oonnnnnnnnn. The plot should have cut jennifer, and made it about having 2 alternate bens in one timeline being the problem that causes everything
apparently they **did** want sloane in s4, but that plotline had to be cut for time :( so unfortunate! and the 2 alternate bens thing wouldve been so much better 😔
I could smell that ending a mile away and tho I wasn’t necessarily happy with it I think I understand it. Season 2 was my favorite season of a show like ever so I’m just glad I could experience this show
I will never understand why they didn’t just put Ben double in the train with five. Since it would’ve filled up the plot hole with an alternative timeline with the original Ben and he got in the timetravel room
i've never felt so distraught over a show ending, i swear. the entire plot was so so interesting and unique, i grew soooo attached to these characters and was looking forward to their storylines ☹️☹️
What I don’t understand about S4s ending is why Lila couldn’t escape. In timeline #1, there are about 35 other marigold adults that are not “fusing” to the Durango monster. So if Lila stayed or escaped, the outcome would be the same right? And this is not mentioning the marigold children/adults in ALL the other timelines. Idk why this single timeline where they succumb to the Durango is what it takes to erase ALL the marigold in EVERY timeline. Why didn’t the sparrow academy in a different timeline have to make the same decision? It makes no sense
I didn't mind what the ending was, just how they did it. the homewrecking issue unresolved, and their solution just came out of no where, like the last few minutes of the episode. would've been better if they presented this ultimate solution near the middle of the season so all the characters had some time to do what they needed to do and close some stories before their fate. All that wasted time on side stories that contributed absolutely nothing to the story couldve been used for other things we actually wanted to see. And them breaking Luther's character by making him somehow the happiest and cheeriest he's ever been since the start of the show while working as a stripper, instead seeing him deal with loosing his love. That was a damn crime.
I hate how much this show moved on from its past, it would have been great to see it all tied up by bring them back to the original reality, it felt like with each season they just kept getting more and more lost without a satisfying resolution, they just straight up get rid of all the development they established in the last 3 seasons, og ben was just gone for good as if he never existed and the reginald from the og reality was hinted at being more of a sympathetic character when klaus met him in the afterlife but now well never know his true intention or see his true form
@@MaccyCheeze mb never realized someone replied- still why tell him that if they will just eventually lose in the end. Do they want them to die sooner???
It should have ended with them fighting Reggie bc they find out he’s an alien and he’s trying to stop them from saving the world. And in the end, vik kills him and takes everyone’s marigold and sacrifices himself. BUT, if the marigold needs to be destroyed, then how come all the other 45 people with marigold didn’t have to die and just our original 8
to me nothing beats Season 2. Diagos hair should i say more? okay the 60's vibe the story picking up in a way we didn't expect being the different years the siblings all arrived and have to find eachother. the relationships being at peak especially when they are at the Tiki bar and even though they are all on the same page they are dysfunctional learning they brought the end of the world back with them was really cool. character growth was written really well between all characters Luther going through a "break up" aliision tackling the old racist ways of that era of time. Viktor finally being able to be happy and falling in love and the dynamic of a relationship between two women for the era of time. Diago feeling the need of approval and going to extremes to make his dad proud but also tell him off. and Klaus who finally learns self acceptance and forgives himself for Ben and that weight taken off his shoulders ( AND ALSO THE CULT ) and five having a conversation with his dad and understanding his powers and what the reason is he wants to save the world being his family. seeing stuff being established with good ol reggie with Pogo and the original human mom was really cool and the music bro i do got to admit the last episode was iffy but season 2 will always be one of my favourites the Swedes funeral was great and the commission aspect and the introduction of Lila and Diago is peak. to see that all ripped away in season 4 hurt
10:00 Erm. Actually you're wrong. We got TWO lines about Sloan. The other one was at a flea market before they got attacked by the entire village. But yeah, that whole thing makes no sense. THIS Hargreeves knew Sloan, raised her. (They could of AT LEAST had a line or scene where he admits not putting her in this timeline because he resented her for drugging him for years) Also... Ray. Allison moved heaven and earth for them to be together and.... 1 line... He walked out.
