Epic fishing trip up at Cape Karikari - a crazy hot snapper bite as well as schools of trevally and kahawai, Dolphins, whales flying fish and sun fish also encountered. Awesome day up in the Far North, and it was just day one of our trip.

DRONE FISHING ACTION - WEST COAST NZ. Headed out to the West Coast to experiment with a new drone called the Splash drone. The drone is waterproof and able to drag a long line and hooks out into the surf. Beautiful day and amazing part of New Zealand.

Yeah, it was the footage from the camera, I thought I had unloaded the data from all 5 cameras but missed the one I use on my head.
Hi Scott, thank you for the wonderful content. Just out of curiosity, how does the drone land on your boat? Do you have any tricks or just let it land on your hand? I assume you got one of the DJI one. Thank you.
Yeah great question - I hand catch the drone, that's why I only fly when the weather is very calm. I have a Phantom 3. I have a mavic too but hand catching is a lot tricker because it doesn't have an undercarriage/leg section. Have only hand caught it once and it was a bit dicey.

Hi Scott, looking to buy an inflatable/RIB sort of boat to do some inshore fishing with my partner. Any tips on this topic as a first boat? Does the size matters? Cheers
You can sometimes pick up the surf life rescue IRBs for a good price, the flat bottoms are ok, RIBs are better eg aluminium hull 3.5-4M is a decent size for 2.
