Its definitely one of the hardest ways to live life. We lived a relatively good modest life back home but no TV, no jewelry, no luxurious clothing or things of that nature made of animals, vegan lifestyle, lots of community work, all i had for entertainment was a cassette player with a radio it was books, books and more books and meditation in early morning.
Oh did i mention i wasnt allowed to drink coffee? Now i cant imagine going a day without drinking coffee in the morning. I wasnt even allowed to own a smartphone even after leaving all that life behind in india and i brought one with my own will when i got a job at 18. Her setup in that vid and the jewelry in her hand combined is probably worth more than my entire living room back home lol.

Honestly, I have a money manipulator like this in my family and it sucks. I've been in relationships where the guy just wants to spoil me and I have issues accepting it. It gives me anxiety thinking about all the money he wants to spend on me because I'm cheap. I don't want to feel like I owe a man sexual favors or something because he refuses to go 50/50 on a restaurant bill or something. It feels a bit uneven for me and makes me uncomfortable. Another thing that I've experienced is when I am on the road of figuring how to break off with someone, but they keep paying for everything and I don't want to feel like I owe them so I give them a bunch of gifts, or keep cooking for them or something, which definitely isn't a signal that I want to break things off.

Xavier Kohai even if you make good money, $1500 isn’t something that most people can just give up. Do some simple math. If someone makes $150k a year after taxes, $1500 is 1% of that. And at the end of the day, most people should be following the 50/20/30 rules; 50% on necessities, 20% on savings, 30% on discretionary spending. So you would be taking 1500 of the 45000 you have for the whole year to spend just for someone you just met. It’s not being broke, it’s being smart
