I literally watch retie videos to get through the process of doing my own. TY 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
😄 You're so welcome Queen! 😊
Me too!!!
Me too!! 😊
I start watching retie videos to get myself Motivated to get started on my head lol
Thats what I'm doing too 😅
I just did my first self retie it took a while but I’m sure I’ll speed up the process as I go. I loved the ends results! (Tip: if you have 2 devices use a ring light, with a phone holder and FaceTime/Video call yourself with your back camera (on your phone it can zoom in with the best quality) it gave me a great view of my head all around on my iPad without neck strain. (You can change your FaceTime address settings to your email on the view device, & keep the phone set to the phone number to do this for apple devices) I kept a hand drawn compass & directions to keep me oriented. :)
You inspired me on doing my own retie and using clips, comb, & water to keep my parts straight. Thank you! 😊
Thanks for this. 8 will use as a ref point even though I'm not that tech savvy! 😂😂😂 Will get one of my daughters to help!
When i saw her set up in the intro JUST for a retie, I nearly kissed the ground for deciding to go with traditional locs instead where i can be half asleep and RETWIST (PALM ROLL) with no mirrors whatsoever. I can even sit in my car and retwist while listening to music with ease. Chyeee.... sisterlocks & microlocs are WORK! Hats off to you sistas with both!
😆 🤣 😂 It's a true process! That's FACTS!
not me sitting here retightening my locs while watching you retie your locs and we got the same glasses on 🤣
😆 are you serious... you have great taste as well I see! 😉
Thank you for this video. I'm 4 years loc'd and retightening this weekend for the first time. I did the front yesterday (6 hours) and will do the back today. I looked for videos on using mirrors to see the back and love your tall Walmart mirror suggestion. I will try that first. I appreciate you for providing the full 'while you work on the back' view as well.
Finally a video that I can copy. You took your time showing us exactly how it should be done. I was reluctant about doing my own bc my loctition uses lamps and be having my grid like it's brand new. I'm confident that I can do this! Thank you again. God bless
Thanks for the video, after dealing with loc consultants flaking out one me, I decided to retire my own hair, this video helped a great deal 👍
Thank you and I'm glad it helped! 😊
No ma'am! I am not ever trying to self retie...you are the real MVP 🤣🤣
You are a real one! Your hair is beautiful and the work paid off. Thanks for sharing your journey.
I absolutely love how you really spent time to show your views step by step. Thank you so much. Now I be comfortable in retiring my hair.
NOW, I see the importance of grid...THE RETIE!! Great work!! Thank you!!
It does help a lot in keeping me sectioned and organized but I honestly never fully understood the importance of a grid I just really like my parts and lines to look neat and straight.
You did an excellent job of retightening your loc’s!
Thank you for the inspiration!🎉
This is so satisfying. I love close up demos if interlocking.
Beautiful! I’m 9 months on my sisterlocks journey. I’ll give myself another year (2yr. anniversary) to self-retie. Your video is most definitely inspirational. Thank you for sharing.
Congrats!, even though you made this comment 2 months, ago on your 9 months and thank you so much! I'm so glad it is helpful
I got a few recommendations to check out this video. I really wish I would’ve watched yours before doing mines for the first time. You did a great job! Its so neat. Thanks for sharing girl ✨🤍
Ahh! 😊 thank you so much! ❤️ 🙏🏿
Great Job! 💰 Money, gas and time saved as well.
You Go!😉
I love your videos CeCe! I watch them when I’m doing my hair and play your sister locks playlist 😊😊😊
🥰 OH MY GOSH! Thank you so much! ❤️ This melts my heart! I truly appreciate you Queen!
You did a great job. Your locs are beautiful! I need to be this patient when doing mine. Woosah 💞🙏🏾🤗
I give myself time and I am patient. I want to enjoy the process, so I put no time limit on it, just retie until I'm tired or no longer enjoying it.
