The reason why your Villagers are not breeding in Minecraft

- In this short, I explain three main ways to improve your villager breeding, these are all reasons that helped me out during my Superflat Survival world.

IF THIS IS NOT WORKING FOR YOU, STOP HERE
This is a one-stop shop for villager breeding issues for anyone stuck. Breeding mechanics are complex.
Common scenario 1: Villagers not making hearts
Reason: You must meet the conditions for Love Mode:
1. Both villagers need a “portion” of food. For carrots, 12 is a portion. If one doesn’t have enough, they will share. But it’s entirely possible they aren’t picking up enough food through the day. Consider making sure they have enough farm space to pick 12 carrots each or toss them carrots if you don’t care about making it automatic. AS A NOTE, they must be able to collect carrots so disabling mod griefing will prevent breeding
2. It needs to be between 3pm-5pm to breed. If they miss that window because they don’t have food, they won’t breed until the next day. This is the time villagers gather around and can only breed during gathering time. This is also when they share food. AS A NOTE, freezing the daylight cycle outside those hours or skipping over those hours will make them miss this cycle. Also, even if you keep it at this time or switch it to this time, they have a 5 min cooldown on breeding.
Common scenario 2: Breeding starts, but you get angry particles
Reason: This only happens when the breeding villagers detect no available beds.
Now, beds are claimed by villagers based on being able to pathfind to them. Falling into the hole should break the path and they should lose the claim to the bed.
HOWEVER, there’s an undocumented way that the AI removes this claim that I rarely ever seen people mention: The villager must attempt to sleep and fail to find the bed. Once it gets to 6pm, the villagers will try to sleep. Here’s the problem on top of that, it will keep trying for around what I would say is 30 seconds (untested time) before it drops the claim. So, if you sleep right away to pass the night, the villager’s bed claim will remain as it will not update again until the next night. If you also do not have the daylight cycle frozen to not be night or skip the night using commands, it will not break the claim.
As a note for this, sleeping in a bed instantly breaks villager claims and so does breaking the bed. In case you wanna fix this without having it be night.
That’s all it takes. It’s very easy to have special game rules or be sleeping too quickly in the night to mess up the farm. Check your gamerules, stay up afk to make some villagers.

P.S. if you’re having any issues, I’ll update this to contain your issues. But if you build is EXACTLY as designed with zero changes, this should be enough.

@@EchoEld Haha I’m a big fan of leaving what I know in some breeder designs I find as mine used to always break or never work for mysterious reasons. Villager mechanics can be a pain to debug. However, ever since I found the Carpet mod to help me troubleshoot, I share what I’ve learned from testing mine because I know that struggle. Love the design!
@@eispog 5 min CD but mind you they only do it between the hours of 3pm-5pm. So, the reality is it will be once a day as long as other conditions met. Superflat world generation has no effect. If you froze the daylight cycle, you could get them to breed every 5 mins but they wouldn’t be working to collect enough food and the baby would not lose its bed. You’d have to provide food and replace the beds every time.

Took me a few hours i originally thought you cant breed the villager that you cured so i spend hours and hours to find and transport a villager from a village, but thanks to this video i checked and mob griefing was the issue

I play on an smp, and we weren’t able to breed villagers(my teammate and I)

Simply just build a big farm in a fenced area around the villager hub. Never have to worry about food only beds and expansion if needed.

I made sure there's enough beds gave all of them stacks of carrots but they don't breed
the villagers that should breed also need 3 blocks of free space. So if you are building a solid block directly above their head. They won't breed, just let one space free and build then your ceiling. This was my problem.

I turn mod griefing off as soon as my builds start looking pretty or when I have a cat. Creepers make my soul hurt w/ their bs.

My villagers in breeding hall i have 27 beds and i have 20 villagers there some villagers are not breeding and sleeping
I got biome problem I made my base on stony peaks biome or whatever it is called because of that biome they were not breeding but once I transported them to plains biome they start breeding(・∀・)

Yes, but by default mob griefing is enabled which means if you switch back from it being disabled your achievements have already been turned off

For a villager to breed there needs to be at least one free bed for the baby villager. So if you don't have more beds than villagers they will NOT breed

my breeding station was too close to the trading hall and iron farm!! They had considered the village ‘populated’ … im on bedrock after all, theres a cap apparently! But great video!