I really enjoyed seasons 1-3, but I've been putting off watching 4. I was hoping this video would give me motivation in that regard, but it's making me think that just leaving it at the end of 3 might be the better option.
i would recommend 'skim watching' it. like watching the whole thing is not worth it at all but there are some well done scenes, like the fight scene with luther and diego, or the santa claus thing. skip through and maybe watch the scenes you like? id also say to probably just skip the final episode completely apart from the coffee shop scene its great.
i feel like since they were going down the time travel route and they knew about the time subway thing- why didn't they go back to when ben spiked their drinks with the marigold (have them like fight themselves or something idk) and then give it to the alien thing so they didn't have to die?? and then maybe resolve major plot points like the love triangle ????
Not to do with s4 but honestly the scene in s1 where exit music (for a film) bu radiohead is used might beone of my favourite scenes from anything ever.
On top of that the flowers at the end had marrigold. Since they got powers from drinking it, something is going to eat those flowers, gain powers, and end the world for good.
Do we know if there's more durango in that timeline? Or was it all inside Jennifer? Also, do we know what happened after the Bennifer gloop monster absorbed the Umbrellas? Like, did that cancel out the durango? Or was there still durango power in the gloop? What would Reginald and Abigail do with the gloop? So many unanswered questions!
What a diaper fire of an ending. They totally abandoned Klaus abilities. Klaus needs his own show. He was immortal, and basically a God of the afterlife. He could solve all the worlds secrets, and meet anyone of importance on the other side. What a waste of a character. Netflix screwed the pooch again.
If I had to make a single change so that the ending wouldn't feel so bitter, it would be to make the Five and Lila plotline happen a little earlier. Imagine if Five found the Five Diner WHILE he was lost. Maybe even before something happens between him and Lila. Then, we would have him know that they were doomed in the middle of all the romantic development, not after the heartbreak. With that, their relationship has a little more weight, since he can offer to stay knowing how fruitless their endeavor really is, AND it also gives the audience a little more time to accept that ending it all is the only option. We would have more time to grieve along with the characters, more time to develop their goodbyes, and also more time to maybe solve the sibling conflict or realize nothing matters, idk. I just feel that it would have given the more egregious plotlines a bit more purpose.
Netflix has started to make me lose faith in their shows a movies. I’m extremely worried about Stranger Things 5 now. Also My Chemical Romance is the bomb
this video randomly pop up on my list and when I read the title, I was like YES!!! it is not just me! ** OBVIOUS SPOILER ALERT** I am in no way a die hard umbrella academy fan. But I appreciate the nuances and witty dialogue...and how the characters are each unique yet mesh well together. especially Five..he hard carry the show in trying to 'save the world'. and it was funny to see how an 'old man' is stuck in a young boy's body with his old man antics. but when: => Five ended up kissing u know who I was like wait wait hold up wtf is this?!? is this even necessary?! I had to google to ensure we are not seeing some underaged issue here. but still.. HOW IS THIS RELEVANT?! what about him being all so "all for my family" and now he is basically slapping his bro in the face. => the whole marigold issue of them sacrificing themselves when one of them could totally 'manipulate' marigold? like ahem ahem. better to go down tgt than sacrificing one is it? your point about Klaus was exactly what I felt. the character build up and then everything was lost? It just felt like the whole 3 seasons build up to a mediocre ending...
im sorry but who tf writes a whole story, countless hours of effort, makes the characters develop so well and make so many memories, lose so much in the process, and then have it all just be worthless. like you've gotta be shitting me rn, season 4 finale literally rendered the entire point of the show useless.
I was digging season 4 for the first 2 episodes, but then once I got to ep 3 I was like hmm how tf are they gonna wrap all this up in 3 more episodes, and they just rushed it 🤦♂️ still love the first 3 seasons.