I'm 3 years locked and took over my own retie's about a year ago. I use a mirroring app with my cell phone on a tripod and laptop connected and it makes doing the back of your head so easy! I got the idea from this video "5 USEFUL HACKS FOR SELF RETIES | HOW TO SELF RETIGHTEN MICROLOCS | TWO POINT ROTATION | FIRST RETIE".
Did your consultant start you on a two-point rotation? I ask only because I had a consultant tell me "there is no such thing as a two point rotation in sister locks" 😑 regardless, I began doing a two point rotation when I started self maintaining because it is simple and convenient and I feel my results are the same.
No, I was started on a 4 point rotation, I started a 2 point rotation when I took over my reties, but now I retire in a 4 point rotation.
Thank you for this video! I have been trying to find and in depth video and yours is the first one I have come across that isn’t leaving me guessing! I love your hair
I have been undecided for so Long but this made me confirm sisterlocs it is 🥰
We have the same Hair.
Love your music selection too!
This has been very helpful!! Can we talk about your frames tho???????? Love the glasses
I have the same set up for doing my reties, except I have a standing adjustable mirror that I purchased from Amazon.
Do you have the link for the mirror?
This is helpful. I’m going to retie my daughter’s locs this weekend. She’s gone to a consultant, but since we’ve moved we haven’t had luck finding someone new.
Thanks! I'm so glad it was helpful! 👏🏿
Hello Cece, this video is great. I am retightening one of my clients locs. This was my first time doing starter locs and I am helping her maintain them. I just wanted to say, you have played half of my playlist. 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
Glad it was helpful! We have Good music vibes! 🎶 😁
What made you choose a 2pt rather than a 3 or 4 pt? I’m just wondering because I’m about to do my first retie and I want to do 2pt as it seems easier and faster
Great video. Loved the music. Thanks for sharing.😊🎉
Thank you for the detailed video. Very helpful. I will do my first self retighten this week and this video will help me along. Appreciate it 😊
I love your loc videos! Your videos inspired me and now I've been locked for a year!
That's awesome! So glad it inspired you! 🥰 makes me happy and feel purposeful!
Hello, I love your videos from the beginning of your loc journey up until now. I started my own and I do my reties. Thank for mentioning the fact that we will sometimes tie in with another loc, I've done that and reached for the scissors 🤣 now I know to just keep it moving. How often do you retie, I'm at every 8 weeks right now. You did an awesome job, keep up the great work 💞
Oh no! No scissors! I retie every 6 to 8weeks.
Thank you 🙏🏿 😊 💓
Hi Cece, so I self started my microlocs Feb 2022 with braids. Then I went on to do my own retightening. It took me an entire week so I said never again lol I think mainly because I have 3 kids and they kept me busy during that time. But you make it look so seamless and make me want to give it another shot at self-maintaining. From the looks of it, you're doing the 2pt rotation right?
Looks like she’s doing the 4 point rotation
Definitely a 2pt rotation
Hi, loving this video, excellent job.👍
Love this video!!! Question: where'd you purchase the smaller tool that you used in the nape of your hair?
Here's whet I got the tiny Tool:
www.nappynhappy.com/products/nappy-locs-tool
Awesome job! I'm 1.5 years in, NOT brave. Enough to self retire. At least not yet.
Your locs are gorge! I do my own retis too. Thank you for the video. ❤
Thank you! 🥰 and you're so welcome! 🙏🏿
Can you tell me what type of instruments she is using. So I can I get it at the 🏥 at store. Hair. Replying to yours because it's most recent
@@CimplyCeCe what tool did you use so I can get from store wait I see why you used the different on st the top snd the smaller one at your neck
Your lock tool came from Amazon? Great work with your retie.
OMG u make it look so easy. So gripe is how do you know which direction to go in if you were getting your reties professionally done
I don't, I just keep up the same rotation now. After I retired it the first time I went back to my consultant to have her take a look at it as well.
Thank you for sharing!!
