It still hurts to see the ending. I wish just one year the Huskers could combine a great offense with a great defense. Maybe this year, I haven't given up faith yet.
He’s a brat too, he’s childish since he started playing at Nebraska, he was a bully in the locker room at Nebraska and was childish on the field with the Lions, he needs to grow up.
I love how everyone talks about there being one second, yet the clock runs out while the refs are still whistling. meaning the ball hitting the ground, the refs whistling, and the clock keeper reacting, it all happens in that one second, and it expires. Texas loses fair and square in any scenario of this game outside of the state of Texas. If you believe otherwise, and that human reaction time should be taken into account in clock management and removed, this game has easily a minimum of one minute left in it after that play.
+Prime Records I can agree to that, and despite being a die hard eagles fan, I became a RG3 fan in his rookie year because he showed talent and carried that team
One , had colt not gotten injured by James Harrison against the Steelers, he would have had a good year with the browns and probably become there guy. And two , he should have a national championship against Alabama . But again he got hurt and had to leave the game. Then the freshman came in and just couldn’t quite do the job. He just has been screwed over by unfortunately times injuries
Michael Wisdom His o-line is good...... He held on to the ball to long. The offensive line is not just going to stand there they have to move and react to the defense. Its suppost to be 2-3 seconds in the back field before a QB releases the ball.
+Phil Sepulveda Your wrong dude, the o line played terrible the night... If you actually watched the whole game towards the end, you would see McCoy was screaming at his o line. They weren't protecting him at all... But in their defense, Nebraska had the number 1 d line in the country at the time.
wow, you're a class act....are you basing that off of what you saw on the video? or did you watch it live? I remember it clearly that the refs whistled the play dead and the game over..so that's what I'm basing it on.
Forgot how bad McCoy got hit in that game. I'm convinced he took that first hit by Marcel Dareus in the NC and said, "Not this sh@t again, I'm going to get ready for the NFL."
@razorbacker63 The clock only needs to hit .01 by the time the ball hits OB... after it hit's .01 it;s below 1 second and counting to -o-..... So the added 1 second to the clock was a GIFT.
swissarmytenor no they got it wrong, by rule, the clock does not stop till the ball hits the ground, even if it goes out of bounds. And in this case the ball hits the ground, and the clock shows 0:00. Nebraska should of been the winners. I’m not saying just because I’m a Husker fan but also the fact that I’ve read the rules to become an official
I heard he's backing up Colin Kapernick (2 years younger) in Frisco. Last time I checked, Suh is one of the most dominating defensive tackles since his rookie year.
The only thing about getting an Heisman i dont like is the fact he gets penalized because he and his team wasnt able to work together well enough to have a good performance. While the defense did a great job his offensive line didnt but then a again you had Suh on the line.
I haven't thought of it that way. There is no denying that from me. All I know is that everyone from outside the SEC says that they are the best, but look at the schedules, postseason schedules, and championships that back the SEC. Hell, Notre Dame was hyped up so much this passed year that many people got butt hurt when Alabama took the championship. Georgia would have beat Notre Dame if they would have won the SEC championship. THE SEC CHAMPIONSHIP HAS BEEN THE NAT. CHAMPIONSHIP FOR YEARS.
It was texas running the clock, big texas cheating conference, what is your conference doing now.Oh,you havent beat OKLAHOMA since.See what paying refs gets you.Go Big Red
Oh yes, it was also the reason why Suh went in first round, 2nd pick, (NFL draft) and Colt McCoy waited till third round (85th pick) despite being runner-up in the Heisman. Jimmy Claussen was picked before him (the next quarterback after Sam Bradford [#1 draft pick]) at the 48th pick.
Texas was so lucky on that last play, if he'd release that ball half a degree further to his left the ball misses the railing and that extra time the ball takes to reach the ground lets the clock run out and Nebraska wins the game.