Man five was my favourite since the comics, since season one. And they ruined him just because steve blackman doesn't know how to write a character arc that doesn't include a pointless romance arc. Im so mad.
I have a strong suspicion that a lot of S4 was written by AI, likely due to the writers strike. S4 spent and wasted a massive amount of time on meaningless fluff (Klaus sidequest, Five/Lila affair) while forgetting to include context from or answer unanswered questions from the previous seasons. Literally like a convo with ChatGPT. Another promising series flopped by Hollywood 😑
it's a shame that they cancelled umbrella academy after 3 seasons, it's just up to our imagination for season 4 i guess since they never made it with plot holes, and inconsistent characters we can only imagine what could have been!!
I was honestly intrigued by the Five x Lila story, but the timing was atrocious. That is a storyline you NEED to flesh out. Leaving it where they left it is just outrageous.
Honestly when five x lila happened I turned off the show. How are you gonna take this character who in the past 2 seasons was all about wanting a family and being scared of having a family and finally accepting what she wants and getting it and then instead of building on that she just. Leaves them for 6 years, doesn't talk about missing her kids or husband once in that time, then make out with her husbands brother??? Nah fuck off this was just insulting.
If they made a show following Reginald The original Reginald in like a - Umbrella Academy: The Reginald Files - or something like that I’d be super cool and let fans understand more about his backstory
The reason I disliked the ending is that it makes all of the events of the previous 3 seasons not happen & their sacrifice not matter (because the flowers grew back anyways)
Omg me too! It was my favorite but season 4 I was just thinking like WHYYYy the whole time it makes no sense looks like the writers didn’t know what to write and just wrote whatever
Everything wrong with Season 4 1. Klaus did nothing all season 2. Klaus never found out how ben died 3. No cool fight scenes 4. Five and Lila 5. Five and Diego having a 'broken marriage' 6. Some characters having power ups, others nothing new at all 7. No pogo 8. Giant squid never explained 9. Reggie and wife backstory not explored enough at all 10. Meh CGI 11. It literally ended with all of it being for nothing since they couldn't save themselves 12. Five getting with Lila was so out of character after 6 years when he fucked a mannequin for like 30 years 13. Five died thinking Diego hated him 14. Five died thinking Lila just used him 15. No Ray or Sloane after they were super important in S2 and S3 16. No explanation on the time travelling subway or the secret room in hotel oblivion 17. Why was Abigail put to sleep on the moon? 18. Alison just gets forgiven? Its never talked about 19. Luther was literally an astronaut in season 1 now hes dumb as hell? 20. They are reborn as flowers with marigold coming out of them? The whole point was to destroy all marigold so it wouldn't happen again? 21. How does one timeline of no marigold fix all the other timelines with all the 40 odd people with marigold 22. Ben meets Jennifer and is instantly in love???? 23. Ben never gets to say goodbye 24. Why did Abigail wait 6 years to help the siblings get their powers back and start her plan? 25. Not one sibling got a satisfying ending
What I've been wondering is that they needed to get rid of the Marigold in the 8 main characters in order to end the cycle of world ending, but did the universe reset get rid of the Marigold in all 43 children? Did those other children with the marigold in them live still, like Korean Ben? Does that mean all the marigold having to be destroyed didn't really need to be all the marigold?