Well done
Please how many locs you do have
Thank you! 397ish sisterlocks
Great job! Beautiful
Really nice, great job 👏
Thank you very much!😁
Always appreciate your videos.
Thanks so much Tia!❤️🥰
Good tip about catching..
Thanks!
New subscriber! You mentioned friz free, what do you do too keep the shaft of your hair friz free? Thanks for showing us your process and setup.
First off, thank you for Subscribing! ❤️ Fun fact, I actually did nothing special to my shaft to take the frizz. I actually miss my shaft being a little Frizzy. I've colored my sisterlocks 3xs and I think that eliminated the frizz.
How are your mirrors set up? I do have the triple fold mirror but don’t know how to set it up to see what I am doing. Loved watching how you do it.
Great
Thank you SO MUCH for this video
Yes ma’am! 🤎
You did a good job by yourself
TFS You did an awesome job. Are you doing a 2 or 4 point rotation
Thank you! In this video I was doing a"2 point" rotation. However, now I'm on a "4 point" rotation!
I'm currently editing the video showing how I do the "4 point rotation"!
This is great I’m trying to learn to do mine. Do you have the video in low-mo so I can see the exact retie process please and thank you
Not yet! But I'll be filming a hairline touch up and I'll slow it down and get up close, ya girl just learned how to zoom in while editing. So if you haven't found a good video already, I have one coming for you!
You did a great job 👏🏾…I would definitely pay you to retie mine, are you going to be a consultant right? Your hair is beautiful. Well done. Thank you for sharing💕
I've thought about becoming one. Thank you! 💕
@@CimplyCeCe You should you have skills and your neatness and precision is on point❤
Amazing Queen,job Well done
THANK YOU! 💕 😊 🙏🏿
Great job 👏🏾
When do you spray and oil your locs during the process-before, after, or during?
I spray my Locs with the moisture mist from sisterlocks or water or both during the retie process. I'll oil my Locs a day to a week later not right after or during so nothing loosens.
@@CimplyCeCe Thank you 😊
Your hair look great !! Where did you buy your lock tool ??
Thank you, I linked it in the description. It's from Amazon. Here's the link as well, 4 Pieces Sisterlock Retighten Tool, Dreadlock Tool for Hair, Dreadlock Crochet Needle, Loc Needle for Dreads, Dread Crochet Needle for Hair Extensions Styling Tools Loc Maintenance (Gold, Silver) a.co/d/5qawx5o
@@CimplyCeCe Thank you !!
How often do you self retighten your locks? Do you still use your consultant as well?
Every 6 to 8 weeks. I don't use my consultant but I stay in contact with her and she's look at my hair after I've self-retied it. If I notice anything in to call her.
Girl you are doing great,I like your hair..please what mirror are you using because I can see that you are able to see the back of your head.thanks
Your hair is beautiful ❤ okay can you just tell us exactly HOW LONG it took please ?
It takes me about 7hrs!
This is gorgeous ❤
You did great!! I don’t have the patience or skill to self retie! 😩😩😩
Thank you! 😁 I actually enjoy it when it's time but I am glad it's only every 6 weeks!
@@CimplyCeCe keep it up! Hair is coming along beautifully!!
go sister!!
Sweeeeet. Am I correct, you only did two directions Left down Left Down for one rotation?
Hey ok, so this is an old video so yes, in this video I did 2pt rotation which is left and down. I am currently and permanently on a 4pt rotation. West, North, East, and South. This is the rotation I was started on.
What tool are you using? This will be my first time I'm doing my own retightening 😊.
Thanks for the video, how long does it take you?
Welcome! 7hrs😁
Can you do a video with it not speeded up, that way we can see the process. Thanks
Question: when you “end” the retie at top/bottom…north to south, I know that lays the lox flat, but does that cause the “holes” people talk about?🤔
I honestly don't know. For me, I haven't experienced any holes. I'm new to this so don't quote me. ☺️
I do remember my consultant saying holes come from doing one rotation, (ex. Up down, up down) I do right, left, up, down or east to west, then north to south. Hope this makes sense ☺️
You sId you brought your mirror at Walmart, thinks this will help me a lot. You divided your her in how ma sections?
