    I am using this card for 10 years. This year I overclocked it 100+ on core clock and 100+ on memory that gave me 5 - 10 fps boost, in some games even more. Even without the overclock i was able to get an average 55 - 60 fps on Overwatch with 1080p medium ( with render scale 80%).
    My build:
    CPU: i3 - 9100f 4c/4t
    GPU: gts 450 1gb gddr5
    RAM: 16gb 2666hz hyperx
    Mobo: gigabyte b365m - h
    In your build the card is only using about 40% of its power ( in Overwatch specifically ). The CPU and RAM are clearly limiting the card.
    Edit: I forgot to tell you that in Genshin Impact I am getting rock solid 60 fps with 1080p low - mid settings.

      Nice. yep the core 2 duo is definitely holding the card back. The 9100f would defiantly be able to help the card reach it's max potential.
      Genshin Impact really needs more than 2 threads, its just not enough. Even with four It probably still needs better performance from the cores.
      Thanks for watching.

      @@OFFbitTech Yeah my card went through a ton of gaming and regular usage. This year i was thinking of changing it with 1650 super, but with the out of stock situation i am stuck with it. Maybe in a couple of months i will be able to buy new card.
      To be honest i don't want to change my gts 450 because i am emotionally connected to it, but unfortunately the card is showing its age.

      @@djnyxa it's a tough break with the video card market at the moment.

      The capture card we use for our videos is the Avermedia Live Gamer HD Lite.
      It's a cheap PCIe capture card we use in a different PC to record our Videos when we are getting in game or desktop recording from our subject pc.
      The card is bit tricky to get working at times in windows 10 but with the drivers installed from Avermedia website we generally have little issues.

    Is this gpu good for games up to the year of 2013? I want to play Borderlands 2 and Far Cry 3. My gpu is now GT 620 1gb that struggles playing games from 2005. My PSU is Seasonic S12II 450w (around 3 years old but I didn't use it for almost 2 years). GTS 450 is around $30 here, not a bad deal.

      The CPU should be able to play 2013 games, but if you could go up to the e8400 it would do better with games Like borderlands 2.
      A better GPU would probably help out a great deal
      The 450 does look like it is a lot better for gaming as shown on UserBenchmark (link below),
      that might be a good start. I am not sure if Farcy 3 would benefit from a QuadCore CPU or not, but you might want to look into a core 2 quad CPU.

I get stable fps around 40-60fps on Fallout 3 GoTY on 720p medium setting. I don't want to upgrade the cpu because the system is too old I think. Is the gts 450 power hungry?

    • @OFFbitTech
      @OFFbitTech  3 роки тому

      The card is does not consume a lot of power compared to some of the higher end cards that are available.
      The GTS450 according to Wikipedia has a TDP(thermal design power) of 106 watts. Most motherboard will provide up to 75 watts from their PCI Express slot. So this card will always have an extra power cable help supply enough power to get the 106 watts.
      In short, the card really does not use a lot of power, but it does use more than a what the motherboard can supply. I would expect that a system using a GTS450 would need to be using a 400 - 450 watt power supply at minimum.
      We hope that helps with your question.

      The 560 is a lot faster in performance.
      Both cards are Fermi based cards, but the 500 series has a design refresh.
      The draw backs of the GTX 560 is that it can chew up to 150watts of Power apposed the GTS 450 with a TDP of 106W.

    • @OFFbitTech
      @OFFbitTech  3 роки тому

      If the CPU is maxed out it will be bottle necking the rest of the system. So, GPU usage may actually still have more head room for more work but cant quite utilize it due to the CPU being too busy.
      So you could potentially get more FPS if the CPU utilization was not maxed out.
      If both GPU and CPU where maxed out then I think you could say,
      There will not be to many extra FPS you can get out of the current hardware set up.
      Hope that helps.

      I'm not 100% of the answer but I am thinking maybe, if the graphics settings you are running is just not enough work for the GPU to do. Leaving extra head room (showing 50 - 60% leaving 40 - 50% unused).
      But turning up the graphics settings will probably send the CPU up closer or to 100% usage and if those odd 100% CPU spikes you may already get from time to time will become more frequent and happen much longer.

    Whats the cheapest cpu for this gpu so it wont bottleneck?

    • @OFFbitTech
      @OFFbitTech  3 роки тому

      I don't know if i have definitive answer, but I do fee that the GTS 450 would do better with a core 2 quad system at least or even an i3.
      Bottlenecks are hard to define with hardware and applications, since Each game is programed differently some use more GPU than other games the other more CPU. Also on top of that there are other factors where AMD CPU performs tasks better than Intel's and vice versa and Finally even updates play a vital role as well.
      But yes there will be a bottleneck but that point does move around a lot for the above reasons.

      Don't feel bad. Nothing wrong In trying to record no matter what system you are running.

      It's a hard thing working with older hardware but it has for me helped me optimise any pc system to get the max out of them. I have a learnt so much more about pc hardware and the windows operating system.
      The q6600 should help out. But I'm not sure if it will get you across the line. Recording at lower resolutions may be the key. Which I'm sure you have already looked at.
      You could also look into getting an external recorder if you are recording games or stuff off your pc.
      Here at the offbit we use another pc with a capture card. It takes the load of the pc we are looking at as well as a clean recording.