Luther actually got two Sloane lines. Not one, he also says "Sloane would have loved this" in the second episode as he looks at the sconces. still not enough tho
i feel like it only felt that devastating is because there was 0 growth or development for any of the characters. it just felt like they did shit, and that was it
The criticism that they wasted no time fast forwarding through the fallout of season 3 to jump start season 4’s plot is all the worse considering they clearly had very little interest in actually developing or following that plot in the slightest. 6/7 characters basically just “show up” at the end to resolve the show because they technically needed a wrap
When I saw season 4 had come out on Netflix, I had not seen any trailers or news about, no rating with the stupid tomatoes, and no public opinion. So I really went into the final season with Nothing but love for the show as I like all previous seasons. So when I "finished" the show (haven't finished the last ep yet) I kinda enjoyed it with some parts that I didn't like (Lila and five for example) and did like ( ep 2 ) but tbh everything else is starting to fade away since it doesn't feel memorable. I like Ron Swanson and his wife but didn't feel truly connected like it would have been cool to see them in kahoots with Mr Hargreaves but no but thats okay
I can understand the ending they wanted but it made the whole show pointless for rewatching. (other than nostalgic enjoyment) I think the twist would of been better if it wasn't a multiverse but whenever 5 blinked into the past or a different timeline, they were creating new versions. (which would explain 5 getting his arm cut off and getting the tattoo in season 3.) S1: What was the point of Reginald ending his own life? Why did Klaus stay dead in the apocalypses? Klaus and Ben NEVER talked about how he died? REALLY? Vanya never asked about how ben died or never noticed how obviously brain washed they were? S2: What was the point of our 5 telling his past self the right coordinates? S3: What was the point of Stanley and his leaky ears? What was the point of Klaus overcoming his powers? God I hate Allison. Her only redeeming feature is how talented the actress is. (It was her first tv show btw.) I could go on but it still hurts a bit
Honestly I felt like the characters changed a lot in s4.specially five !! S4 is something that doesn’t make sense to me.specially five’s change.I deleted s4 from my life
the stupid notebook 5 & lila use to get back is bothering me so much. HOW DID IT GET THERE AND HOW WOULD IT HAVE DIRECTIONS TO GET THEM EXACTLY BACK TO WHERE THEY NEED TO GO?? They didn’t say “this lets us read the map” or “understand the train schedule” or ANYTHING LIKE THAT, THEY SAID THE NOTEBOOK WAS DIRECTIONS HOME! TO THEIR PLATFORM! people are saying one of the 5’s but WHY WOULD IT HAVE DIRECTIONS BACK TO OUR 5’S PLATFORM THEN make it make sense 😭
to explain the alien tech in modern world: regional came to earth and advanced human technology however because of his involvement jump starting human technology, you see a lack of modern technology (think iphones for example) as he made such a big jump in advancement.
Agreed with 100% of this video. I like the ending, I like the peremenance of it. However, it would've had better payoff if the characters and their plotlines were handled properly. Viktor and Ben were okay, but the writers basically screwed everyone and it breaks my heart.
I have a long list of problems with the final season but I think I would've started with not giving them their powers back. The Umbrellas always treated their powers like necessities rather than aspects of themselves that they liked.
My dear, my I ask if you are on Tumblr? I saw a video of someone's shrine(idk if that is the word I would use) of TUA and they also had that word board of "I hear a rumor". And no, I don't think it is psychotic to watch a show you love multiple times. I do that too, sometimes to the point where I can say the dialogue along with the characters. Becaue it makes it more fun. And I also agree ablut the season 2 opening with My Way. It made it even more emotional for me since that was one of the songs we played at my dad's funeral. Great video btw!
It made no sense at all. Also how does Lilas and Allisons kids still exist if they never existed?? It should have ended with Vanya/Victor saving the family and the world. The person that wasn't a hero in the beginning being the biggest in the end.
@@TheLeadStrikerhelp he was hyping it all up and that’s what he came up with? It’s like he forgot about it until that interview and just made something up on the spot 💀
S4 was just awful a lot plot holes and just completely ignored character traits stuff. Biggest one was Luther getting is ape body back and why give them all semi upgraded powers but barely utilize them. There was some enjoyable aspect of S4 but overall a pretty big letdown. Think S4 would have been way better if they finally came together as a healthily all be it a dysfunctional family to save the timeline and use there powers to their fullest potential.
tuxedo cat nice video also just curious if you had any superpower what would it be and what would your weakness be? My superpower would be intuitive manifestation I can manifest up to six powers for 24hs and after 24hs they get replaced with six other abilities that Replaces those six abilities and my weakness would be high frequencies that negates my abilities.