Yes the tall one came fun Walmart, it's an over the door mirror.
I’m terrible at my re ties, I’m always tying two together 😭😩
Oh no, I did it before. I found making sure I could see clearly has helped me a lot. I made some knots I ain't proud of by going too fast though.
Hey lady just watched the video thank you for that I noticed you used 2 needles and you did 12oclock and 3oclock rotations how far along are you on your sisterloc journey I am a month 1/2 will it be ok if I did do my retigh myself?
I'm a little over 2 years Sisterlocked. I didn't do my first retie until I was about a year and a half. I would suggest you talk to your consultant about self retie. I did. Just to be safe and secure your investment. Hope this helps! 😊
@@CimplyCeCe thanks for your quick response yeah that's what I will do cause you know it's costs a lot to go to the shop! 😆
Yes it does! And no problem. 😊
very cute 😍
How long did this take? Sorry if you said this. I missed it.
About 7 hours.
@@CimplyCeCe Thank u very much! 😍
Gorgeous,Do you start in the same rotation every time you retie?
For the most part yes. I try to.
Nice video but what's up? Your 2 year locaversary are going to post a video?
Thanks! I've been thinking about it, trying to decide how I want to do it. I'll figure something out soon enough. 🤞🏿
@@CimplyCeCe Thanks because I have followed your journey from the very beginning and I am so proud and amazed of how your hair has grown. I love my sister locks just like I know you love yours
Thanks so much! I truly appreciate the support, and your time! 💕
Have you went to the sisterloc class ?
No, I haven't.
Good Job 👍
THANK YOU! 💕 😊 🙏🏿
What r u spray on your hair?
Sisterlocks Herbal Moisturizer purchased from my consultant and Uncle Funky's Daughter Defunk Odor Neutralizing Tonic (linked in the description now 😀 😄 I forgot to do it.
👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👍🏾
Hi is this done on dry or washed hair
Dry hair but I do mist it with water during the retie.
How am I supposed to learn when you have it moving in fast motion?
I have another video on my channel that's slowed down and it's more recent.
Beautiful
Thank you! 😁
How to determine if a 2, 3, or 4 point rotation is needed.
How long does it take to retie your hair
10 to 12hrs
So cute
Thank you! 💕
Did you start your own ?
No, I had them installed by a sisterlock consultant.
How long does it take for you to retire everything in total?
7-8 hours
2 point rotation
👏👍👍👍👍
I don’t think I’ll be able to do this on my own EVER
It is a tedious task. But forfilling.
I tried watching it but the video seems very fast for me.
I have another one coming, I will make sure to slow it down!
Hey
Hey
Tutorials suppose to be slow
😬 sorry! I'll do better next time! 😅
Correct me if I'm wrong but we're you doing 2 point rotations here on some of the back ones, as I know you now do 4. Also, we're you twisting the roots to keep all the hairs smoothed down to avoid frizz after applying the twist gel, and if so, do you still do this technique in 2024? I'm gathering all my dos and don'ts references before I make my decision to go ahead. Thank you for your transparency and sharing your journey... Blessing and wishing you a successful 2024. ❤🧡💛💚💙💜🖤🤍
Yes, I started out doing 2pt, but was told it wouldn't be good for my sisterlocks because I was started on a 4pt rotation. Yes I twist the hair to gather all the loose hairs while retightening. I currently still twist (lightly) to gather loose hairs and I do 4pt rotation.
@@CimplyCeCe T%hank you so much for replying and clarifying what I thought I saw! Yes, I will be sticking to a 4 point rotation when my time comes to get sisterlocs and get to the stage where I have to do my own re-ties. I really appreciate your transparency! Stay beautiful!
