In this tutorial I am demonstrating a spiral straight pour on a 14 inch canvas. Going for the boulder cells and hoping for a glowing effect. The paints I used were Decoart Americana Metallics in Obsidian and Amethyst, Liquitex Basics Phthalo Blue Quinacridone Magenta, Folk Art Treasure Gold in Purple Topaz. The DecoArt paints are great for creating cells without silicone.

Wow, the difference between post-spin and then the final - the obsidian looked like it was taking over, and then it's all faded to the background, making lacing, because the Treasure Gold ended up taking over; and the magenta, wow, it is like glowing between the cracks, no worries about it being too bright, because there is so little of it showing, it just glows.
Your talk of "troubleshooting before there's trouble" reminds me of the saying "If you don't have time to do it properly, you don't have time to do it over."

I love how you explain everything to us. As for NETFLIX, I don't even watch them and find their actions to be tacky! Bless your heart. Thank you for your teachings. You are so uber talented and your voice when you sing, is smooth and silky

Your video #16 was my project for over a year. I did create really cool paintings but never what you did. Now I'm going to try my hand at one of these. You are one of my very favorite artists. Been watching you for years. I'm trying to get out of my almost 2 year slump. Raising a new dog has really changed my freedom to paint, but he is worth it. I love this technique. You are so talented Gina and you explain things in detail that are helpful. Love the contrasts in this one. That bright magenta is bright against the other paints and makes it glow! I cancelled netflix long ago.
I have a question...what about mixing paint with matte medium? Would that work?

I've been attempting pours inspired by these spiral pours, and I just can't get it right. I have been struggling with paint consistency, but I think I am getting closer. I seem to have to do multiple drip tests to ensure more even consistency across my colors, which did help with the last few I did. I love the colors you chose for this painting, too!
What "#" on your "1-5 thickness scale" would you say your paints were in this one, or on average?
Also, I am a proud owner of your card set.👍

Just wanted to ask about the cell former, because you don't seem to mention the cell former you use and how much of it you use, and if you put it in all the colors including in the color you use for the base, or just in the Metalic colors.