one thing that also struck me... 5 can rewind time, we saw that in the second season 🤦♀️ why didn't he prevent the fusion of Jennifer and Ben 🤣? then the purge would never have happened... so much nonsense at once
the characters were well written i watched a video about the comics and i was like "great show, bad comic line" im glad i didnt even watch the last one yet, 6 episodes is a slap to the face, the storylines ive heard after episode 2 was rubbish, it sucks cause i was a fan since i heard they were coming out with a non marvel non dc show
If you were going to have Lila and Five have feels for one another, you should have established sexual tension when they first met and were trying to kill one another. Maybe have a honey pot thing.
Yes! I mean, Five fought Lila while she was naked in that S3 scene where she'd been in the bath in the Hotel Obsidian, but there was no hint of sexual tension in the fight scene (maybe because of Aidan's age?) And I know that the characters lived through 13 years after that, but for us watching it, those years were mostly skipped over. there was that "Six years later" skipping over all the characters' lives with just a few lines of summary, and then "We were stuck in the subway for seven years" for Five and Lila but giving us only one episode to take that in... Oh, maybe Lila wiping food off Five's face in the cafe was supposed to be a hint? But it seemed like we were meant to think that was a ridiculous idea, Diego was worrying about nothing, Lila and Five were just focused on the Keepers and Gene & Jean...
The fact that it’s a show about dealing with mental health and they choose an ending where they decide to off themselves and give up

In interviews Steve Blackman teased that OoOoOo we'd jsut have to wait and see what he's up to!!!! .....and then boom........that subway scene meant nothing
They just dropped it... so ig now it just means that sparrow ben took the subway in korea at one point... that's it...
I thought it was Umbrella Ben reborn into the New timeline, which would've been better idk, but no. It was Sparrow Ben and then they dropped that.
Sparrow Ben taking the subway to escape the country after bankrupting thousands
No, why did they say that in an interview while they weren't on the show? Like every single fan thought it was our Ben.
He had Umbrella Ben's hair style too, I thought it was two Ben's in the same timeline... because of the reset.
Which would make sense because we now know from Season 4 the timelines were bleeding into each other.
Imagine two Ben's being competitive and arguing over who is "a better Ben". 😂
Yeah, I'm upset they did absolutely nothing with that scene. 🙈

Abigail really said "its fucked up you brought me back so to pay for my sins im destroying everything?"
Why did Luther get his Gorilla body back??
One of the most underrated songs in the show is hello in Swedish in season 2 really described the feeling of the episode so well.
i've never felt so distraught over a show ending, i swear.
the entire plot was so so interesting and unique, i grew soooo attached to these characters and was looking forward to their storylines ☹️☹️
It makes no sense
plot holes bigger than the grand fucking canyon, thought five was smarter than this.
Downhill after S.3 but S.4 was straight HeLL😭😭😭😭😭
It should have ended at Season 3. Season 4 was so bad, I was more accepting of them losing their powers and that’s it. Live their lives
Another plot hole I just remembered is why did old five in the commission tell our five to not save the world?????? Never gets explained
Because that's how the show ends, they don't defeat "the cleanse" they let it consume them.
because of oblivian

(They could of AT LEAST had a line or scene where he admits not putting her in this timeline because he resented her for drugging him for years)
Also...
Don't watch season 4
LEAVE IT. It’s so rushed and so many holes you will be left disappointed. But watch it, just to enjoy them one last season 😢
i would recommend 'skim watching' it. like watching the whole thing is not worth it at all but there are some well done scenes, like the fight scene with luther and diego, or the santa claus thing. skip through and maybe watch the scenes you like? id also say to probably just skip the final episode completely apart from the coffee shop scene its great.