I'm a lifelong Nebraskan and Husker fan and think that Texas ruined the Big 12 as well, but the last incomplete pass was called properly. This video should have been called "How to Win a Heisman in Ten Plays" because if there ever was another year in which a defensive player should have won it (Charles Woodson in 1997 being the first, of course), it was 2009.
Florida lost to Louisville (lost twice without playing one ranked team and lost to UConn at home), was in real danger of losing to Louisiana-Lafayette at home and in November. LSU lost their bowl game as well to Clemson. Clemson's biggest win going into that bowl game was against either a 9 win team from the MAC or one of the 6 win ACC teams they beat. SEC is not as tough as you think top to bottom, they miss 5 SEC teams, they play the most FCS schools, and the least BCS conference schools.
I'll say this now just to get this off, but Nebraska's defense ruined Colt McCoy's life this game. Made it hell. Granted, there was a one second debacle, but if Nebraska had any offensive production that game, we'd all be talking about a much different story. Nebraska's defense carried them that far, but they couldn't pull off the win. That's why it's a team sport. Not a Suh sport.
That's cute. Oregon played ONLY Oregon St. after their loss. Alabama played Auburn who, granted was terrible, isn't terrible. AND after that Alabama had to survive the SEC championship against a very strong Georgia team with a ton of Pro talent. Not to mention A&M was led by the Heisman winner.
So what your saying is, to be a strong conference you have to beat each other? I'm sorry if I feel like beating the other conferences is more impressive than beating your own. Hence why 7 straight Nat'l Championships is more impressive than playing against our own conference. And each record you showed proves exactly how even the top teams in the SEC are.
There was obviously 1 second left. If the timekeepers can't do their job they need to get new ones. Texas beat Nebraska fair and square and then the next year sent them packing out of the conference with a loss. Nebraska... You have been weighed, you have been measured, and you have been found wanting. Go Longhorns! =)
There was 1 second left but the way the refs initially called it should have been the end of the game they shouldn't have gone back and put the second back on.
Yeah lets see how the Pac 12 and Big 12 do playing 5-6 more bowls against the SEC. The Bowl Matchup Schedule will expire soon. Thank God. The Big 10 has had Tie Ins with the SEC for a long time. The other Conferences only play a few Bowls against the SEC. Im sick of the Big 10 taking flack for Losing Bowl Record when they 80% of their Bowls against the SEC.
I find the repeat chick funny cause those who actually watched it knew the 'nail biting' ending it had. It was an amazing game. Yes, Texas won because they got one second put back on the clock. Yes, it was in Texas. This is the reason why Colt McCoy did not get the Heisman. His total annihilation from Suh & the Nebraska defense ensured that it was the memory that the Heisman voters had before voting. (Big 12 game happens first week of December, voting happens shortly after that)
And this guy made the upset win for the Redskins (2-5) against Dallas (6-1) in Dallas in OT 20-17 on Monday Night Football... I guess the Heisman doesn't say it all...
i was at the big 12 championship game in 2009 and 2010. ive been to plenty of husker games and none of the fans are more obnoxious than texas fans. some of the comments in this video are proof. texas fans talking about lack of education in nebraska even though nebraska has a nation leading 299 academic all americans. what has texas done the last 2 seasons? thats right they've lost 12 of there 25 games. nebraska also has more national championships, more heismens, and more confrence championships
hahahaha, although I agree with you on the offensive line (texas o line was atrocious, thats why their running stats were just piss poor) The whole thing about throwing the ball in 2 seconds is bullshit. That is exactly what seperates good quarterbacks from bad ones. And even though colt had all of these troubles,he didnt keep his head. I mean just look at the last play, I still dont know what he was thinking risking it that much.Colt lost the heisman because of this game and his poor decisions
I have never been a guy to blame refs for bad calls because usually they all even out in a game but NU got royaly fucked in this game. The game was over until the officials got a call from the booth. That rule they used to give Texas 1 more play had never been enforced before this game and hasn't been since. The Big 12 committee people wanted Texas in the National Championship and they weren't going to allow a #22 Nebraska to fuck that up. This game was the last straw for Nebraska in regards to this confrerence. TO had had enough and was determined not to be in a Texas ran conference and the Big 12 is still feeling the effects of Nebraska's departure. Best move NU made was joining the Big 10.
