Would I be right in thinking that you could potentially use this to make things like tails, tentacles, streamers, ribbons, etc. as well? I can't seem to master making and posing curves in a timely manner, so anything to help speed up that process is very much appreciated.
That's exactly right! You can definitely use it for clothing parts or animal tails and tentacles. Keep in mind, the add-on will also work when applied to non-hair curves - bezier, paths, etc. While you can't sculpt those, the Dynamics effects will work just fine.
Thanks for the update! I've been using the material from your older video with the new "hair attributes" nodegroup for a while with great results but I'm nonetheless looking forward to the new materials video!
Hi, if I understand correctly, you ask how I move Suzanne in the demo and have the hair react. I just play the animation and move and rotate the monkey manually, with G and R.
@@denoa3D Thanks for commenting! I've always wondered why I can't do the same thing. The cause was that I had changed the keymap using another add-on...It was elementary. Thank you for your help, I will continue to support you!
Is there a way to suggest features? A couple things that would be great is to add Y/Z-Mirror because sometimes in development we face Z-Up etc. In addition is would be awesome if there was an option to "pin" the tips. Amazing tool
Absolutely, you can suggest in a comment or send me an email. I will definitely do all axis mirroring in the next update, I see other people wanting that. As for the pinning, I'm not sure what you meant. Is it them not moving when there is animation?
Awesome and yeah sort of but not only for animations, like when you're combing or performing any operations the tip doesn't move like the root. @@denoa3D
Hi, this add on was so helpful! I just have one question. I’m trying to combine the hair base mesh to my rig/character model so when I animate my character I want the hair to animate with the rig. How can I parent the hair with dynamics to my character? I tried parenting to the rig and model but it still stays in the same place. Can you help me out or make a video? Thank you in advance.
Hi, You should have your hair curves generated on a base mesh. That way they will be parented to and move with it. Then you simply parent that base mesh to your armature - either rig it, or straight up parent it to the head bone in your armature. Now the hair will move with your character.
@@denoa3D Hey, thank you so much for the reply! I got it to work! I love this add-on and probably will never go back to hair curves. You are the best and keep it up 🔥
This addon is insane, you've put together whats taken me years to try figure out! I have a question, how do you access the pie menu? When I press D as in your screencast keys, nothing shows up. Thank you!!
There's a button named 'SHP Quick Menu' in the modifier panel. Right click on it and you can assign a custom shortcut. I just have set mine too D. It is not the default, you can set any key combination you want.
Hi Dean,I found this issue that I used this hair on a rigged model, when I rotate the head, the hair cross-section will rotate too,if the hair used a line profile, you will see the hair rotate like filped.and the addon works well on not bone rigged modle .could you please help me fix this?
Hi. That usually happens when the root of the hair changes its relative angle with the base, so the curve normal gets recalculated each time the hair moves, getting all wonky. I've accounted for that in latter versions, so make sure you use the latest version of the addon and rig the base mesh to a Bone, not with Armature Deform. Also, one thing might help is to increase the Effect Factor slider a bit higher, so it ignores the hair root. I can't really recreate that issue, so if these things don't help, send me an email with some more info so I can look into it.
Hey, if you use normal curve objects, you can combine them with Ctrl J. If you use hair curves, sadly I think there is no option in Blender to combine two into one object. Separating them is possible, but a bit of a hack. You have to duplicate the whole hair curves object, then in Edit Mode delete the curves you don't want, also delete the curves left from the original object. Just be aware, that if the curves are one object, they will all have the same settings from the SHP modifier.
Still the best thing I ever bought for blender, and it just keeps getting better!
hi sir when i click on add stylized hair and then switch to object mode it disappears automatically there is no hair mesh plz help me

Thanks for the Update! Great work!
This is mastery at work! Absolutely incredible stuff.
Make a hair from scratch using the addon. I want to see the full workflow.
I'll definitely do that!
Totally insane ! thx you 💥💯
I'm experimenting with dynamics using your tools.
Suzanne in the tutorial seems to be moving interactively within the viewport, but how is that done?

is there a way to combine and separate some hair curves from different hair strands objects?

A problem I don't know if everyone faces, and it is per minute 1:06 When pressed addstylized hair pro setup The line disappears Please help us
This is most likely caused if you use Blender 4.0. It should work for Blender 4.1
@@denoa3D Thanks
I Can't buy it :( i use visa, jcb
Can't wait for the materials video Also for the armature thingy could you add an option to generate bendy bone handles?
That would be a great feature! I'll make sure to try to implement that!