My suggestion is to say 'I heard a rumour there were only 3 seasons of Umbrella Academy' and move onto a new show
yeah it was my fav show too, they did these characters dirty :(
i feel like since they were going down the time travel route and they knew about the time subway thing- why didn't they go back to when ben spiked their drinks with the marigold (have them like fight themselves or something idk) and then give it to the alien thing so they didn't have to die?? and then maybe resolve major plot points like the love triangle ????
Not to do with s4 but honestly the scene in s1 where exit music (for a film) bu radiohead is used might beone of my favourite scenes from anything ever.
They were born accidentally then was made to think that the universe is better without them ever existing. Lol
On top of that the flowers at the end had marrigold. Since they got powers from drinking it, something is going to eat those flowers, gain powers, and end the world for good.
WAITTT ok but that’d actually be crazy hahaha
Do we know if there's more durango in that timeline? Or was it all inside Jennifer? Also, do we know what happened after the Bennifer gloop monster absorbed the Umbrellas? Like, did that cancel out the durango? Or was there still durango power in the gloop? What would Reginald and Abigail do with the gloop? So many unanswered questions!
@@imdbbookaholic I know right!
If the family are alive without parents in this new timeline at the end, doesn't that mean another Kugelblitz will form?
I just feel that it would have given the more egregious plotlines a bit more purpose.
you literally said everything i think abt this season
Don't forget Billy Idol's "Bitter Taste" near the end of season 3. ❤
Netflix has started to make me lose faith in their shows a movies. I’m extremely worried about Stranger Things 5 now. Also My Chemical Romance is the bomb
this video randomly pop up on my list and when I read the title, I was like YES!!! it is not just me!
** OBVIOUS SPOILER ALERT**
I am in no way a die hard umbrella academy fan. But I appreciate the nuances and witty dialogue...and how the characters are each unique yet mesh well together.
especially Five..he hard carry the show in trying to 'save the world'. and it was funny to see how an 'old man' is stuck in a young boy's body with his old man antics.
but when:
=> Five ended up kissing u know who I was like wait wait hold up wtf is this?!? is this even necessary?!
Im so mad.
That final season made Game of Thrones look like an effing masterpiece, I mean….. wow
When you said you watch the Frist two five times, right there with you. I watched them like 7 times, counting some episodes of season 3.
They ruined it so bad. It almost felt like it was on purpose
I think that too…
i will never forgive the writers for lila and five. please make me forget that ever happened
I’m honestly scared to watch season 4 because that sounds insanely disappointing for a last season of a pretty good show
Do yourself a favour and skip it. Trust me, you're better off without it. It just destroys everything that came before.
You should watch it. It would put an end to rewatching the show and supporting the people that made season 4.
skip it and imagine the s3 finale as the true ending like they merged a new timeline or something or hopefully someone will rewrite s4 as a fanfic😂
@@samjaneannie5831i have seen s4 rewrites on ao3 already! havent checked them out, but im sure more is to come
it's a shame that they cancelled umbrella academy after 3 seasons, it's just up to our imagination for season 4 i guess since they never made it with plot holes, and inconsistent characters we can only imagine what could have been!!
@@ic5889 not to mention they did all this bullshit in the LAST 2 EPISODES OF THE FUCKING SEASON 😭talk about shitty timing
If they made a show following Reginald The original Reginald in like a - Umbrella Academy: The Reginald Files - or something like that I’d be super cool and let fans understand more about his backstory
THAT’S A GOOD IDEA
@@tuxedocat123 fr it would make use love the show even more (unless they did it horribly)
Also can we point out, that they wrote Ray, a black man, as an absent father? WHAT?
The reason I disliked the ending is that it makes all of the events of the previous 3 seasons not happen & their sacrifice not matter (because the flowers grew back anyways)
They also didn't even really TRY fighting bennifer they just kinda.. gave up.
