    Great job, looks like a hassle to get to the spark plugs, was thinking of buying a Nissan Versa, but after seen your video I better get a Corolla 🤣 thanks for sharing your experience

    Nice video.... it showed a few people I knew something about what I was talking about...they didn't know where the spark plugs were, and they argued with me about the coil packs on the top of the plugs...(I paid attention to a mechanic that was working on one, and it paid off) cause they surely didn't have a clue awesome 😎

      It is definitely not a first time a manufacturer put an intake manifold over the spark plugs. I do not expect this from a Japanese manufacturer though. Transverse mounted V6's are the worst.
      Thanks for watching.

      You haven't see a 2003 VW Jetta GLX V6 ! It is quite a task to do the Sparkplugs too, manifold sits also on top of the plugs.

      Once you've reassembled everything just sit in the car and turn the ignition key on to light up the dashboard lights (don't try to start the engine) Wait 2 seconds then switch it off. That's all that's needed to re calibrate the throttle position to the Ecu. Now it's ready to run.

    and even worse the injectors are under there too, and there are 8 of them. i think of them on my moms 2018 Micra has gone bad cause there is a misfire on 4 and I've already replaced the plugs and coils. I found that the bracket for the wire harness was installed on the car wrong as there was a tab from it left between the intake manifold and the engine potentially causing a vacuum leak from factory.

    I really hate this car. My wife just got it and I went to check the transmission fluid only to find out they don't give you a dipstick. Went to change the cabin air filter and had to watch a video to figure out how to install it. Apparently, you smash it and fish it through the hole because there is no other way to access it without tearing out the entire dash. Now I brought sparkplugs that I don't know if I even want to install because how difficult it is. Good thing she got it cheap, at least now I know never to buy a nissan.

    I can see the pcv valve on this is located by the side of the valve cover and connected via a hose to the Intake manifold. On mine pcv valve is located by the side of valve cover and it’s connected via a hose back to the valve cover. Do you this could cause oil going into the intake manifold always

    • @mechanicallyreclined643
      @mechanicallyreclined643  3 роки тому +5

      The instructions for the spark plugs are to turn the plugs down all the way by hand first. Then to tighten, turn another half turn or 180 degrees. The instructions were shown on the box at 6:50

    • @noncog1
      @noncog1 Рік тому

      @@MG3R why? Tight is tight on spark plugs, with a manifold you have a gasket to evenly compress but not destroy, but if you put every plug in with a dif torque but they were all tight enough to stay but not so tight that the threads get warped then theres absolutely no difference

    Need some advice. Hopefully you get this...
    2013 Nissan Versa 1.6 sv
    Have an issue with engine misfire. Got a code P0300.
    Replaced all spark plugs and coils. Went for a test drive. Everything was smooth until I was on my way home. One of the coils melted. The 4th coil to be exact. Got the code P0304.
    Replaced it with a new one but now the car won't start. It will crank but will not start. Battery keeps getting drained of course. Also the battery was already weak charge prior to replacing the coils.
    Not sure what to do. I'm trying to remove the alternator now to get it checked.
    Fuel pump works inside the tank. I can hear it when I turn the key on.
    I'm stuck.

    • @mechanicallyreclined643
      @mechanicallyreclined643  4 роки тому +2

      This is a tough one. It sounds like there is an issue with your coil ignition circuit. I would first check the harness wires and connections going to the coil packs for any type of damage. I would also remove and inspect the spark plug on the cylinder that burnt the coil for any damage or cracks on the porcelain part of the plug.
      As for the car not starting. I could be possible that when the coil burnt it may have damaged another ignition component somewhere further up the circuit. If none of the spark plugs are firing, I would look into components that provide the signals and power to the coil packs. Igniter or ignition control module, camshaft and or crankshaft position sensor and so on.
      I am not to familiar with the ignition circuits with this model of car but these are some of the things that come to mind for me when trouble shooting spark issues on vehicles with coil packs.
      I hope some of this was helpful. Thanks for commenting.