What does yall mean? :). But really, as a Nebraska fan, yup. We lost. We should have clowned you if we wanted the satisfaction, but we didn't. In all fairness, Big 12 refs are Texas refs, but at the same time they don't score TDs or make big tackles.
This is possibly the only football game I ever watched where I was more nervous when Nebraska's Offense was on the field because I felt Texas had a better chance of scoring on defense then they did on Offense
Line played bad vs the most dominating defensive lineman in the country. Pass deflected causing a pick and a pass getting ripped out the guys hands causing a pick. only 1 pick was his fault.
ihatetumblr Maybe he just isn't good against real competition. How long did he last against Bama? 5 plays? Beating up on those shitty 2000's era Big 12 teams is fun until you find yourself facing another "dominating defensive line".
The line is doing their job the QB for 1. takes to long to throw most of those plays are 3 step drop then throw. 2. Do you realize how hard it is to play offensive line its not stand there and be a meat shield. Its a bunch of quick reactions you have to made from the defensive line coming at you. So before you can blame the O Line how bout you understand the shit we have to do
The line was doing their job. The QB should not sit their and hold the ball, even if he is being rushed just throw it away (obviously not intentional ground it) There are just some plays to where they send to many guys that the line cant handle. We call those the oh shit blocks for a reason.
I agree. Even as a Texas fan, watching this game showed me how much Suh deserved the Heisman; the man is a monster. Too bad the Heisman trophy is biased towards offensive players.
@@The-fs5wn Hey Suh hasn't had an incident for a few years now, the man has reformed he deserves credit for that. I prefer to now think of him as a pivotal part of a super bowl winning team.
James Gray again i say this to the people who don't understand football...... His o-line is good...... He held on to the ball to long. The offensive line is not just going to stand there they have to move and react to the defense. Its suppost to be 2-3 seconds in the back field before a QB releases the ball.
This happened when I was on my first deployment to Afghanistan. I was born in Hawaii, which is not a huge college football state, so it took me a little bit to understand the diehard texas and nebraska college football fans. Guys had their flags, shirts, memorabilia hung up all over our COP, it was nuts lol. A majority of our rank were diehard college footbal fans including our commander (who graduated from UT). There were tons of shit talking leading up and after this game. It wasn't ever let go how Mccoy fucked shit up lol. I went from not nowing much about college football into a freak fan that follows to this date all because of this game.
This game absolutely should have won the Heisman for Suh. I have never seen one defensive player totally control a game like he did here.

So before you can blame the O Line how bout you understand the shit we have to do
SBSGFX I understand it's hard to play offensive line, but it looks like the rest of the NFL and NCAA were doing a fine job.
Crick n Suh dominated this game.. its amazing how productive they were while commanding double and triple teams
And now Suh is well known for all the wrong reasons
@@The-fs5wn that’s funny we say that about your dear old mom too!
@@The-fs5wn Hey Suh hasn't had an incident for a few years now, the man has reformed he deserves credit for that. I prefer to now think of him as a pivotal part of a super bowl winning team.
ndamukong suh was whooping ass all game
Yet Texas still went to the National Championship...
And won?
Actually I don't think they did
+Rowen Mayo They lost to Alabama.
Since when do you lose a heisman when your O-line can't block? 8+ sacks?
Since my dick turned green
James Gray again i say this to the people who don't understand football......
His o-line is good...... He held on to the ball to long. The offensive line is not just going to stand there they have to move and react to the defense. Its suppost to be 2-3 seconds in the back field before a QB releases the ball.
Was that your first time seeing that kind of thing?