Omg me too! It was my favorite but season 4 I was just thinking like WHYYYy the whole time it makes no sense looks like the writers didn’t know what to write and just wrote whatever
Everything wrong with Season 4
1. Klaus did nothing all season
2. Klaus never found out how ben died
3. No cool fight scenes
4. Five and Lila
5. Five and Diego having a 'broken marriage'
6. Some characters having power ups, others nothing new at all
7. No pogo
8. Giant squid never explained
9. Reggie and wife backstory not explored enough at all
10. Meh CGI
11. It literally ended with all of it being for nothing since they couldn't save themselves
12. Five getting with Lila was so out of character after 6 years when he fucked a mannequin for like 30 years
13. Five died thinking Diego hated him
14. Five died thinking Lila just used him
15. No Ray or Sloane after they were super important in S2 and S3
16. No explanation on the time travelling subway or the secret room in hotel oblivion
17. Why was Abigail put to sleep on the moon?
18. Alison just gets forgiven? Its never talked about
19. Luther was literally an astronaut in season 1 now hes dumb as hell?
20. They are reborn as flowers with marigold coming out of them? The whole point was to destroy all marigold so it wouldn't happen again?
21. How does one timeline of no marigold fix all the other timelines with all the 40 odd people with marigold
22. Ben meets Jennifer and is instantly in love????
23. Ben never gets to say goodbye
I fully recommend doom patrol if a desfuntional superhero family is what you crave
Weird how the show teaches you no matter how hard you try just give up in the end? Is that the lesson?
what season 4? there are only 3 seasons in ua! :D (we cope by being delulu)
(other than nostalgic enjoyment)
I think the twist would of been better if it wasn't a multiverse but whenever 5 blinked into the past or a different timeline, they were creating new versions. (which would explain 5 getting his arm cut off and getting the tattoo in season 3.)
S1: What was the point of Reginald ending his own life?
Why did Klaus stay dead in the apocalypses?
Klaus and Ben NEVER talked about how he died? REALLY?
Vanya never asked about how ben died or never noticed how obviously brain washed they were?
S2:
What was the point of our 5 telling his past self the right coordinates?
S3:
What was the point of Stanley and his leaky ears?
What was the point of Klaus overcoming his powers?
God I hate Allison. Her only redeeming feature is how talented the actress is. (It was her first tv show btw.)
I could go on but it still hurts a bit
Well, since I haven't watched 4, and I never hear anything good about, I hereby decide that I won't watch it, and I will consider that it ended at 3.

Agreed with 100% of this video. I like the ending, I like the peremenance of it.
However, it would've had better payoff if the characters and their plotlines were handled properly.
Viktor and Ben were okay, but the writers basically screwed everyone and it breaks my heart.

I heard this was done before the writers strike. it was Netflix being cheap.
The thing i hated about this season the most is that they used their new-ish powers like once

OH WHAT A SHAME THIS SHOW WAS CANCELED AFTER THE THIRD SEASON I'LL NEVER FORGIVE NETFLIX FOR THAT 😓😔
I have a long list of problems with the final season but I think I would've started with not giving them their powers back.
The person that wasn't a hero in the beginning being the biggest in the end.

one thing that also struck me... 5 can rewind time, we saw that in the second season 🤦♀️ why didn't he prevent the fusion of Jennifer and Ben 🤣? then the purge would never have happened... so much nonsense at once
and what happened to the soundtrack in season 4? the soundtrack used to be so iconic, and there was none of that in the last season :/

the characters were well written i watched a video about the comics and i was like "great show, bad comic line" im glad i didnt even watch the last one yet, 6 episodes is a slap to the face, the storylines ive heard after episode 2 was rubbish, it sucks cause i was a fan since i heard they were coming out with a non marvel non dc show
If you were going to have Lila and Five have feels for one another, you should have established sexual tension when they first met and were trying to kill one another.
Some of the deleted scene should have not been deleted😭😭😭
They ended it early because they got short on cash. Paying the actors too much and the team. You'd think they would know how to budget better.
I am worried for Stranger Things.
This season seemed like it for hijacked by writers strike like something on the level of Heroes.
they put more budget into stranger things than on the umbrella academy… that explains why season 4 is… meh
